Story
Rosie is a sweet 5 month old mixed breed puppy (we're just guessing on the breed but we are sure she is sugar, spice & everything nice!) and she's ready to be your new best friend. This fun pup is doing great in foster care- getting along well with the adult dog and having a blast with the children in her foster home. She is well socialized, doing fantastic with her potty & crate training, and and all around great pup. You just couldn't ask for a better pup. Rosie Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Timber is a stunning brindle mastiff/ Great Dane mix who absolutely adores people! He has a goofy personality to him that lights up the room. His foster says he likes everyone he meets and can’t get enough back scratches. He loves to run and play and would enjoy having a fenced in yard or a family that is active. Timber is great with children, he doesn’t know he’s a big boy so older children may be best for him. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will cuddle with as long as you want. Timber does prefer to be the only dog because he loves his people so much. Timber would be an amazing addition to your family and being nothing but love and laughter and sloppy kisses. Timber Is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Welcome Plainer to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 4-year-old Great Dane. She came in with a male Great Dane and she does great with him. She has a little grey on her muzzle and she smiles and wrinkles her nose. She then puts her head in your hands. It was startling the first time we saw her wrinkle her nose. We thought it was a negative indicator but the more we worked with her the more we knew it was her way to smile. She is adorable. She is moderately active and would be fine with a lower energy family. She will be fine as an only pet and she would be fine with children. She is an adult so you won’t have all the puppy antics to put up with. She is good in her crate and good on a leash. She is currently going to be cleared for the heartworms and then spayed and readied for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.August 19, 2024, 2:09 am

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.8/5/24 Meet Bruno! This handsome boy is currently at the Arkansas Paws in Prison program. See the end of this post for more info on the Paws in Prison program. He will graduate from the program in about 7 weeks.  Bruno loves kids and other dogs! He weighs about 80lb and is very strong. He seems to be a Lab mix. Maybe mixed with Great Dane or Mastiff but we don't know for sure! He’s a gentle giant who thinks he’s a lap dog. He is sweet and loves to play ball. He loves to romp and roll. And to him there’s nothing better than a backyard and a ball to fetch. He’s huge fan of fetch. Bruno is a friendly, social and affectionate 2-year-old. Right now, though, he’s lacking leash manners. But the inmate trainers will teach him the right way to walk on a leash. There is something about Bruno that is inviting, compelling and captivating. He’s a lab mix with a lab personality and warmth. Bruno is big, but goodness, he’s such a great guy! If you aren't familiar with the Paws in Prison program, it is a training program where dogs are paired with 2 inmates. These inmates have gone through training themselves, to learn how to properly train the dogs.  Once enrolled, the dog lives at the prison with the inmates for 8 weeks. During that time, they are trained in basic obedience. They learn skills like house training, basic commands, leash walking, manners, etc. The inmates and the dogs all meet with the trainer once a week in a common area, where all the dogs are together, and each week they show the trainer what they have learned, and get assigned new tasks for the following week.  Each inmate keeps a journal on their dog. The journal is passed along to the adopter one the dog is adopted. The journal tells all about the dog, what they have learned, what they still need to work on, likes/dislikes, etc. At the end of the 8 weeks, the dog goes thru the Canine Good Citizen test.  Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am FridaysPort Jervis, NJ 5am Fridays Southington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350.
