Story
NAME:MaxxSTATS:Male, Dane Corso/ Mastiff Mix, 1.5 years, 115 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Needs seasoned owner to work with issues (see below).Moderately ActiveInitially was told he was fearful of men, which seems to be he just needs slow introductions to new people where he can approach them at his own pace. Warms up quickly to men and women as long as it is done slowly and at his pace. Initially weary of strangers. SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Older children in a savvy home only (12+)Has not been exposed to cats.Has not been exposed to other dogs and ideally looking to place as an only dog at this time.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Needs patient proactive owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).Signing up for basic training will be a requirement to adopt. EXPERIENCED/large breed savvy owners required.ONE LAST THING:Maxx is a supersized puppy with lots of attention and love to give to the right family. He is goofy and loves to play, especially with an appropriately sized toy like his JUMBO Jolly-Ball. He loves treats and while he is a little on the shy side at first with new people, he warms up quickly as long as it is done at his pace. After the initial warm up phase, his true personality comes out. There is a playful side to him as well as a lazy lay at your feet side, although sometimes he may mistakenly lay on your feet in his attempt to cuddle :).Maxx initially had negative reactions when it came to strangers and pretty much everything new to him (including swaying palm trees). With reassurance, positive reinforcement in the form of treats, and looking to his handler for a confidence boost, his triggers have lost power. He will need continued socialization, desensitization, and training. With the right forever home, Maxx will continue to improve. He picks up on things very quickly and is very treat and toy motivated. He does need someone who will be patient with him, but also serve as someone who he can turn to for confidence and stability when he is unsure or frightened of something new for reassurance. Story
We got her from a family friend almost 4 years ago. She is 5 years old, her birthday is in May. We are looking for a an active family that has time to walk her daily and play with her. A big backyard is ideal. She is potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out. We unfortunately have to rehome her due to having family members move into our home. She can be loud at times, protective, very playful and super loving. She loves to cuddle.

Story
**Teddy needs a foster or adopter asap! He is being impacted by a divorce that is not his fault. Transport is available to anywhere in the continental US for serious adopters** Teddy is a very special boy who needs a very special adopter. Teddy spent a significant amount of his life as a stray dog and he takes a long time to build trust in new humans. Once he trusts you, he is a total love bug. While building trust, he prefers to watch from a distance. Teddy is very smart and wants to be part of a family. He loves to run the perimeter of his foster yard and enjoys being both inside and outside. Over the last few months, he has built enough trust with his foster that he now likes to sleep beside or on her bed. Teddy loves to play in water and has a fun game of dumping water bowls and buckets whenever the mood suits him. Teddy currently lives with several dogs (both large and small) as well as cats. He does very well with other animals and is very careful to be gentle with his 6 pound Chihuahua friend and kitty friends. He also gets along great with his 110 pound husky foster brother. Teddy loves long walks or hikes, playing with other dogs and getting brushed. He is still working on feeling comfortable on the leash, but has made some good improvements while in foster care. He is mild-mannered and loves to settle down to chew on a crinkly toy, bone, or antler. Teddy is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Teddy to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.

Story
Jaco is a jack of all kinds of fun! This sweet giant is eager to make friends and play with you. Jaco has been through a board and train program and knows all of his basic commands in addition to being well-mannered. Check out Jaco's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwnRYoSTeoXcytp3-5noWEGT Jaco was found wandering at a Jack in the Box on a rural highway in Central California. After surviving that ordeal, he lingered at a high-kill shelter for too long and was almost euthanized. A generous sponsor was able to place Jaco with a trainer for three months to give him more time to find a foster, and while he was waiting for a foster he learned all the cool stuff! Jaco has done great in training and play groups with other dogs. He also has done well with horses and pigs. He does not have much experience with cats, however we suspect this gentle giant would be fine with them with some training. Jaco is a XL breed puppy who would do best in a home experienced with XL dogs. He has done great in training, but continued leash work is needed. Jaco knows sit, down, time for bed, and NO among other cues. He is a big lovebug who is eager to please and learn new tricks. He loves kongs, rope toys, and tennis balls most of all for toys. Jaco is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Jaco to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.
