Story
One year old Jacob found himself in a Texas shelter with a toe injury. He has recovered well and made his way up to Michigan in search of his forever home. He is all ears and all cute! Jacob gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He is crate and house trained and an all around smart boy, typical of his breed. He is a little shy at first,  but comes right out of his shell after a bit. Because of his shyness, a physical fenced yard is required.  Jacob is 40 lbs (and growing), neutered, up to date in shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00. Please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com if you have questions about him. Ready to apply for him, visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org and fill out one of our adoption applications.March 22, 2025, 8:47 pm

Story
Eleanor Roosevelt and CJ (Cami Junior) joined our family in the fall of 2022. They have a backyard to play in with a fence; they are littermates (sisters) and we love them very much. Our jobs are changing and we are not able to keep them any longer due to our new schedules. :( We do not want a fee for our pets, but please do not let them fall into the hands of dog fighting groups. It would break my hear. They sleep with me at night for a few hours and then sleep in their cage the rest of the night. They also stay in their cage while we are not home. They each weigh just over 50 pounds. CJ would be ok on oher own, but Ellie would be lost without CJ. I hope you can adopt them both.

Story
Overall he is such an amazing dog and so sweet. He just doesn’t do good with smaller children. He has nipped at my kids a few times. I can’t trust him around them and that worries me. I’m divorced with three kids so they are nobly here every other week. I’ve had Chevy since he was a puppy. He’s going on 4 years old this coming April the 9th. He needs a good loving home with no small kids. He knows just about every trick in the book and his favorite thing in the whole world is a ball.

Name: Sarabi Breed Guess: German Shepherd Age: 7 months old Gender: Female Weight: 45 pounds Shelter Temperament: Sweet & Shy Energy Level: High Children: No Cats: Need firm boundaries, must be submissive Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $250 Hi! I am pretty new to the ARP and staff are still getting to know me. I am currently taking the time to gain confidence. I like playing with my siblings, cuddling up in warm blankets, and playing with my toys. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Looking to rehome our gorgeous girl to a home that can give her all the love and attention she needs. She is a purebred, 7 year old German Shepherd who still thinks s a puppy. She is full of life, love and energy. She needs a home with no young children, and ideally no other pets. She does get along with our other dog but generally can’t be trusted with small animals or young children. We have tried over the last 3 years to get her to adjust to our toddler, but continues to struggle with impulse control and jumping on/hurting him. As a result she is always separated from the family or tethered to keep our child safe. She would do best with kids >10 years old
