HI, I AM TRUDY.  I COULD BE THE BEST PRESENT YOU WILL EVER GET AND YOU COULD BE THE BEST PRESENT I WILL EVER GET BY GIVING ME A PERMANENT FOREVER HOME. I AM 1/2 TO 3/4 GERMAN SHEPHERD AND 8 MONTHS OLD. I HAVE HAD ALL MY SHOTS AND FIXED AND READY TO GO FOR YOU. MY FOSTER PARENTS LOVE ME AND I HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS. WHEN I WAS LITTLE SOMEONE WAS NOT GOOD TO ME AND I AM BLIND IN ONE EYE. SO I AM A SPECIAL NEEDS DOG, YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH ME. I NEED A WELL FENCED YARD AND LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION. I LOVE EVERYONE AND EVERYBODY. GIVE ME A GOOD HOME AND I WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. THANKS. TRUDY Trudy is a special pup.  She is very friendly and loving and she likes for you to sit down so she can crawl in your lap.  She wants to play with her foster siblings but they aren't really interested.   We don't know Trudy's background, but she has some slight physical limitations.  She can be walked on a harness but not with a collar.  She is sensitive to anesthesia and she is blind in one eye so may startle easy when approached from that side.  Other than that, Trudy is just a loving pup who needs a furever home.        August 15, 2024, 5:19 pm

She has been good with a female dog her size and a small male dog, but she is way too interested in bothering kitties.   Bitsy was in a foster home with kids and is learning not to jump on them.  She loves to play fetch but she also loves to cuddle.  Bitsy is great in the house and can stay uncrated while you're not home....UNLESS.....something yummy is left unsupervised on the counter. Then she might give in to temptation and help herself.  I mean if you leave it there, it must be for her, right?  August 15, 2024, 5:19 pm

Rubin is a young adult male. If you are a hermit who lives at the lake, Rubin might be the dog for you.  He loves to play in the water and he is very sweet but he is very anxious around new people and changes in his routine or environment.  He does not do well in a car.   He is very sweet and smart.  Rubin will need continued exposure to new things and socialization to keep him outgoing and not anxious or scared.  He does well with other dogs, he likes to play with them but sometimes he will test his canine friends.  He is probably not good with cats. Update 2/1/24.  Rubin is doing better around new people.  He has also been out in the yard with small dogs as well as the big dogs.  He gets excited with the little ones but they put him in his place and he leaves them alone.  He generally doesn't get into anything when loose in the house unless it's yummy left overs, then he might be tempted.  He is doing better about getting in the car.  Once he will get in the car, we will work on road trips.  It's a slow process but it is rewarding to see him work through some of his anxiety. He truly is a people dog.  He will also let you know if one of the other dogs needs to go out.  If they bark, he will bark louder to let you know.  Rubin is a comical dog, if you don't have a sense of humor and patience, he is not the dog for you.   Rubin is working hard to overcome his nerves.    August 15, 2024, 5:19 pm

Sasha 3 is a lively, friendly girl.  She came to us still very thin despite having been in a shelter and getting fed regular meals for a few weeks.  She is always willing to eat snacks but is not food aggressive with people.  Sasha likes to ride in the car. Sasha may be bossy at first around other dogs but will probably settle down and be fine.  She shows great interest in fast moving little dogs.  She could possibly be trained not to chase them, but she might be better off in a home with no small dogs or cats. She will sleep in a crate but she has tried to pull the crate door open so she would probably want to spend more time out of the crate.  She is fairly new to the rescue so she is still teaching us about herself. Story
Juno is an 1-year-old female German Shepherd mix who must be spayed before adoption.  She was brought in as a stray by county animal control; and her owner never came looking for her.  Juno is a very pretty girl who is black with brown markings.  She currently weighs 50 pounds so she is considered to be a large young adult dog.  Since Juno is a stray we are still getting to know her.  We did learn, while making pictures, that she is camera shy and quite timid.  Once Juno warms up to you she is a sweet and loving girl.  If you would like to find out more about this beautiful dog--please contact our staff; or, better yet, come out and meet her!Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  August 18, 2024, 10:08 pm

Story
Diesel is a 4-year-old male German Shepherd who must be neutered before adoption.  He is an owner turn in due to a move and they can't take him.  Diesel has the gorgeous classic black and brown coat of a pure bred German Shepherd.  He weighs 93 pounds so he is an extra large guy.  Diesel has been well taken care of and he is the picture of health.  He is both leash trained and house trained.  Diesel is very well behaved.  He has never been around children but we see no reason that he wouldn't be okay with older children.  Diesel seems to get along well with other female dogs but a 'meet and greet' would be required if you have another dog; and he should NOT be in a home with cats. He is protective and will bark to alert you if something is going on around his home.  Diesel is a wonderful dog and he will make some lucky adopter a great companion.  We would suggest the adopter be experienced with his breed; be able to spend a lot of time with Diesel; and be very patient with him as he adjusts to his new owner and home.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  August 18, 2024, 10:08 pm
