Story
Squirrel was dumped at Kensett Cemetry on a cold day in February. He is around a year old. He is slightly skittish but very sweet natured and warms up quickly. He does not seem to be phased by other dogs at the shelter. He has not had much chance to go out of the kennel but with the right training and patience and love he would make a lovely companion to someone. Adoption costs cover the cost of sterilization, vaccinations for Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella and microchip.

Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comAugust 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Hi, my name is Moe! If you are looking for a special dog, you are barking up the right tree! What makes me special is that life started out a little shaky for me and has left me more nervous and scared than the average dog. With time, understanding, patience, and building trust I will open up and be the best companion you could want! As the saying goes, I stick to the 3’s. I need 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks of a consistent routine and time to learn it & 3 months to start feeling at home. At first, I am more comfortable with other dogs and people really scare me, so I would do best with an outgoing friendly dog in the house to show me how to feel comfortable and confident. As time goes on, I get more used to humans but would do best in a single-person home or just a couple (too many people or a lot of children will be too much for me). I like my kennel and my safe dark space. I will come around and hang out more when I trust it is safe. I am kennel trained and working on being better with the leash. If you are looking for an amazing but special dog who needs a little bit of a calmer lifestyle, I am your man!!!! Email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.com for more info! Story
Oria is a beautiful fluffy girl who is three years old and weighs in around 55 pounds. She is a mix of Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees and that may make you think, "BIG DOG!", but honestly, she's not really all that big, she's more "fluff". :) Oria is not only a beauty, but she is also a sweetheart AND has absolutely everything you are looking for in a dog! Honestly, she has it all ... she's social, does well with men, women and children, other dogs and even cats! She walks well on leash, rides well in a car, and is crate and house trained. What more could you possibly ask for!? Oria has been vetted (got all of her shots, kennel cough vaccination, flea, tick and heartworm preventative and was spayed) and was found to be heartworm negative. She just has everything going for her ... EXCEPT she's homeless. If you would like to set up a meeting with this sweet, sweet girl, please start with the Adoption Application! The link is just below.
