Story
MEET JUNIE!June Bug is a lovely little lady who`s ideal day consists of plenty of playtime with another dog, making silly noises at her people, and taking a nap with some toys. Because her routine is so much better when she has a doggy role model, we think Junie would prefer to live with confident and playful adult dog who can match her energy and teach her how to dog. Junie has really come out of her shell since first coming to the shelter but would ideally prefer to live in a home outside with the city with teens and adults only so she can continue working on confidence building. Her adopters must continue to work on her force free training! Could you be her new person?Junie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and seen by our vet team. For more information on Junie or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Story
MEET GUS!Gus (also known affectionately as Goose) is an entertaining goofball. Gus likes relaxing with bully sticks, playing with his toys, and has the potential to be a good hiking buddy with some training and confidence building. However, Gus`s real superpower is how well he gets along with other dogs. A confident and energetic adult dog would make him happiest in his new home! Gus is still learning how to be a puppy so he would prefer a home outside of the city with routine and teens or adults only please! There will certainly never be a dull moment with Gus, he is very smart and will be a quick learner!Gus is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped, and seen by our vet team. For more information on Gus or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Story
Before calling about this dog, please read our adoption requirements at: https://gsrne.org/requirements-for-adopting-from-gsrne/ Hi!  My name is Muks. Could YOU be my Forever Family!!! I would love to come be with YOU forever. I am young and active and love to do lots of fun things with my person. Whether it’s chasing balls in the backyard, playing outside with the kids, hiking or going for walks, or going to training and learning all about how to be the best dog I can be! I love belly rubs and if you scratch my tail, I’ll even do my special little happy dance for you! I’ve become quite the young man since I’ve been with my foster dad and I’m well-behaved in the home – no counter surfing, no jumping on furniture, and I give people their space when they have work to do.  Yay, me!  And since I’m not quite two years old I have plenty of energy and would love it if you’d take me for training, or maybe explore doing scent-work, agility, or other fun stuff too.  I’ve been told I’m much more confident, respectful, and friendly with dogs now than I was initially. I think I would love to live with another dog because I would love to have a playmate who could help me build more confidence. I wouldn’t mind living with the right female dog, a good-natured pal I could play with and continue to learn from. When the day is done, I just want to roll over for those belly rubs.  I can’t wait to meet you and give you all my loving!!!

Story
Are you an active person seeking a likeminded companion for life’s adventures? Well then Tank just may be your guy. Tank is a gorgeous, athletic 2 year old male who’s always on the go. You know those hilarious Facebook/Insta Reels or TikToks your friends send you about the dogs carrying the log 6x the size of their body? This would most definitely be Tank! He loves everything play, he is not a couch potato and will keep you on your toes. We suspect he is likely a working line GSD so he has great drive. He wants to please and needs mental stimulation. We believe he has potential for SAR work or other sporting events. He’d make a great hiking partner. Tank is affectionate and loves to be with his people. He did have a female GSD housemate so, with proper introductions, he could live with another similarly sized female tolerant of his energy. Like all GSDs of his caliber, training and routine are a must. If you make the commitment to Tank, you will have one amazing sidekick. Apply today.

Story
https://gsrne.org/dog-bios/stella-2/ I am a young GSD who would love to come live with you and be loved by you and your family. Would you like to be my forever home? I am a very happy and healthy girl who has learned how to be a good dog and how to love and trust my people. I am a very sweet girl and love to be with the grandkids in my foster home. I love to be with other dogs too and adore running and playing with them. I live with a GSD male that I enjoy playing with a lot. They tell me that my right front leg is a bit deformed and splits in two partway up. However, I have no problems running with it and don’t even notice it’s different. The rescue folks say I have no health issues or concerns and took me for x-rays and a consultation to see if anything should be done for my leg. They found that nothing needs to be done and I move and run very well. They don’t want to fix something that isn’t broken (as they say) for simply cosmetic reasons. However, they say if anything arises with my leg later in life, GSRNE will support my adopters with the needed treatment. I will be a wonderful companion to my forever family and will always be your loving and attentive German Shepherd Dog. Please give me a chance – I’m really a wonderful girl who would love to be yours. Please consider adopting me……..come and meet me and you will see I am great !!! (Everyone tells me so)

Story
In late May, we received a call from an ACO who picked up a young stray female. This girl gave the police officers quite the chase and when they finally caught her no owner came forward. Her active, playful personality captured the heart of the ACO and he could see that she needed to gain weight but admired her coat of rich black with accents of tan. He was really invested and wanted to help this sweet dog, so, when we agreed to help, we asked him to pick a name for this pretty girl. He chose Freya, a name of Old Norse origin that shares its namesake with the mythical Freyja the goddess of love and beauty. We thought this was the perfect name for this beautiful dog. Freya is approximately a little over a year old. With no foster home available she stayed at the shelter for a brief period and was then moved to a board/train facility. We’ve had her with a trainer for the past month who has really helped her with some basic obedience and manners. Freya reacts well to other dogs and wants to play when given the chance. If the other dog is unsure and barks, she will chime in with her own barking. She would be happy living in a family with another dog or could also be an only dog, soaking up all the attention. If you're looking for an intelligent, inquisitive puppy and enjoy going for walks and doing activities with your dog, please ask us about Freya. We know the right GSD savvy home is out there to give this sweet beautiful girl the finishing touches on her training to let her shine like the mythical Freyja she was named after.
