Story
We rescued Sidney from a horrific shelter in Memphis, TN. When we got him, he was skin and bones and had some barrier aggression issues (who knows what horrors he suffered there) It didn't take long for Sidney to realize he was now safe and could start letting down his guard. Sidney Poitier has filled out and is truly a stunning dog. Sidney is about 2 years old, and is at his healthy weight of 80 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he show absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system)  He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney Poitier, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
Diesel is such a sweet boy, but my family dynamics have changed and we cannot give him the attention and time he needs. Diesel loves cuddling and is very affectionate. We've had him since he was about 4 months old. He is a pure GS with his breed of record certificate. He is an active dog, and sometimes thinks he's still a puppy. He is completely housebroken with no accidents since he was a pup, this could be due to having him on a schedule. He is smart! His high intelligence should not go to waste, keep him engaged or he will find unproductive ways to keep himself occupied. This has been a 2 year battle of going back and fourth with rehoming him as he is the perfect dog, he just deserves a family to give him the time and attention we can no longer provide for him. Story
Meet Eli, a sweet two-year-old, 40 lb. German Shepherd with quite a story to tell. He was found down south with a pellet lodged in his spine...yes, that's right, somebody actually shot this precious pup! Despite knowing only cruelty from humans in the past, Eli has thrived under the care of his current foster family, now on Long Island. Eli is an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who brings joy to everyone he meets. He loves playing with toys, taking naps, and going for walks—where he always takes the time to stop and smell the flowers 😊. Eli enjoys observing the world around him, making him the perfect companion for quiet moments or outdoor strolls. This happy guy is crate trained, neutered, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He has a soft spot for milk bones, especially when dipped in yogurt or peanut butter! Eli thrives on routine, which is especially helpful for managing his slight incontinence—a result of a pellet injury he suffered as a puppy. His condition can be easily managed with a consistent schedule for feeding, water intake, and outdoor time. Eli is also dog-friendly and tolerant of cats, making him a wonderful addition to a home with other pets. He deserves a special family who will embrace his unique needs and give him the love and care he truly deserves. Could you be the one to offer Eli a second chance and a forever home? **This is a courtesy post for PAWS Long Island. If you have specific questions about Eli or are interested in applying for him, please email adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616. Story
Daphne is a completely gentle, loving and charismatic dog! She loves everyone she meets and will make a fantastic pet. She is 4 years old and weighs about 45 lbs. Daphne loves to play with other dogs, go for walks, car rides and to be with her person all the time. She will make an excellent family dog as she is not mouthy and has not shown any food aggression. This is a happy-go-lucky meet-n-greet type of gal. Some work on not jumping on people but other than that she is turn-key. She is housbroken and walks nicely on a leash. Daphne is fully vetted.

Story
Lainey is one of a litter of six. Her mom is a shepherd mix and dad is a lab/rottie mix. She is super sweet and playful. She is looking for a family to call her own, if you are interested please reach out for more information. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

My name is Chocolate Chip but my friends call me Chip. My friend said I looked like a chocolate chip cookie, sounded good to me. I am one of a litter of six, I am the only boy. It isn't easy living with a bunch of girls and I hope I get adopted soon. I am a very good boy, love playing with toys, and my sisters.
