Around four years ago, a friend found Phaedra malnourished and frail on Nebraska Avenue in Tampa. The friend wanted to nurse her back to health, but couldnt keep her because her landlord didn't allow dogs. So I took her in and she healed up quickly. Shes a sweet hearted, loyal girl who has some anxiety because of whatever happened in her early years. She will sometimes get defensive if new people rush up on her in a loud or aggressive way, so she needs to take it slow when being introduced. She grew up with a cat and never had issues with him before the cat passed away. It takes time for her to get used to other dogs. Im now living in a new place, so I need to rehome her. Its sad because she really is a special girl. She is house trained and loves getting exercise, going hiking and belly rubs. Im hoping that someone who knows how to care for this sensitive angel will have room for her in their home. Please let me know if so, thank you.

Daisy is a 17 week old foxhound gsd mix that is extremely cuddly and loves to explore. We took her in thinking it would be a good match from a neighbor’s ’backyard accident’. Daisy gets along well with dogs and kids. Unfortunately, she and cats do not get along and that is the reason we need to rehome her. She would thrive in a home without cats and a place to run. She would make an excellent running buddy! We are moving out of state at the end of July and need to rehome her as soon as possible. We will include her food, food container, collar, leashes, toys, and training pads.

If I could speak, what a story I would share... My name is Waggles, Wagity, or Wiggy Wiggy!I am an American Foxhound that ran with 3 other dogs in a rural area. I was the leader of my pack and always ensured the others safety, especially when crossing roads. In an effort to help us, we were trapped and fixed, but when it was time to release me back to the world I knew, I was actually not feral, and preferred a lap to surviving life day by day as a street dog. The family that helped me, couldn't keep me and reached out to HALO for help. Thankfully they said yes and kept me off the streets forever!During my spay, I tested Heartworm positive, so I am now seeking a home to care for me during my treatments. While I am timid, if you sit with me, you will win my trust and then the things that once terrified me will start to become ok and my bravery will start to show. After all I have been through, I am very brave after all. Please share to find me a home.
