APPLICATION: If this dog has stolen your heart, don't wait! Please apply online now to be considered as a potential adopter. NAME, GENDER, AGE WEIGHT BREED & VIDEO DOG: GREEN JEANS GENDER: MALE DOB: 01-15-24 WEIGHT: 25 lbs BREED: Flat Coat Retriever (Comfort Dog) LOCATION: Preston CT DONATION $550.00 VIDEO: Pups Green, Red & Pink Outside Exploring on how to navigate a ramp and stairs - this was built just for rescue dogs to learn how to use stairs and a ramp Green Jeans weighed 42.2 lbs. on June 13, 2024, he is a male flat coat retriever and was the first born. He is very loving and a laid-back big boy; each day before he is put down for a nap, he is the first to snuggle right up to his human and put his right paw on her leg. He is very smart, loving and social with people and dogs. He loves the pool but just but cautious about what exactly water is all about, personal attention and companionship from his littermates and humans. His foster mom tells us that he can be independent and can take the role of a very gentle alpha when the other two pups need him to slow their play time down. At night, foster mom always takes a moment to talk to him and he rolls over for a belly run. He loves his siblings and will snuggle with his brother Red between the pen sections, comes when he is called, and he knows how to sit for food. Foster mom does think he definitely loves his people. He is trained to use the litter box and is working on his leash training. Green Jeans has a lot to offer a loving family. This guy is very gentle and enjoys his time with his humans. He is very loving, attentive, and follows foster mom all over! He is a puppy and has lots of energy, but can quickly settle down and become a very large and loving lap dog! Green Jeans is best described as a happy go lucky guy, eager to run, play and be with his siblings. He is a polite, learns quickly and a real loving little boy. If you’re looking for an easy-going family dog, then he is right for you. Nothing would be better than curling up with him at the end of the day. Flat Coat Retrievers are comfort dogs. Comfort dogs interact with people in a medical setting such as a hospital, rehabilitation center, school, or nursing home. They are also known as crisis response dogs. Story
**Courtesy Post** we are helping the family find a home for Juan. He is not currently in our care. Juan is a medium size flat-coated black retriever/ labradoodle born on 8/21/2024 · Max weight will average 35-40 lbs (max). · Up-to-date with full round of 1st year core vaccines, including rabies · Heartworm negative and on Heartguard monthly treatments. Juan is the smallest of the 3 pups available, approx 30 pounds. His coat is scruffy/straight with more “beard” - that already needed a trim or two. Juan is shy and loves to squeeze into any “open spot” on the couch. He is medium/high-energy, he gets “zoomies” sometimes, but first to calm down and either sit with his humans as a “lap dog”. Juan adores belly rubs and could lay there for hours. He does really well with his crate, he will routinely go inside for his naps (on his own) and stays with the door open. Juan does share with his brother at night due to space issues. He has been pretty good with potty-training, but we keep a close eye on him because he has had the occasionally piddle accident. He is very sensitive, does not like to be guided by his collar (does much better with a harness). He also dislikes rough play and will cry with even the slightly bit from his siblings. We joke he “longs to be an only child”. He’s always been this way. It’s the same with holding him for grooming/nail trims - you’d think he was being horribly harmed with the way he cries out. He’s a gentle soul who doesn’t like loud noises or yelling – he will run into his kennel. Like his brother, Juan has been on regular car rides, going to children’s school for pickups as well as grocery trips, and does great. He has been raised from birth around our 10yr and 14yr old sons, but would be best in a home without younger children. He’s super sweet and his little eyes will melt anyone who gives him a chance. If you are interested, please fill out an application boomersbestbuddies.com and we will be helping to screen potential families. Juan is located in Colchester, CT

