Although I’m friendly with humans, I do take a little time to warm up to other dogs. I can be a bit guarded initially, especially if another dog gets too close too fast, so it’s important to give me the space I need when meeting new pups. I’m just being cautious, but once I get to know you, I’m a great companion. I’ve got a heart full of potential and am ready to build friendships with the right dog pals. On My Walks Oh, how I love my walks! There’s nothing better than getting outside, feeling the breeze, and sniffing all the new scents in the world. I do like to pull on the leash a bit because I’m just so excited to explore! I’ll stop and sniff along the way, and if I see something exciting, I’ll want to check it out. But don’t worry, with a little training, I’ll get better at walking with you calmly by my side. I’m a curious boy who loves being around people, so I’ll probably follow you around, always wanting to know what’s going on. I’m very affectionate and enjoy being petted and loved. I’m also quite adaptable. I do my business indoor and outdoor. I might mark in new enviroment. MEET MURPHY!! Sweet big puppy Murphy was found at an elementary school being cuddly with all the kids! He loves BIG HUGS! He's your typical curious puppy and loves to explore. Cuddles on the couch are his favorite and he enjoys meeting new friends of the 2 and 4 legged varieties. Tug-o-war is his absolute fave, but he'll settle down for hours with a good bone to nibble on. We're working on fetch but mostly he just likes to retrieve stuffies and then bounce off like a bunny! So far he's been gentle with soft toys and doesn't destroy them! His foster parents are impressed with his leash walking and that he hasn't had an accident in the house. They have a 5yo tiny human that he loves to give kisses too but sometimes he get a little too excited and forgets how big he is. He LOVE car rides and sticking his nose out the window! Although going in his crate is not his most favorite thing, he will easily be persuaded with a yummy treat and sleeps in his crate all night like a perfect boy. He's met a few cats and although he's VERY curious and wants to play with them he has been gentle and not aggressive. We think he'd be the perfect addition to a family with another young dog to play and wrestle with and with kids to cuddle up to! Rudy is currently in a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Rudy is a possible Golden Retriever/Cocker Spaniel mix and has just turned a year old (March 29) and is around 25-30 pounds. -She was running as a stray during a local festival for over 5 days before she was caught. -Slightly timid at first. She has done a great job over the last 5 months coming out of her shell and learning how to trust new people. -Have never heard her bark. -Loves to lick you! -Does well with dogs and we prefer for her to have another dog in the home. An active, well-mannered dog would be perfect for her, not high energy. -Leash and crate trained -Likes to dig, ideal home would have a dig-free fence. -Would probably be best in a quiet home or at least with well-behaved children over 10. Welcome Sage to CCPAL foster program. Sage is a 6 to 8 month old Golden Retriever/Collie mix. She is medium sized at about 30 pounds. She is good with other dogs. She likes the water, playing with sticks and walks nicely right beside you. She has a soft coat and will make a nice walking companion. I do think she will stay medium sized. She is spayed, vaccinated and healthy. She currently is in foster care in Tarpley Texas. Her and the other dogs in foster care here are up for adoption through CCPAL Rescue. Sage would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Sage is not food protective and gets lots of off leash play time with other dogs her size. She is a wonderful dog and through some of the puppy antics but still young enough to raise with the attributes you want in an adult. Someone that isn’t gone all day every day is best for any new rescue dog. You will need time to finish off her training. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200.
