Hi! My name is Duke and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I'm a 2 year old male Golden Retriever who is eager for a new home! I have special medical needs and will require frequent visits to the vet. Please come prepared to visit with our staff veterinarian prior to meeting me! Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777. When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Purina will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.

No one came to claim me and I was lucky enough to have many people follow through with their pledges to sponsor me so I could come into CARL's adoption program.I like toys and I'm very treat motivated. I'm smart and walk well on leash. I'm very sweet meeting people, but I'm a big boy and tend to jump up a bit so although I haven't been around children, I would probably do best in a home with older bigger children. I don't really react to other dogs and I can walk in tandem with another dog, but I can be a bit testy in playgroups at the kennel so as a safety precaution I wear a muzzle.I hope it's not long before I'm a cherished member of a loving family.
