YOUNG MALE GERMAN SHEPHERD AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION This stunning 9-month-old long-coated German Shepherd is one of the latest arrivals at Kiko. He was much loved, but changes at home meant his family was not able to provide him with the lifestyle this working breed needs. Klibou is clean in the house, good with basic commands, friendly when meeting new people, and is an easy passenger in the car. As with all young dogs, Klibou will need and benefit from ongoing training. He loves learning, and will make an excellent student for a breed-experienced adopter looking for a new buddy to work with. Klibou has a lot of potential, and did we also mention how stunningly gorgeous he is? Klibou’s perfect home will have German Shepherd experience, and lots of time to devote to giving him the mentally stimulating and active lifestyle that he craves. If you’re interested in offering Klibou his forever home, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at www.kikodogrescue.ca. We are active in the Greater Montreal and Eastern Ontario areas, and are also open to applicants from elsewhere willing to drive to us.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SNOWALL  was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 3rd August.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Snowball is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and at the beginning of August weighed around 60 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.    He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. SNOWBALL has an adoption fee of $300 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GEYRAN was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending her with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. GEYRAN was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 56 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 2 February 2021. She is a front leg amputee. Geyran is the  mother of Binky. GEYRAN's (Geeran) Story is that she rescued after her and her pups were shot. Sadly only one of her pups survived and Binky came to the US at the same time as her. Geyran had been a street dog and had her pups on the streets and managed for her family to survive, socializing with some nice locals for about a year before the shooting. She was shot twice in her leg which unfortunately did too much damage and her leg had to be amputated. She is an incredibly happy and social girl who loves everyone she meets. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. GEYRAN is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $150, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this precious girl home. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MARGO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home.. MARGO is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. She is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 58.20 pounds. She has an estimated date of birth of January 2023.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. This beautiful girl was adopted from a Texas shelter as a young pup in June 2013, sadly found herself back in a kill shelter in December 2024 at just under 2 years old and is a complete love bug. At the shelter, before coming to Maine, MARGO was lucky to be part of the shelters "Doggy Day Out Program" as she as so well behaved - this is some feedback from the shelter volunteers in their play groups: (5 January) - Shelter Doggy Day Out Program "How did your dog do in the car? Loved it! Which of the following activities did the dog enjoy? Going on a walk How did they interact with strangers? I love meeting new friends! If they saw any cats, how did they react? We didn’t see any cats If they saw any other dogs, how did they react? She was super curious and wanted to go right up to them. She didn’t bark at any even when they would bark at her If they met any children, how did they react? She didn’t meet any children How did I walk on the leash? She was excited and would stay at the pace I went How were my manners and do I know any tricks? Jumpy, Good manners Did they show any of the additional behaviors listed below? Warms up (timid at first), Wants to sniff, Wants to run The best part of my Daycation was when.......Ending our day with a pup cup! Any additional notes you would like to include about the dog? Margo was happy and excited to do anything in the day!" The shelter volunteer stated (8 January) Dog didn't mind the other and made way away from others to relax to self for some time and showed some playful energy with the others once getting warmed up with the group. (16 January) High energy, jumpy, social with people, loose wiggly body, wants to play and run, high energy. (22 January) During the observation Margo was a good girl, she listens to the command sit and has a burst of energy. (28 January) High energy, jumpy, knows sit, knows shake, leash puller. Social with dogs and people, loose wiggly body. Love bug, wants to play, wants to run, solicits pets. Knows sit, shake, energetic, jumper, loves to run interests in dogs leash reactive.  (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.
