Story
Hello. My name is ASPIRA (Hope) and here is a bit of info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever / German Shepherd MixAge: 3.5 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 21 kgHeight:  55 cmHighlights: loyal, independent, intelligent, affectionate Ready for a loyal companion? Your bestest buddy? Your pal, partner, bff? I'm up for adventuering in life with you.My story began in a neighborhood in Lebanon, where I faced cruelty at the hands of children throwing rocks at me. Fortunately, a kind-hearted soul intervened, rescuing me from further harm. As I found refuge in the safety of the rescuer's car, a glimmer of hope shone in my eyes, despite the abuse I had endured. Touched by this resilience and determination to survive, my rescuers decided to name me Hope, symbolizing the optimism for the brighter future that I embody.Being an affectionate girl, you won't go a day without being loved up by me. I'm both intelligent and also independent, while still retaining my connectedness to you. While I am an active gal, I can exude a state of calmness, as well.I'd really like a home where we can do some hiking, beach walks and just plain fun activities. Then come home and enjoy settling into each others embrace for relaxation. I am good with other dogs too:  https://youtube.com/shorts/cFttZWDsXzA. Hoping you hear my heart calling yours. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yes Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: a little leash workLeash skills: Some. Please be prepared to train meHouse trained:  No. Please help me learn! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##1998231##

Story
I will be arriving to Canada at the end of July. Good day. My name is MOCHI and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever mixAge: 2 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 15 kgsHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlight(s): friendly, super affectionate, obedient, sweet, ? Don't I just look like someone shrunk me in a dryer? It makes me the cutest, tiny Golden mix.My rescuer found me starving and very weak at the entrance of a subway station. Seems I had spent most of my life on the streets, likely abandoned as a puppy. She took me to the vet for care and nursed me back to a healthy state. Sadly, she has to move to another country now and can't take me. So, lucky for you... I'm available for adoption. You'll find me to be highly affectionate. I'm a lovely obedient dog, with all the typical charm of a Golden: friendly, sweet, loving. Though my eyes express sadness from my early days. I still radiate love and care. I must have a tremendous heart of love, having been through so much, yet still have such a stupendous temperament. We could certainly have some great times together. I'm pretty much up for whatever adventures you have in mind. Having the ever adaptable Golden genes makes me an easy fit for most any home. My benefactor has stated " She is one of the most wonderful dogs I have ever met." I think he is referring to my super-loving, sweet disposition. I get along famously with other dogs, though I can be just a bit afraid of certain large dogs. Videos to come. URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so all us dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Good day. I'm ELLA (Bella) and here is some info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Labrador mix (Austrian Pinscher/Lab)Age: 1 year oldGender: FemaleWeight: 44 lbsHeight: bit under 24 inchesCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: Friendly, playful, timid, cautious, sweet, quiet I'm a playful girl, who is still just a puppy at heart. You'll find I am a loyal pup, who just needs time to bond.Rescued from a forest outside a major city, I was with my friend, Taylor (also posted), who had a severed tail. The rest of my litter and my mother were seen in the vicinity, but they were frightened and ran away. I stayed by Taylor’s side for protection, so was the only puppy rescued from my family. Come to find out we are half sisters. Same momma, different daddy. We were taken to the vet clinic, where I was treated for malnutrition and basic care. Once we were stable, we were transported to our rescuers facility where we began our path to recovery.Taylor and I tend to sit on the sidelines when there are activities and games with the other shelter dogs. The boisterous, young labbies are a bit much and bully us a bit, since we are passively vulnerable yet. We have separate playtime and sleeping areas from them thankfully.I am a bit more active and playful than Taylor. Taylor sleeps on a small sofa, whils they give me a blanket to sleep on the floor, because I pull the stuffing out of dog beds and cushions. I likely do this either because I am still in my puppy stage, or it could be in reaction to the overcrowded environment at the refuge. Iimagine time in a relaxed home of my own will end up alleviating that. While a bit timid yet, I am playful with Taylor and small or older dogs, though occasionally I will nip at a smaller dog. I hardly ever bark. I too am a little wary of unfamiliar humans and dogs yet and will run away if pursued. I would do best with non intimidating dogs. I am currently in progress on leash training. URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so all us dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Hi there. My name is Taylor. Here is a bit about me:Breed: Lab/Golden Retriever mix (Austrian Pinscher/Russo-European Laika)Age: 3 yrs (feb 14 '21)Gender: FemaleWeight: 56 lbsHeight: 22 inchesCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: gentle, wary, quiet, sweet, timid A quiet and gentle girl, who is just