I’m Mia! I’m a 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle instinct. I’m a little on the round side at 74 pounds (what can I say—I love treats!). Maybe you could help me shed a few pounds on walks or playtime? That would be fun! I was recently surrendered, so I’m still figuring things out and learning that the world can be a safe and loving place again. At first, I might be a bit timid—I tend to take things slow with new people or in unfamiliar environments—but once I feel safe, I’m a total sweetheart. I love gentle pets, quiet time, and curling up next to someone who makes me feel secure. I’d do best in a calm home without young kids or too much hustle and bustle. Think peaceful vibes, soft blankets, and long, cozy naps. If you think you’re the family for me, fill out an adoption application today! If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. Hudson is a beautiful eight-year-old Golden Retriever mix, weighing about 55 lbs. She came from a loving family who had to move abroad and couldn’t take her along. She has settled beautifully into her foster home, quickly forming strong bonds with the 3 adults in the home. She has a quirky side — she “smiles” when you pet her head, spins when she’s unsure, and adorably reaches up to give you a hug to let you know she has to go out.
