Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Hello! My name is Mayor Fluffington, and that is for good reason, as I feel like the Mayor with everyone wanting to be around me. I am well loved by all the kiddos and parents always wanting to play and cuddle with me. I love to play and bounce around, but I also get pretty sleepy too and curl up in my dog bed. I have sharp little teeth, but I am so gentle and tiny (very tiny maybe 4 lbs right now) that I am really just a little fluff ball to play around with.  I am just about two months old, and I am adjusting to the comfiness of a home. I am a Golden Retriever mix, and my foster family says they think I am mixed with a Border Terrier since I have a curly tail, my hair is fluffy and a little wiry, and I am also a tiny little guy. So far, I have not had too many accidents in the house, and I am learning to go outside if I need to. I am a good eater, and having a little treat when I go to my crate at night is a great way to fall asleep. I have even been sleeping through the night! I will be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find my forever home. I look forward to meeting you and being the next Mayor in your town:) Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2146001##

Story
Meet Zeus! This sweet boy came to us from Oklahoma where he sat for too long waiting for his forever home. He's some type of retriever mix, about 1 year old, neutered and fully up to date on vaccinations and ready for his amazing forever Colorado home. Zeus is a very active and high energy dog, who would love to be a running or hiking buddy, or a family that will walk him regularly. Zeus likes to spend his free time napping, chewing on toys and sticks, and chasing squirrels and bunnies in the yard. Because Zeus is large and has a high prey drive, he would do best in a home without cats or other small animals. Zeus is a resource and territory guarder, and is dog selective, so he would need slow introductions and may not do well with another dominant dog. Zeus has lived with adults only, and is not child tested. Zeus wants to be where his people are, and would love a forever home where he would not be left alone all day and has a yard of his own to run and play in. Apply for Zeus online at www.lolasrescue.com ##1602400##

Story
We're so golden!! Hi, we are the gold puppies, a nice person brought us to the shelter after they witnessed us being dumped on the side of the road! I'm a friendly and curious pup who loves exploring new places. My world is full of exciting smells, sounds, and sights. I'm always ready to learn new tricks and I pick them up quickly because I'm smart. When I'm not busy exploring or learning, I love spending time with people. I'm always ready for a cuddle or a game of fetch. I'm a loyal friend who will always be there to brighten your day. Adopting me means bringing joy, fun, and a whole lot of love into your life. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2148226##

Hi, we are the gold puppies, a nice person brought us to the shelter after they witnessed us being dumped on the side of the road! Just a young pup, full of energy and ready to explore the world. I love learning new tricks, you know. They say I'm pretty smart for my age. I'm always sniffing out fun and adventure, my tail wagging in excitement. Story
These six year old English Cream Golden Retrievers were very loved in their home. They are housetrained and crate trained. They are very bonded and must remain together in their foster home and their adoptive home. The girl is 75 lbs and the boy is 93 lbs (but should be a little less!). The boy is not always happy with other dogs so they need to go to a home where they will be the only dogs. They are very obedient and are typically goofy Goldens! So why do such spectacular dogs need a new home? Their loving owners have endured a long list of family issues that include three elderly parents with various illnesses that make having large dogs around treacherous. This has forced them have to keep the dogs crated so that fragile family members don’t get inadvertently knocked over by these friendly but large dogs. Giving up the dogs was not in the plans but they feel it would be best for the dogs to have more attention and have come to the realization that they cannot provide that under their current circumstances.
