Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 325 days as of 08/02/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane will be live and in person here at the shelter until the end of July! Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. She is spayed, current on rabies vaccination and basic boosters, microchipped and heartworm negative! Since she is in foster and not currently at the shelter, an online application is required in order to meet with her. Violet is a love bug to her people, but cautious of others. She takes her role as her family's protector very seriously. She is thought to be a German shepherd and golden retriever mix with maybe some border collie. She was born July 25, 2023, weighs 53 pounds, is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, HW negative and on preventative. She sleeps all night in her crate and is house trained. Violet loves to cuddle like a baby with her humans, play with her chew toys, going on walks, and would love to have a doggy friend to play with. She does okay with cats, but does try to herd anything that moves faster than a walk whether it is another dog, cats, other animals or people both young and old. She sees any type of fowl as a chew toy so would do best in a home without pet birds or chickens. Her ideal home is one where the mom or dad work from home or part time. Please remember that puppies need a lot of time, patience, positive reinforcement, training and love. If you have that to give and want to meet Violet, please request an application! A fenced yard and vet reference are required. We adopt in the DFW area only (within a 1 hour's drive from Terrell) as we deliver our pets to their new homes.

She loves to hug and give kisses. Loves to play fetch and gets so excited she doesnt realize she drops the ball. Her foster sister let's her play with her, but she won't play back. 11 months She is kennel trained, but would much rather look out the window.(me and my roommate have opposite work schedules, so there are times she is kenneled for 12 hours at a time) She knows how to sit, shake, waite/stay, and go lay down, And learning more everyday. She likes to sit in laps, because what is personal space. She would love a yard for to play in, or very active owners. Loves playing with kids, she could play for hours. She knows how to use a doggy door, she thinks it is really run to run in and out. She comes with a slow feeder bowl (she gets to excited when eating unless free fed)and dog bed.
