Story
Hello there, I'm Jax. I'm a super handsome Shepherd boy, with a shy side. You would think for my size, I would be this big confident guy, but it's the opposite. I get spooked and anxious in new situations with new people. I do best when I have some time to get a good sniff and figure out for myself that all is good, but it's safe to say in my next home I will need a respectful and calm household with humans that will ease into things with me and help work on proper socialization so I'm a super duper successful guy! Once I do warm, you'll see my energetic, bouncy side where I like to jump on ya for tons of love and attention. I'm a very energetic dog, so I will need proper outlets for my energy. Us Shepherds like to be on high alert, it's just normal for us to always be on the lookout. I tend to bark when I see other people or animals enter what I think is my land. To me these are intruders up to no good, so while I will be your personal alarm system, it's safe to say apartment living might not be ideal. I haven't been around many dog friends so it may take me a long time to warm up. You should be able to keep me separate from new dog friends for a while and be prepared to do super slow introductions if you have other dogs in your home. I don't know if I've ever met a cat, so super dog savvy cats are prefered. Kiddos can be spooky to me, so a calm home with a respectful child might be fine, but a whole handful of them would likely be too much. I am a great boy and know I will make a great addition to someone's home!See Jax on Tiktok! https://tinyurl.com/ukhd4mjn

Story
Hi there, I'm Apollo! My days are filled with playful antics, boundless energy, and a whole lot of curiosity. I'm a bit of a goofball, always ready to make you laugh with my funny ways. I love making friends, but I'm a bit picky when it comes to my fellow dogs. I really don't like the ones that get in your face. Cats? Kids? I'm not sure, I haven't met many. I'm not just about fun and games though. I've got a heart full of love and I'm eager to share it. I am looking for a home with a fenced yard. A tall secure fence would be best as I've been known to be a bit of a houdini! But I think it just adds more to my character if you ask me! If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you entertained and love you unconditionally, I'm your guy. Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together!See Apollo on Tiktok! https://tinyurl.com/4jfhtacf

Story
Hello, I'm Luna. I'm a sweet, friendly girl who loves to show affection. My heart is as gentle as a butterfly, and I'm known for my cuddles. I'm also quite smart; I've been told I'm lovely on a leash. However, I do have a little trouble with my back legs, but that doesn't stop me from being the loving, gentle soul I am. I believe that love isn't about perfection, it's about acceptance. I'm not perfect, but I promise to love you with all my heart. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion, I'm your girl. Give me a chance, and I'll show you how much love I have to give. Since I have trouble with my back legs due to hip displaysia, i'm considered a special paws adoption. I will require regular vet care to help manage my condition. With that being said my adoption fee is up to you to choose!

Story
Hey pal, I'm Batman! It's kind of an ironic name for me... I'm not nearly as confident as that guy in heavy duty armor is.. If anything, I'm terrified of the big city and all the craziness that surrounds it. The humans wonder if it's possible I was an outdoor dog? I'm reallllly scared of leashes and walking on them, and tend to resist, panic, and flail around like a Wacky Waving Inflatable Tube Guy! I think because of this, it's best I have a house with a fenced yard so I feel safe. I am INSANELY loving. Like, you should see how I seek comfort from people- I either stand under their legs for safety, or, I will straight up crawl into your lap or hug you. No exaggeration, I want to be in your skin!! I'm probably one of the most cuddly, affectionate dogs you've met in a long time. It's important I go home with another dog friend, as this seems to help me with walking on leash and following their lead. It would be nice for me to be adopted with my friend, Lily, though it isn't absolutely mandatory we are bonded as we know sometimes this can hold dogs back from finding a good home. As long as you have a dog that is energetic and playful (heads up, I come on INSANELY strong with dogs and am a bit over the top- so the right match is very important), and you have a lot of time and patience to dedicate towards proper socialization for me, I think I've got potential and will do well. I can't wait to find my forever home and get tons of loving, as I have so so much to give you as well.

Story
Hello there, I'm Daisy. I'm still young and full of life, eager to explore the world around me. I'm sweet and friendly, always ready to give you a warm welcome. I love cuddles, they make me feel safe and loved. I might be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, we'll be the best of friends. I'm smart too, quick to learn new tricks and commands. My energy is boundless, perfect for those who love to play and stay active. But don't worry, I'm gentle, I know how to behave around my humans. I'm not sure about children, I haven't met many, but I'm willing to learn and adjust. I'm not really confident with other dogs, I've had some bad experiences in the past, so It's best I go to a home without other dogs. Apartments may not be the best fit either because I may run into other dogs in the hallways. I have lived with cats before, I just don't like when they eat my food and may bark at them. I'm not the biggest fan of being home alone, but with some work the people here think I will be a really great dog. So, why should you adopt me? Well, I promise to be your loyal companion, to love you unconditionally, and to bring joy and laughter into your life. Let's create beautiful memories together!

Good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Kyiv. He is an 8-month-old German Shepherd weighing 65lbs. He was found as a stray and will be at least 80lbs when fully grown. Kyiv is a wonderful boy. His age is still up for debate as we believe he is about a month younger as his ears stood up last month and Shepherd's ears are usually up by 4 months. Regardless, he is already 65lb so he will be a big boy when fully grown. He is an absolute dream German Shepherd puppy. He came to us being quite handshy. He was also very mouthy. Though this is a typical Shepherd trait, we have ensured to work with him on this, the younger the better, It was obvious no one had spent time for him, nor did anyone claim him. He learns new things and commands very quickly. He sits on command now and takes treats nicely when in the sit position. Kyiv loves to play with other dogs. He does talk a lot when playing with them. He has a wonderful appetite and is fed twice daily 2 1/2 cups of food. He is housebroken as well as paper trained just in case. He is not crated in his foster home as he has been fine with the other dogs in the home and his toys to keep him occupied. He listens very well. The photographer told us that of all the dogs she has ever photographed in her entire life, he is the best by far for being calm, focused, and not distracted by the other people and dogs in the park. He will require more leash training with his body harness and lead. He rides well in the vehicle. The 2 Veterinarians that have worked with him said he was a really nice, good pup. The ideal home for Kyiv is one where the family has previous herding breed experience. German Shepherd's training never stops. Another female dog to teach him the ropes would really be helpful. The family must be one that includes their dogs in their outdoor activities. Socialization with this breed is very important, both with people and other dogs. Instinct is to protect so the more socialization they get the better. He is not good with cats. We loves children and as he is still in the mouthing stage, his new family, if there are children, would need to be 10 years plus. Kyiv is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. A fully fenced backyard, made of wood, 6-foot high minimum, a Veterinarian History of Compliance and previous German Shepherd or Herding breed ownership are Mandatory to apply for Kyiv. Many thanks to Melissa Caron Photography for their talents.
