Story
Lilah is a beautiful Great Dane. She was born in August of 2022. She is extremely affectionate and wants to curl up in your lap! She is currently a little over 100 pounds. She was an outdoor dog but loves coming into the office to visit us. We want her to be able to be in an environment where she can be with her family more and be inside at night and in hot or very cold weather. Great Danes are very sensitive dogs and really thrive when able to be with their family. She will need to learn house manners, but she is a smart girl and can learn quickly. Loves to play but doesn't know her own size yet. Lilah does seem to be dog reactive, so we will need her to be single pet only. She will make a great pet for someone! $300.00 will help us with the cost of her spay, microchipping and vaccinations. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
My Adoption Fee is Waived!Meet Duke, our lovable Great Dane mix with a heart as big as his paws! Just like his namesake, Duke is a fun-loving, doofy boy who brings joy and laughter wherever he goes.  He adores giving and receiving affection, making him a perfect companion for cuddles and playtime alike.  Despite his size, Duke is impressively easy to walk on a leash. Duke is currently in foster care.  He loves both of the adults in the household equally and is excited to get attention from either.  We haven’t seen him around kids, but due to his size and exuberance we think he’d knock little ones down.  He’s a leaner!  Once he gives his initial greetings he loves to lean on you to show his affection.  He lives with 4 other dogs and gets along fine with everyone.  The smallest dog in his foster home is 40 pounds and the two of them love to wrestle and play chase.Duke has good manners in his foster home and is a medium energy guy.  Once he has some time in the morning to play and get his energy out, he’s ready for naps.  He’s very receptive to verbal correction and wants to please his people.  He has not had any potty accidents in his foster home.  We always suggest close monitoring and putting new dogs on a potty schedule until they acclimate to their new environment to make sure they are set up for success.  Duke was recently diagnosed with a condition called megaesophagus.  If you aren`t familiar with this condition there`s lots of info available with a quick web search, but in general he needs to be fed vertically in a Bailey chair.  Duke is doing great with his new Bailey chair and we’re trying some medications to see if they’ll help him.  His condition is likely lifelong.  If you’re looking for a gentle giant who will fill your life with love and laughter, Duke is your boy. Come meet Duke and let him show you how wonderful life with a big, sweet, and goofy friend can be!Check out Duke with his doggy foster sister:Duke is in foster care.  If you`re interested in meeting him please contact his foster mom at lori.woodward@comcast.net

Story
NAME:MaxxSTATS:Male, Dane Corso/ Mastiff Mix, 1.5 years, 115 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Needs seasoned owner to work with issues (see below).Moderately ActiveInitially was told he was fearful of men, which seems to be he just needs slow introductions to new people where he can approach them at his own pace. Warms up quickly to men and women as long as it is done slowly and at his pace. Initially weary of strangers. SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Older children in a savvy home only (12+)Has not been exposed to cats.Has not been exposed to other dogs and ideally looking to place as an only dog at this time.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Needs patient proactive owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).Signing up for basic training will be a requirement to adopt. EXPERIENCED/large breed savvy owners required.ONE LAST THING:Maxx is a supersized puppy with lots of attention and love to give to the right family. He is goofy and loves to play, especially with an appropriately sized toy like his JUMBO Jolly-Ball. He loves treats and while he is a little on the shy side at first with new people, he warms up quickly as long as it is done at his pace. After the initial warm up phase, his true personality comes out. There is a playful side to him as well as a lazy lay at your feet side, although sometimes he may mistakenly lay on your feet in his attempt to cuddle :).Maxx initially had negative reactions when it came to strangers and pretty much everything new to him (including swaying palm trees). With reassurance, positive reinforcement in the form of treats, and looking to his handler for a confidence boost, his triggers have lost power. He will need continued socialization, desensitization, and training. With the right forever home, Maxx will continue to improve. He picks up on things very quickly and is very treat and toy motivated. He does need someone who will be patient with him, but also serve as someone who he can turn to for confidence and stability when he is unsure or frightened of something new for reassurance. Story
Meet Koa!  A Loving 7-Year-Old Great Dane in Search of His Forever Home!Koa is a beautiful 7-year-old Great Dane who’s looking for a special home where he can be the center of attention. He was raised by a family who loved him. While Koa is great with people, he needs a friendly confident dog to show him how to dog and needs a home without cats.Koa is a gentle giant who adores being petted, showered with affection, and having plenty of space to run. He’s a big leaner who loves to be by your side or snuggled up with you. He originally found him self in rescue at the age of 4. Being surrendered by a family that didn’t have enough time for him, he now finds him self back in rescue after his mama passed away. Unfortunately his sister just isn’t in the place to provide for his needs. We all know it’s a TALL order. So we understand, we are here to help his sister feel good about where koa ends up and help koa find his final landing spot.If you can provide Koa with the loving, stable home he deserves, please reach out! Senior 7 years and over $350.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering ##2145061##
