Story
Opal is both beautiful and sweet, but we have learned that the best home for her would be with a single woman with no other pets. Opal loves her human completely and she simply doesn’t want to share. She is extremely possessive. Not to the point where she bites but she growls and barks a lot and that does not make for a peaceful home life for anyone. Opal is fun and playful and affectionate with her person. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car and she’s good with other dogs as long as her person doesn’t want to love on them. Then she growls them away. Opal is spayed, UTD required vaccines and his heartworm negative. She is house trained, but might have an accident or two until she settles in. We just have to find that “right“ home for this precious girl. She would truly be someone’s very best friend. If you would like to be the center of this girls world, please contact OMLC 7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you are emailing from a Gmail or yahoo account, please use the Gmail address. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Story
Charlie is a 4-year-old French Bulldog/Bullmastiff mix, born on 10/13/2020, and is up to date on her rabies vaccine. She is a fun, sweet, and playful dog but has a strong protective instinct over the home. She has had a few close calls with delivery drivers and strangers approaching the house when family members are not present. Due to having small children, we believe it’s best to find her a home that better suits her needs and provides the time and structure she deserves. We are looking for an active household with experience in training and managing protective behaviors. Charlie does have allergies that occasionally require an allergy shot to keep her paws from bothering her. She would thrive in a home where she can get the attention, activity, and training she needs.

Age: 2 Years Weight: 46lbs Good with dogs? Yes- meet and greet required Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? Yes Energy Level: Moderate-High Adoption Fee: $320.00 Any other info: Introducing another amazing Detroit special Malassezia! Also known as Mal. Mal is a lovable bulldog mix with a personality as soft and squishy as her wrinkly face. She was waiting for her chance at the over crowded shelter in Detroit and we couldn't wait to welcome her to our adoption program. This adorable pup is a master of snuggling, always eager to curl up and soak up the attention of those around her. She's shy at first but it doesn't take long for her to warm up and melt your heart. She loves to smoosh her face into you for pets, walks well on a leash, likes stuffie toys, and if you hit the right spot behind her ear for pets, she'll start kicking her leg in appreciation. With her unique blend of bulldog charm, puppy dog eyes, and sensational wrinkles, Mal brings a dash of whimsy to every room she enters. She's silly and adorable and we've all fallen madly in love with her. You will too! This beefcake is slowly coming out of her shell now that she knows she is safe and sound here with us and we love to see it. She ADORES playing and will happily play for hours, until you're ready for a cuddle session of course. We are quite smitten with this girl and we know you will be too! Malassezia was recently spayed here with us. She is also microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us. This low rider is finally ready to meet her forever family and have a home to call her own. She can't wait to be a part of a family. Story
Age: 5 months Weight: 14lbs + 12lbs Good with dogs? Yes Good with cats? Yes Good with kids? Yes Energy Level: High Adoption Fee: $350.00 (each) Any other info: Meet Mustard + Ranch! These two adorable sisters are stealing hearts at the shelter! Mustard and Ranch, estimated to be Boston Terrier mixes, are around 5 months old and each as unique as the sauces they're named after. With the cutest pouty faces, big, expressive eyes, and charming underbites, these pups are irresistible bundles of joy looking for their forever homes. Mustard is the bigger and bolder sister, weighing about 14lbs. She’s full of energy and loves to play but is equally snuggly when it’s time to wind down. Her folded ears and her cheeky grin make her an absolute showstopper! Mustard is a rowdy and confident pup who’s always ready for an adventure. Ranch, the smaller of the duo at 12lbs, is equally sweet but a little more reserved than her sister. With her upright, perky ears and endearing underbite, she has a charm all her own. While she might take a moment to feel confident, once she does, Ranch is a total lovebug and snuggle enthusiast. They are both spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and kept on prevention here with us but will both need all the basic puppy training when going home. We aren't sure what they are mixed with but based on their weights now, we are assuming they may end up somewhere around 30lbs when full grown. Hard to know for sure though so please take that with a grain of salt. Both Mustard and Ranch are wild, active, high-energy puppies who would thrive with families who can keep up with their zest for life. They’re seeking loving homes where they can grow up, explore, and share their boundless affection. Could one of these sweet girls be your perfect match? If so, apply through the link below and we will get you in to meet these adorable girls! https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Mustard and/or Ranch. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check.
