Story
*currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort betweent Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Upon arrival to the group, she was very reserved, uninterested in people and was more likely to growl or snap in your direction with things she was uncomfortable with. After spending time with behaviorists it was determined that she was most likely an outside dog that did not get proper attention or exercise. She also was abused in some manner as things such as brooms, vacuums, and raising sticks/newspapers resulted in fearful behaviors. Its no wonder she was in a state of survival and distrust with humans. Thankfully after spending time getting consistent exercise, positive reinforcement discipline and affection, she has blossomed into a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now,( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! Her previous owners clearly left her unsocialized and to her own devices. This has resulted in high energy when around other dogs and an inability to socialize currently. So we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for us to feel confident about her being in a home with other dogs. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs, but hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in socialization at present. We also believe she is much more focused without competition. This also applies to cats as she does has some prey drive, as is not unexpected in such breeds. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependant on services used. For more information on Mocha, please contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com, or to apply for adoption please fill out an application here: https://form.jotform.com/41173109602142

Story
Meet 'Roxi' and 'Soul', a pair of 10-month-old sisters who are ready to find their forever home. These sweet girls have spent their early lives outdoors with multiple dogs, and now they're adjusting to city life, which can be a bit overwhelming for them. Despite their initial shyness, they're both incredibly loving and deserving of a patient and caring home.Roxi is the more reserved of the two, needing some extra time to build trust. Once she feels secure, she opens up beautifully and loves receiving pets and cuddles. Roxi is still discovering the joys of playing with toys but is making progress. She walks well on a leash and gets along wonderfully with her sister, Soul. Roxi has met other dogs and shown a playful side, barking a bit when she wants to join in on the fun.Roxi is looking for a home where she can continue to grow and thrive, with a family that can offer her the time and patience she needs to adjust to her new environment. Do you think you could be Roxi's person? Story
Estrella is a Shepherd x cattle dog cross weighing 45 lbs. Estrella and her litter of 5 were found near the SPCA Puerto Vallarta sanctuary. Their mum Keisha was tied up and left blind after surviving being poisoned. The puppies were in very poor condition suffering from malnourishment at such a young age. Estrella spent her early life in the SPCA PV sanctuary in Mexico. On walks she would always check that her blind mum was ok and would guide her along. Estrella is now in foster in Kelowna where she is living (and cuddling) with two other dogs. She can be timid to start with new dogs and cats, but really loves to walk with other dogs and is playful. She enjoys the beach, swimming and playing frisbee. She was the calmest of her litter. Estrella would like a home with a yard and would surely love another dog in the home. Estrella has been kind with people. She's a stunning dog with a kind heart. If you think you might be a good fit for Estrella please email pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little bit about yourself, and we can send you an application, or you can find our online application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw Adoption fee $550.00CDN

Story
Hello everyone, I just updated my profile with videos playing with kids, cats and rabbit. Hi there! My name is PHOENIX (Happy) and here is some info about me:Breed: German ShepardAge: 4.5 years (14/09/2019)Gender: female Weight: 66 lbsHeight: 22-1/2 inches I had been in a car accident and my leg was infected. Sadly, they could not save my leg. So now I am a tripaw. My rescuers are having an artificial leg made for me. Gentle and playful is what you will find with me. I still get around pretty good too. In fact, I am a fairly active pup. I get along well with dogs of all sizes, including small ones and even cats (I find them curious.) I find them amusing, but not necessarily all that interesting. I am smart & easily trainable, hey I'm a German Shepard, would you expect anything less? I'm a sweet girl with a faithful and loyal nature. I know you are ready for an awesome girl like me. Just waiting for your application. I'm good with kids, cats and even a rabbit. Please see my videos with cats and rabbits and kids https://youtu.be/f6VNmWQOHeU https://youtu.be/4prrQ37wQ5g https://youtu.be/dg5th_XIoNA Another vid of me: https://youtu.be/YIor50YdbTs. Energy Level: moderate to moderate-high Get along with:Dogs, yesCats, yesKids, yes Prey drive: low to low-moderate Fears: unknown, not observed Training: noneLeash skills, minimum. Will need continued patient training.House trained, no. Please be prepared to help me learn! Health notes: I am a tripaw.I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Due to ongoing limits on Vancouver flights yet, additional fees will apply if flying from another city. Unaccompanied Cargo costs within Canada: $275-$500 per dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. I will be on the first available flight, as I need to leave the Middle East as soon as possible. If a flight directly to Vancouver is not found quickly after I've found a family, the extra cost for cargo to Vancouver will not be optional.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  ##1213054##

Story
Good day!  My name is Marlin (aka Martin) and I'd love to tell you a bit about me!  I'm an older guy (born in May 2007), a mix of german shepherd/canaan breeds, and I've never lived in a proper stable home environment.  I'm quite an energetic dog and my favourite place to be at the shelter is outdoors.  I can be somewhat selective with the dog friends I make, and while I can play nicely with them, I think I'd prefer to be the only resident dog in my forever home.  I need a fair amount of exercise, so will be most pleased with a very active family. As you can see, I am a very smiley, happy boy.  https://youtu.be/Ua0EzZr-qNcAfter being confiscated from a neglectful home, I went to a local shelter when I was around 1 year old. I have been at the shelter since then and it is about time I find a home!  Having never received consistent, dedicated training from humans, I need a fairly experienced handler/owner who knows about & has experience with training. Since I have never lived in a home before, having a yard would be good, so I can acclimate to living inside better, by having plenty of outdoor time, where I feel most comfortable right now. I hope you are willing to give me time to understand a house is a great place to be.I have had basic training: leash walking with a halti, heel, sit, down, bed/place, in addition to exposure to other dogs. Continued training and review of what I know would be good. I'm a smart pupper, so could learn tricks too https://youtu.be/Lr8EJ2Zkc1I. Here I am calm at the vet's office: https://youtu.be/udM_Cc-MOgk. Energy Level: high Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: yes, basic training commands and leash walkingLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No, as I live in a shelter environ. Please be prepared to help me learn! My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1570722##
