Story
Meet Werthers! This intelligent, playful and affectionate young dog is looking for his happily-ever-after.Werthers is a dog who is most comfortable in a calm and relaxed environment. Too much activity makes him anxious, and therefore his ideal home would be one that is kid-free and on the quieter, more laid back side. He is a very typical `tween` Golden. He needs lots of opportunities to burn off his energy through exercise and play, in addition to regular walks and activities that allow him to use his brain. We are looking for a home with a fully fenced yard (no invisible fencing, please) where he can make the most of the space to run and play. He loves his toys and will often carry one in his mouth around the house, but true to his breed, a good game of fetch is his favourite pastime. He is doing well with his leash training and though he can pull at times, he is easily corrected. His forever humans will need to practice patience and consistency as he continues to master his leash skills. He has shown some level of prey drive, so out of an abundance of caution, we would not recommend Werthers for a home with cats or critters.Werthers is very food motivated, which lends itself to his trainability. He knows basic commands such as `sit`, `lie down`, `wait`, `OK`, `give a paw` and is working on `drop`, particularly with high value treats. Werthers has also shown us that he is protective of his food bowl, and it will be very important that mealtime be safely managed to prevent triggering this resource guarding. Ideally we would like to find adopters who are experienced with dogs who display this type of behaviour, so they can work with him to overcome this and to ensure it doesn`t become a bigger issue.Werthers prefers slow introductions when meeting new people. He may bark initially, but once he is able to approach and feels safe, he will quickly warm up. He is fully housetrained and does use a crate, which keeps him out of mischief when left alone. A bed time he also likes to sleep in his crate without issue or fuss. His Fosters have also found it a useful tool when he may become overstimulated. and in need of a brief time out to help him to calm down.Werthers is very devoted to his people and loves attention and affection. He needs a family who will find lots of time to spend playing with him, offering belly rubs and affection, and who will dedicate themselves to helping him become the very best dog he can be!

Story
Quick Facts  Name: Ilbok Age: 2 years old (Born January 2023) Gender: Male Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Golden Retriever Mix Color: Beige Current Weight: 18 kg My Personality Hey there! I'm Ilbok, a fun-loving and affectionate boy who can't wait to find a family to share all my love with. I may be a little cautious at first, but once I trust you, I’ll show you just how sweet and friendly I can be! I adore people and am always excited to say hello. I’ll happily approach new faces and let you give me all the attention I crave. If you call me, I'll come running—I'm all about making connections! Although I’m friendly with humans, I do take a little time to warm up to other dogs. I can be a bit guarded initially, especially if another dog gets too close too fast, so it’s important to give me the space I need when meeting new pups. I’m just being cautious, but once I get to know you, I’m a great companion. I’ve got a heart full of potential and am ready to build friendships with the right dog pals. On My Walks Oh, how I love my walks! There’s nothing better than getting outside, feeling the breeze, and sniffing all the new scents in the world. I do like to pull on the leash a bit because I’m just so excited to explore! I’ll stop and sniff along the way, and if I see something exciting, I’ll want to check it out. But don’t worry, with a little training, I’ll get better at walking with you calmly by my side. I love the outdoors, and I promise we’ll have lots of fun together—whether it’s a stroll or a more energetic walk. Life At Home When I’m home, I’m the best companion you could ask for. I’m a curious boy who loves being around people, so I’ll probably follow you around, always wanting to know what’s going on. I’m very affectionate and enjoy being petted and loved. I’m also quite adaptable. I do my business indoor and outdoor. I might mark in new enviroment. I’m pretty well-behaved, and while I may show some excitement before meals or walks, I promise it’s just because I’m eager to have a good time with you. I don’t guard my food around people but with other dogs I am still learning. I’m still working on some manners, but I’m a fast learner and I know I’ll do great in a home that gives me the right guidance. My Ideal Home I’m looking for a loving, active family who will appreciate my playful energy and my affectionate nature. Here’s what I’d love in my forever home: Active Adventures: I’d love to be part of a family who enjoys outdoor activities. Whether it’s a long walk, a fun hike, or some playtime in the yard, I’m ready for action! Patience & Guidance: I’m still growing and learning, and I’d thrive in a home where I can continue developing my skills and building my confidence with positive reinforcement. Companionship: I’m social and love being around people, so I’d prefer a home where I’m not left alone for long periods. I thrive when I’m part of the family. Dog-Free: I’d do best as the only dog in the home. Last Message If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will always be excited to share his love and enjoy the world with you, I might be your perfect match! I can’t wait to meet you and start our next adventure together. ##2278433##
