Story
This puppy is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation WAIVED if picked up in TN, $100 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Meet Burton, the spirited Border Collie/Shepherd mix ready to charm his way into your heart! At just 11.5 months old and weighing 45lbs, Burton is the epitome of puppy energy and enthusiasm. This playful goofball is always up for an adventure, especially if it involves exploring the great outdoors or engaging in a spirited game of fetch. One of Burton's most endearing qualities is his affectionate nature. He loves nothing more than showering his humans with hugs and snuggles, and watching him roll around and wiggle with joy in the yard is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. While Burton is still mastering obedience commands, his eagerness to learn and please shines through. He's doing well on his potty training and he is crate trained. His playful puppy antics are all part of his charm. Burton thrives in the company of other dogs, reveling in lively play sessions and companionship. A home with another energetic canine friend would be ideal for him, providing both playtime and valuable lessons in manners. Although Burton may be a bit shy around strangers, with patience and socialization, he's sure to blossom into a confident and loving companion. His fear of the unknown is understandable when you learn that he has recovered from being shot in the face and neck, with bullets remaining lodged in his body. He's a brave survivor with a zest for life, ready to embark on new adventures with his forever family. If you're prepared to continue Burton's training journey with patience and love, and provide him with a home filled with laughter and play, then he just may be the perfect match for you. So, what are you waiting for? Apply to meet Burton and discover the joy of having a playful pup by your side!  Interested in adopting? Story
Tennessee is the embodiment of your ideal furry companion. A striking blend of Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd, he's just 2 years old and bursting with energy. Tennessee thrives in a dynamic environment, making him the perfect fit for an active household. Despite his boundless energy, he possesses a gentle nature and remarkable intelligence. If you're seeking a trainable partner, Tennessee is your perfect match. Beyond his exuberance, he knows how to appreciate moments of stillness and enjoys cuddling up with his favorite humans. His luscious black sable fur requires regular brushing to maintain its health and stunning appearance. Tennessee is well-versed in basic commands, walks gracefully on a leash, and has excellent recall and boundaries. While he's tolerant of other dogs, his lack of exposure during his formative years means he's still learning proper pack manners. He's not one to bark unnecessarily, reserving his vocalizations for when something seems amiss. Tennessee is kennel trained, although he's not shy about expressing his dissatisfaction with confinement. Nevertheless, he can be trusted to behave responsibly when left alone at home. Plus, he's up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and fully housebroken, making him the paw-fect addition to your family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 12:07 pm

Story
The photos of Ace show an agreeable fellow that is waiting for you to give him purpose.. he is a good ball player and will fetch. He could fall in the gentle giant category, and will watch you, is alert, and know how to take care of himself, especially staying cool. In play with some girl dogs here he will stand his ground and then some, so he is coming off now as a bit of a seasoned veteran as opposed to the happy newcomer since the prison visit, (see below) Welcome back, Ace! Ace has just returned "home" from the Prison Program and is ready for his new furever home. While up at the prison, he has learned basic commands, leash walking, and received crate training. Ace is always eager to learn, curious to new surroundings, and overall very obedient. He is a very active dog that loves to run off leash and play with his toys. Ace definitely seems to be like a big teddy bear with how much he loves to be pet and eats up the attention. It might take some time before he warms up to you, but when he does, he might not leave your side. If he would ever manage to get loose, he probably wouldn't run away for the fact that he loves to be around people! He was also known to alert at people he was not familiar with. But with most German Shepherds, Ace has displayed some prey drive that to some people could be a concern. With that in mind, homes with small dogs and cats may not be the best suited home for him. While he was at the prison, Ace took a liking to another female that was participating in the program, Fern. He seems to do very well with another dog so if you're looking for a playmate, Ace could be the one for you! If you're approved, schedule an appointment for a meet and greet with this big boy before he's gone!

Story
Update: Jack is back from our Prison Program as of July 30th and is ready to go! While at the prison, he received leash training, crate training, is housebroken, and learned some basic commands such as: sit, lay down, and paw. He does very well both on and off the leash and will stay by your side. Jack also like to fetch sticks and frisbees, but doesn't do so well with bringing a ball back to you. While Jack was with his handler, he displayed some protective traits and without the proper training and/or socialization, this could make way for potential issues. Jack also showed some prey drive and will chase after groundhogs and rabbits. We probably wouldn't recommend sending Jack to a home with cats or small animals. However, if Jack seems to be what you've been looking for, he's back and ready to meet new people! Jack is a little character that has arrived from Louisiana. Upon arrival he was a little nervous, but that has since transformed into a soft style that really wants a connection. So he is becoming himself quickly and has even been on a few walks. He seems to do fairly well on his walks. So soon you'll be able to add this lovable character to your collection. He seems agreeable with female dogs, and mannerly.
