Story
Hello, I'm Ender! Young at heart, I'm a bundle of energy. I love exploring new places, sniffing out interesting scents, and learning new tricks. I'm not one to shy away from a challenge, my curiosity knows no bounds. I'm also quite the social butterfly, always eager to make new friends. Cuddles? Yes, please! There's nothing better than snuggling up after a fun-filled day. Loyalty is my middle name, once I choose you, it's for life. My independent spirit means I'm just as happy exploring as I am chilling out. Smart? You bet! I love puzzles and games that keep my mind sharp. Adopt me, not just because I'm friendly, curious, and cuddly, but because I promise to be your most loyal companion, bringing a spark of joy and a world of adventure into your life.

Story
Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 325 days as of 08/02/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane will be live and in person here at the shelter until the end of July! Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! Since she is in foster and not currently at the shelter, an online application is required in order to meet with her. If you are interested in making Sloane a part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. August 19, 2024, 8:01 pm

Story
Meet Phoenix! Phoenix is a 5 year old shepherd mix who came to DPA with her 2 puppies. Her babies have since been adopted and it is now time for momma to find her loving home! Phoenix might be a shepherd mix, but as you can see by her pictures she is quite petite at only 50ish pounds. Phoenix LOVES her doggy friends and loves space to run and play with them. Phoenix also has been exposed to children as young as 3 years old and is good around kiddos of all ages who respect her space and know how to be around dogs. She LOVES her doggy friends and would definitely prefer to have one around. Phoenix is potty trained, and sleeps in her crate. She is the type of pup who will take some time to warm up to you, but will be so grateful to her new family. Can Phoenix be your new family member? Apply to adopt Phoenix today! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Story
Meet Smokey Joe - a very sweet gentleman who will make a wonderful companion. At approximately 11 years old, he's obviously beyond the puppy stage. He loves going for walks and is more of a 'stop and smell the roses' kind of guy. After a walk, he's perfectly content to take a nap. Smokey Joe gets along well with dogs and cats, and should do well with both after proper introductions. His foster home has two adult dogs and four adult cats, and he's just part of the pack. He even lets one cat tease him and he doesn't seem to mind. He prefers to be near his people, so he'll happily follow you from room to room to make sure he's not missing out on anything. He will bark from time to time, but he quiets down before long. If you're looking for the company of a sweet soul, apply to meet Smokey Joe! A generous family has made a donation to sponsor Smokey Joe's adoption fee! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. Story
Kennedy is a survivor. I rescued her in 2018 from a shelter in Rockport where she had endured 140 mph winds in an outdoor cage during Hurricane Harvey. That was in addition to whatever abuse she endured before she was taken to the shelter. But Kennedy is resilient. She became a treasured member of my pack of pups, and has been a faithful friend to me for these past 6 years. Not only has Kennedy healed so much in this time, but she has been pivotal in my own healing. She has helped me feel safe while living alone in my home, and kept me company on countless solo walks and hikes. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s joined me on trips to state parks and sat with me next to lakes enjoying sunsets. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s snuggled with me while I cried and brought so much joy into my life. I hope now that Kennedy can find a wonderful home with someone who can love her as much as I do. Kennedy is 6 years old, most likely a Dutch Shepherd mix, and 81 lbs. She is spayed, and is fully up to date with vaccinations, the rabies vaccine, heartworm prevention, a microchip, and monthly flea+tick meds. She loves to just lounge around the house and would do anything for a carrot, her favorite treat. She can even catch one in the air if you throw it up for her! She is great on a leash and is very well-behaved, as well as housebroken. I think she would do best in either a one-dog household or one with only big dogs, as I am rehoming her for aggression with one of my little dogs. I have not had the chance to see her around children but she has always been sweet with everyone sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s met, after sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s gotten over her initial timidity. Kennedy is an absolutely wonderful dog, and I know that she will be a wonderful addition to your life and home. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Kennedy, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. If you are interested in applying to adopt this pet, fill out the application at the link above. Kennedy is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program.
