Story
Hi, my names Amara, I am 8 years old. For 8 years now I've lived with a wonderful family of 5, 3 kids, 2 adults and my fur siblings, a male Sheppard & my older sister who's a female Doberman. One day I attacked and grew aggressive towards my old sister Doberman whom I had grown up with and lived with for years. I am a lovely family dog, I'm great with kids of all ages, my human siblings are 10, 8 & 6, I've grown with them since they were 4, 2 and 12 months old. since I no longer get along with my fur sister I desperately need a new home with someone experienced in my breed that has no other animals. I may or may not be OK with just male dogs but I know I'm for sure not ok with female dogs, because I am the alpha. I listen so well and can even walk on or off a leash, I always stay with my human parents when we walk I also pay no attention to other dogs when I'm on my walks. Please adop Me, I desperately need a new home.

Story
Meet Hazelnut, a slightly hyper dog bursting with affection and a love for hugs. What sets Hazelnut apart is her love for hugs. She can't resist leaning into her favorite humans for a warm embrace, her tail wagging furiously with excitement. Despite her energy, Hazelnut has a gentle touch and knows how to read the cues of other dogs, making her a fantastic playmate in any social setting. She thrives on the companionship of her canine friends, always up for a game of tag or play time in the yard. This is just one of many animals at the City of Mobile Animal Services. Story
UPDATE!! Meet Maxwell!! Maxwell is a German Shepard mix who is a little under 2 years  old. Maxwell “Max” was found at a local tourist attraction in a kennel with a rope tied around his neck. Max is a chill— well mannered boy. He loves doggy daycare and walks well on a leash. Loves people and other dogs but no cats for this boy. He even goes to work with his foster mom and just lays around living the good life. He loves to sleep with you and follow you everywhere. He’s a Velcro boy. Maxwell is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Story
UPDATE! This beauty is Gabby. She was picked up as a stray by a Good Samaritan. She sat out her stray hold and was scanned for a chip but sadly despite all efforts by the finder an owner was never located. The finder has reached out to us for assistance and we will be welcoming this girl into our program since they have agreed to foster. Gabby is a beautiful shepherd girl. On the younger side likely around 1 year and she weighs 40-50 lbs. She’s settled into foster care and adjusting well. She is wonderful with people and does well with animals but does need proper introductions.  She’s an active and happy pup who seems like she will make a loyal companion! Breed experience preceded. Gabby is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply!
