Story
Meet Misty, a wise and wonderful shepherd lab mix who’s nearing her 15th year. Misty embodies the grace and wisdom that only come with age. She’s spent her life being a loyal companion, and now she’s ready to find a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years. Like many seniors, Misty has faced a few challenges along the way. She’s a bit wary of strangers, especially when she’s not feeling her best. She is also selective about her doggie friends, sometimes feeling protective of her space or getting frustrated when on a leash. But don’t let that fool you—beneath it all, Misty has a heart of gold. Misty is looking for a special someone who understands the quirks that come with being a senior dog. She thrives in a calm, patient environment where she can relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life—like a cozy bed, gentle ear rubs, and the warmth of a loving home. If you’re ready to open your heart to a senior dog who has so much love left to give, Misty is waiting to meet you. She may have a few extra needs, but she’ll reward you with endless loyalty and affection. Meet Misty, a wise and wonderful shepherd lab mix who’s nearing her 15th year. Story
Boogie is a 78 lbs 7 year old black lab mix who is ready for his forever family or even someone who can foster him until we find him his permanent home. He is a big gentle softie with a heart of gold. Boogie has been coming out of his shell over the last week and now seeks human love and attention. He is relaxed and happy to snooze in his own. Boogie will fall asleep if you give him head scratches! He is very food-oriented and is quickly learning commands for treats. He is potty-trained and has excellent house manners. He loves his walks and does well on leash. He is very gentle towards smaller dogs (including my 32lb female dog), but particular with his canine companions but used to live with BABY who is also available for adoption separately or together. He is sweet and affectionate, low to medium energy, and ready to find a family that will love and take care of him

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, March 22nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $500  *Gravy is an option for Foster-to-Adopt!* Gravy is a 4 month old Australian Kelpie x Labrador mix who is ready to be the cutest little snack in the world! Gravy was rescued from the shelter with her sister, Biscuit. We don’t know how they landed in the shelter but we promised to find them the best forever homes in the world. We expect they will be in the medium range when they reach their adult weight. If you’re in the mood for a tasty treat, adopt Miss Gravy!      Gravy is an affectionate and playful puppy who can’t wait to take on the world with her people. She is super smart and food motivated which means training will be a blast. Gravy has never met a stranger she hasn’t charmed effortlessly and we know she will be the star of every park she enters. Gravy thinks she’s a total lapdog and even though she’s getting a bit too big for laps, she’s so darn cute we can’t bear to burst her bubble. Gravy loves playing with her toys and her humans and will happily race around for hours. She would be an amazing addition to an active home who wants to go on adventures with a furry friend! She will give you so many kisses you’ll be able to take them to the bank! We are looking for homes who are prepared to take on all that is large breed puppyhood. Those who know Lab mixes will know how incredible she will be as she grows up. With her floppy ears and her puppy dog eyes, you’ll fall in love with Gravy from the minute you meet her!  Gravy wakes up at 7 AM and enjoys some playtime before she has her breakfast. She plays in the front yard of her foster home for an hour or so with her sister and her toys before coming inside for a long nap. She has a light lunch followed by some playtime and cuddles. This cycle repeats for the rest of the afternoon until dinner around 7 PM. In the evening, she plays some more until she’s all tired and ready for bed in her pen.  Gravy has been well socialized with dogs of varying ages and sizes. She would love a playful companion in her forever home. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss continued training and socialization plans. She adores humans of all ages and would be an amazing addition to any home. We can’t wait for Gravy to find her buttery forever home!      Gravy is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 6.March 21, 2025, 7:36 pm
