Harley did really well in her board and train- she will need a breed savvy owner for proper handling. She likely can have friends if they are the right match- but will likely need to be an only pet.

Story
Meet Donner! This wrinkly little dude was recently returned to us through no fault of his own, and he`s ready to find his new forever home! He is still a puppy, so he will need your help with potty training, as well as with obedience training and learning manners. We would recommend for adopters to have some knowledge about the Shar-pei breed as they are prone to skin and eye issues due to the folds in their skin. We are requiring that everyone in the home (humans AND canines) meet Donner prior to adoption, to make sure everyone is able to get along. Also, keep in mind Donner is still growing, so make sure if you rent, you check your lease for any breed or weight restrictions, If you would like to meet Donner, please speak with our kennel staff who will be happy to help!

Story
Meet Frida! This elderly little lady here was recently brought to us and she is hoping to find her forever home! Frida is quite fond of her personal space, so she will be required to meet any resident dogs prior to going home. Please remember that when doing any introduction with either people or animals to do them slowly! Frida does have Atopic Dermatitis which is a chronic but treatable condition and staff can help answer any additional questions regarding her condition & treatment. Lastly, Frida did have some eye procedures done prior to coming to us & will likely be on lifelong medication, so any potential adopters will need to be ready to commit to her medical needs. If you would like to visit with this lovely lady or if you have any questions, please ask a Kennel Technician & they will be happy to assist!

Story
DEXTER - 1-3 years old, 60 pounds, house trained, dog social, nervous with new people, adult home Dexter arrived at VBACAC as a stray (with tag that read DEXTER) and although it has taken a lot of time (a LOT of time) and a lot of patience (a LOT of patience) he is starting to trust us. I met him in a yard with two people he already trusted and another dog friendly dog. The two dogs ran around here and there, chased each other and approached all of us randomly.  Dexter is a handsome boy with tan fur, a black muzzle, floppy ears, and long legs. When he smiles, he shows some really adorable teefers. Dexter was interested in me, a new person. He would come to me, sniff and then sometimes take treats I offered. Once Dexter is used to a person, which will take multiple meetings, he is a loving, friendly and playful boy who loves head rubs and being called a handsome boy. He can be a leaner who loves to go on adventures. Dexter can be protective of people he is close to but proper introductions allow him to befriend others. Slow, proper introductions and patience will help this boy succeed in a new home. Dexter is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2025, 4:43 pm

Hank's previous family said he is loyal and trains easily (he also knows Dutch!). He is protective of his handler when on leash, but is very people friendly when off. Story
Dino is a 3.5 year old German Shepherd/Husky that was surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him. He is house trained and likes other dogs, as well as kids. His previous home said he loves people and to play. "He loves hard and is sweet." Dino does bark at new people when they enter the home, so a proper introduction is imperative. If Dino sounds like a good fit for your home, come by the shelter to meet him today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 25, 2025, 1:53 pm

Story
This beautiful girl is Mila! Mila was originally adopted from the NSPCA back in Oct 2024 and was recently returned due to some conflicts with the other dog in the home. Mila is very slow to adjust and is quite nervous around strangers, however she is a very sweet young lady who just needs a little time and patience to come out of her shell and gain some confidence. Due to conflicts with dogs in the past Mila would prefer a home with male canine companions only or as the only dog in the home. Mila would thrive in a home with an experienced GSD owner, an active family, and preferably a home with access to a large yard for her to run and play in. If you are interested in our sweet Mila ask a member of the staff for more information today!

Story
Max is a Dutch Shepherd and approximately 3 years old. He is a typical Dutchie in many ways. He is very toy driven and loves a game of fetch. When excited he's mouthy and will def give you the love nibbles. He is not interested in making many human friends outside of "his" people, but as long as he is under control/guidance of his handler he does fine. This means that he isn't the life of the party when people come over or the dog that is going to be pet on by strangers. He bonds with his people and is so goofy and fun to have around. He is mostly house and crate trained. He requires a fenced yard to enjoy. Max does know basic obedience. He is dog social but prefers females. He will require an adult home. No cats please. He is healthy and happy and would be great for an active pet home or a hobby sport pet home! Interested families can submit applications for adoption on our website- www.k9Justiceleague.com.
