Story
Adira was found running at large in Memphis and was subsequently brought to a veterinary clinic by a kind MPD Officer. She was severely emaciated and scared. “Addie” as she has come to be known, quickly made herself at home at her Foster’s farm while she gained weight and recuperated. She is now around 65 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years old. Addie loves to play ball, go on long walks through the woods, run, ride in cars, and snuggle. She is wonderful for baths, tolerates nail trims, and more than anything, just wants to be anywhere her human is. Although she is high energy when the opportunity presents itself, Addie would make a suitable apartment dog for someone who works from home. Her foster family works from home and she spends the entire workday snuggled on her bed beside her foster mom while she works. Addie is kennel trained, but she is a large dog and would not be suited for kenneling all day while family or individual works. Addie will do best with an active lifestyle and plenty of time for play. She does need to be the only dog as she is an alpha female and does not share her humans or her territory. Addie is deeply loyal and very protective. She is friendly to new people if her person is friendly to them. Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. Story
Everyone meet Jax! This super sweet shy guy is one amazing pup with a huge heart. Jax is going to need someone very patient with him. He needs time to adjust. That’s all he needs is time and patience. He’s timid initially, but once warmed up, he steals the show and your heart at the same time. He would probably do better with someone with another dog. Jax is great with other dogs and puppies and they help him feel more comfortable which allows him to come out of his shell quicker. He loves walks and car rides!!! Jax has fostered with two of our fosters here in Memphis and they would both be happy to give you a little more information about him. We can’t wait to find him a wonderful home of his own so he can settle in and adjust for good. Once adopted, Jax will travel via RescueVet Transport to his new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this amazing guy part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Name: Lotte Gender: Female Age: 6 years Current Weight: 76 bs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: German Shepherd Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes to kids 8 years old or older Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence not required Crate Trained: Yes, but fine being left free in house Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: A home with someone that is familiar with the breed and willing to adapt to her needs. She is very strong and her owner should be able to handle her. Lotte came to RO positive for heartworm and a double ear infection.  She has come a long way since January and is now feeling healthy and relaxed. She is on activity rest, but enjoys hanging with her foster family in the fenced backyard or leashed on the front porch with them and their two other dogs. She is a large dog and doesn’t know her size so she may do best in a home with a little bit more room and maybe no small kids that she might accidentally knock over. Likes: Plushy toys with a squeaker in it. She is also a fan of frozen bones with salmon and pumpkin for a crate time treat. Dislikes: Lotte is pretty easy going but does love it best when she is with her people What makes this dog special: Lotte has a tipped ear and we don’t know why, but despite that, she is a stunning girl who deserves to be shown off with pride! She will fill any home with love and devotion. Lotte's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. If you are interested in Lotte, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1946174##

He is very expressive and will let you know how he feels with his dramatic brown eyes and adorable floppy ears that perk up when you speak. He is vocal when he wants attention but not overly barky. He's a great pup. Likes: Duke loves to chew. It may be the puppy in him but bones make him happy. He is nervous in car and walking but with treats, he will follow you anywhere. He needs constant socialization with other dogs but has warmed up so well with his furry foster siblings.  Dislikes: No dislikes Duke is very smart and knows basic skills-sit, shake, and down. He is very adapt to learning new things so he would do great with someone who wants to teach him. He is very gentle, medium energy, sweet spirit and captivating expressions. He literally shows you what he is thinking through his eyes and adorable head tilts. He also is vocal when he wants your attention but very soft when speaking. He does well on a leash but is nervous when encountering dogs or new people. More walks will benefit him greatly. What makes this dog special? When he is nervous they drop. He almost speaks to you every new experience he has. He makes cute noises when he wants your attention and will be a super protective pup (true Germain Shepherd). He is very easy to train and such an easy pup. When you meet him, you will fall in love. Duke's adoption fee is $350. Story
Katniss came to the shelter with her two littermates, Peeta and Gale. These pups aren't so sure why they ended up in a shelter at such a young age, but they are ready to find their forever homes! Like all puppies, they would benefit from positive reinforcement based training as they learn potty training, foundational manners, and gain confidence. They would also benefit from continued socialization with other dogs, people, sights, and sounds! If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Katniss home. If you are interested in meeting Katniss, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