learning to come into my own, I am so ready for my own home. I didn't inherit my momma's golden locks, but I still have the sweet retriever genes within.Rescued from a forest outside a major city, I was wild with pain from a severed tail. It is unknown whether it was from an act of cruelty, a trap or a tragic accident, but the force of it left little more than a ragged stump. Out of agony and panic, I fought against being rescued, and some of my teeth were broken during the struggle. When I was found, a frightened puppy, Ella (also posted) was with me (but she was not mine), and thus we were rescued together. Come to find out we are half sisters. Same momma, different daddy. We were taken to the vet clinic, where I had surgery. Once we were stable, we were transported to our rescuers facility where we began our path to recovery.Though the trauma of everything has been particularly difficult for me, I have found solace in a soft bed, nutritious food, and the comforting presence of my bonded companion, Ella. In the company of the other playful and relaxed refuge dogs, I have been gradually regaining trust.I am not known to bark. While wary of unfamiliar humans and other dogs and will run away if pursued, you can get me in the house with gentle encouragement, once I trust you. So, still shy and prefer my buddy, Ella's company. However, I allow interaction without scurrying away from my rescuers now. If you will allow me the time to trust, I will continue to improve.I am a really sweet and passive pup. My rescuers determined to show ne that not all humans and dogs are a threat and that I am safe in their care. I flinch less now when petted, but still skulk when entering and leaving the house.Despite my progress, I still have a ways to go for full healing. My injury poses a risk of chronic pain due to nerve damage or the formation of a neuroma (benign nerve tumor) that could affect me for the rest of my life. The vet team worked hard to ensure I was free from as much pain as possible. I am gradually adjusting to life without a tail. I don't even have so much as a stump to wiggle to display my happiness, but am now used to living among humans and housemates.I am currently being leash trained. I prefer to sleep alone, with Ella sleeping nearby. It would be especially sweet, if Ella and me could be adopted together. We are listed as a bonded pair, but could potentially go to separate homes, as well.I am a fairly low maintenance dog, who doesn't require a lot of walking time. I am undemanding in my needs, so will make an easy dog for someone to incorporate into their home. I'd do best with another non-dominate type dog, so I am not pushed around. Story
UPDATE: My name is now Ari and I have been a Canadian for 2 years. I was adopted by a couple who have since made the choice to live apart. My remaining human is finding it hard to meet my needs as well as life's other responsibilities. He is making the very difficult decision to rehome me. Here is what he has said about me....I am a low to moderate energy dog who enjoys walks as well as lounging at home. I am quite treat-motivated so I can be trained to do things quite easily. I must admit that I can still be found fairly close to a dinner table to receive anything that might fall below the table. I then tend to seek a comfy place to lie, hopefully where I can receive patting and rest up a bit before our next walk. I find squirrels and cats to be quite fun to chase so I might need a bit more training in helping me to 'cool my paws' when it comes to such creatures. I still have some fears of some men and of course of such things as car noises and fireworks but I'm sure with a loving human guide, I will progress in these areas. Well, do I sound like the kind of guy for you? I would be happy to meet you and show you what a charming dog I am! Hi there! My name is AARON (but I've been called ARI for 2 yrs) and here is some info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Caucasian ShepardAge: 4 yrsGender: maleWeight: 40 kgHeight: 70 cm Update: I just arrived in Vancouver on Mar 6th, 2022. Wow, a whole new world. I arrived in Vancouver on March 6th, 2022. I had been rescued in a suburb of a big city in the Middle East, I was found with large wounds on different parts of my body. My ears and half of my tail were brutally cut off and infected. I was also malnourished. My rescuer has rescued many cats however when she took just one look into my beautiful eyes, she fell in love with me. She knew that very moment she just had to save me. She said I reminded her of her brother who was killed in a war. My rescuer took me to a veterinarian for treatment. I was hospitalized for about one month and then I was fully recovered. In spite of my big size, I am a gentle giant... kind and love to be petted. I am just a little shy yet though. Lots of good cuddling should help that. Big smile. I display no food aggression and get along with other dogs. I'm actually a pretty chill guy. Car rides don't bother me a bit either: https://youtu.be/hLdqI8i0fqg. And kids, well... I think they understand I am a mighty nice guy: https://youtu.be/kh7CbuuuuBI. I'm just a lover boy https://youtu.be/o3bh3vBkTxo. And don't you just love my spats style shoe look (my white socks)? Level of energy: low to moderate Get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yes (although has not had exposure to kids for the last 2 years) Prey drive: reported to be highHe will chase cats and squirrels, if they are close enough. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours. Training:Leash skills: I have developed some leash skills in the past couple of years.House trained: yes Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise.