Story
Courtesy Post** Patches is not currently in our care. We are helping his family find him a home. Patches, Male DOB 8/21/2024 · Medium-size Flat-coated black FB2 labradoodle · Max weight will average 40-50lbs (max). · Up-to-date with full round of 1st year core vaccines, including rabies · Heartworm negative and on Heartguard monthly treatments. He was named “Sour Patch” early on because he goes from sweet to sour, back to sweet again. He is medium-size, flat-coated black FB2 labradoodle. His coat is slick/short with less “beard”. He really looks like a mini-lab, you would not think he’s a doodle mix. Patches is about 40 pounds and may grow a little more, but no larger than 50 pounds. He is very outgoing and curious, and likes to vocalize. He does “lead” his triplet sibling pack, so we joke he’s the boss! He also gets along great with the other household dogs, currently a grand total of 8 (including them). He is crate trained, but still shares a kennel with his triplet brother. He is very food motivated and listens well; you will have his undivided attention when he knows a treat is involved. He was the first to master sit and has been great with potty-training. Patches loves to cuddle with his humans and go everywhere we go around the house – except stairs lol. He’s not a fan of stairs yet, even watching his siblings – he refuses to even try lol. He has been on regular car rides, going to children’s school for pickups as well as grocery trips, and does great. He has been raised from birth around older kids, with the youngest age 7, so not sure how he would be around smaller kids/toddlers/babies. We’ve done our best to socialize and work on basics (commands: no, sit, stay, down, outside, kennel) but he needs a devoted family who can provide consistent training. If you are interested, complete an application on our website boomersbestbuddies.com we will be helping the family screen potential applicants. Currently located in Colchester, CT.

Courtesy Post** We are helping the family find a home for Rose** Rose, Female DOB 8/21/2024 · Medium Flat-coated black FB2 labradoodle · Max weight will average 45-55 lbs (max). · Up-to-date with full round of 1st year core vaccines, including rabies · Heartworm negative and on Heartguard monthly treatments. Her coat is very scruffy/wirey/curly and needs her bangs/beard cut regularly and loves to chase her long tail (and catch it). Approx 40 pounds, she is the largest of the 3, and can be a bit mischievous. Early on, she was nicknamed “Parcor Rose” because she loves to climb/jump onto medium height surfaces. She learned to stand on stools, chairs, boxes, storage containers - pretty much anything and her balance is amazing. Her high energy and adventures (and curiosity) keep us on our toes. She loves all people and always wants to be with the humans - she’s learned to jump/scale every baby gate we’ve tried lol. She’s very easy going but can be a bit stubborn. She’s doesn’t know her size and can knock someone off balance, and then still try to curl up in their lap. She keeps us laughing every day, she’s very entertaining. She is crate-trained and sleeps in her own kennel, and has been great with potty-training. Like her brothers, Rose enjoys regular car rides, going to children’s school for pickups as well as grocery trips. She has been raised by our family since birth and does well with children 7 years and up (not sure of younger kids). She is very patient and “motherly” to the other dogs in the house, there are 2 with special needs and she gives them extra affection. Even though she is the largest puppy, she “submits” the smaller ones and will literally do somersaults to show belly – again, she has a hilarious personality. Rose will be spayed upon adoption. She is located in Colchester, CT. Apply to boomersbestbuddies.com

Story
Beasley is a lovable 2 year-old Irish Setter mix who is ready to find his forever home. He’s afriendly and affectionate boy who absolutely adores people and gets along wonderfully withother dogs. Beasley is housebroken and crate trained. It appears that Beasley did not have the advantage of early training to discourage somebehaviors which are normal for young puppies. He has been receiving that training in his fosterhome, and has made major strides in not stealing food and not jumping up to greet people. Heis finding it harder to give up grabbing clothing, but that also is showing continuingimprovement.Beasley never learned proper leash walking. He is much easier to control on leash using an EasyWalk harness. He is highly food motivated, which will make continued training for leash walking(and for anything else you might want) much easier.Beasley does have a high prey drive, which means he has a strong instinct for chasing smallanimals, particularly squirrels, chipmunks and similar animals. Therefore he should not live withsmall animals such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits or cats. He’s also shown mild resourceguarding over very high-value toys, but doesn’t actually fight over them.If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, and eager-to-learn companion, Beasley might be theperfect fit for your family!Name: BeasleyBreed: Not 100% sure - but retriever and perhaps Irish Setter.Sex: MaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 70lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $350.00 Location of dog currently: New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Louis was given away by his original family a year or so ago. The new owner dumped him. He wandered up to someone's house in our county here in Texas > He was very thin. We took him in and to the vet. He had parasites, was a bit anemic. We put him in a foster who fattened him up. Then we got him neutered and he had to complete heartworm treatment. Now he is fit as a fiddle and looking for a forever home where there might be some cool weather! nice boy!
