Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ruby, a spirited 1-year-old female Great Dane who will be arriving from Louisiana in February! This big girl is a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with other dogs and can be around cats if supervised. While her family loves her immensely, it has been challenging keeping her out of the chicken coop, as she has a high prey drive and a knack for going after fresh chicken dinners on the farm! Ruby can clear a 6-foot fence, so ensuring she has a secure yard is essential. She adores her canine fur siblings and loves to play, making doggy daycare a fantastic option for her in her new home. With her fully vetted status, spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, Ruby promises a lifetime of love for the lucky adopter!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bean – Your Big, Goofy Best Friend! Bean is a 100-pound, 1-year-old giant who came from a Louisiana breeder alongside his buddy, Split. Currently in a Texas rescue, Bean is awaiting transport to Minnesota, where he’ll need a foster or forever home. He’s a big, lovable goofball with a lot of energy and an even bigger personality! Bean has had no formal training and will need an experienced handler—preferably someone familiar with Great Danes or other giant breeds—who can help him learn some much-needed manners. Right now, he’s an expert at counter-surfing, doesn’t have the best leash skills, has no personal barriers and has zero obedience training. That said, Bean absolutely loves playing with other dogs and thrives in an active environment. He’s a busy guy who enjoys fun and interaction, but he’ll need a patient, committed adopter to guide him in the right direction. Bean is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered—ready to start his journey to a REAL forever home. If you’re willing to put in the work, Bean will no doubt reward you with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and laughs. Could you be the one to give this oversized pup the training and stability he needs?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ace, a beautiful Blue Merle Great Dane, who is in need of a special home to help him overcome his past and become the majestic, loving companion he’s meant to be. Ace came to us from a breeder in Louisiana, where he endured a harsh environment filled with loud yelling and little socialization. Because of his difficult upbringing, Ace is understandably cautious and fearful, but with the right guidance, he has the potential to blossom into the sweet, loyal dog we know he can be. At 2-3 years old, Ace has had some rough experiences, but he is fully vetted, neutered, chipped, and heartworm negative, making him ready to begin his healing journey with the right person. He thrives in a calm, consistent environment with individuals who are experienced with the breed and are willing to put in the time to counter-condition him. Ace has a special bond with women and would flourish best in a home with only female caregivers. While he does well with men at the kennel, he has shown signs of distrust toward men in public. He has also shown a tendency to growl at children, so a home without kids is ideal for him. Ace is an incredibly loving dog once he feels safe, and he adores other dogs—this is his happy place. His ideal home would provide him with opportunities for socialization with other dogs, as well as consistent training and structure. He would benefit greatly from doggy daycare and a structured training routine to help him build confidence and trust. This is not a dog for a first-time dog owner. We are looking for someone with extensive experience with dogs, and specifically Great Danes, who understands the complexities of this breed and is willing to work with Ace as he learns to trust again. He needs someone who can provide gentle guidance and a safe, predictable environment where he can thrive and heal. We believe in Ace's potential and see the kind, loving dog that he can be. To support his journey, the rescue will cover the cost of training and behavior work because we are committed to helping Ace become the majestic Dane we know he can be. If you're the experienced, compassionate person who can give Ace the life he deserves, you will be rewarded with a loyal companion who is ready to share his love and joy with you.   We are only considering applicants with experience in handling large, complex dogs, particularly those with a background in working with Great Danes. If you think you’re up for the challenge of helping Ace heal and flourish, we’d love to hear from you.Click here to watch a video of Ace.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Story
Needs a kid-free home - has nipped (level 2/3 on Dunbar scale, please contact for more info). He adores kids but is very protective of his home/property/car. Not food aggressive. Loves other dogs. Hoping to find him a loving home where he can thrive. Overall, he's a healthy and happy boy - just like the day we met him. He's so handsome (coloring is a blue fawn) and stayed on the smaller side, we call him a pocket Dane. 108 pounds. DOB is 4/20/19. He knows all his basic commands and is patient, kind, perfect mix of playful and lazy, and wants to please. Health scare when he was about 1.5, they ended up tacking his stomach. They think it might have been an IBS flareup, we found a food that works and he's had great digestion/no health issues since.

Story
Welcome Jinx to CCPAL Rescue. Jinx is a 2 year old Great Dan mix. He is tall and lanky like the great Dane and has the shy quality. He is a good weight and he is good with other dogs. He has lived with a large female and male in his home. He does know sit and is good on leash. We assume he is potty trained as he had an older man owner. His owner is in hospice care and is not doing well. A good Samaritan stepped up and helped them. She asked CCPAL to take them in and help them find a new forever home. He settles down nice and likes to lean in to his person. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. We would love someone familiar with the Dane personality or someone who has had a large breed dog before. He would be a great man dog. He takes direction well and bonds deeply very quickly. He naturally likes men as he lived his life with one. He would be content being the only dog or being with another dog. He is not the dominant one of the 3 pack. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Well, hello there! I’m Falkor, a regal, 100-pound Great Dane, and I’m here to tell you all that I’m a certified cuddle expert! It’s true, snuggling is my absolute favorite thing in the world and if you let me, I’ll happily bury my head in your arms and just soak up the love. I mean sure, I’m a big guy but I have a soft heart that is brimming with love and affection! One of my favorite pastimes is relaxing in my favorite armchair and watching the goings on outside. I’m still figuring out what toys are all about, but blankets, towels, and floppy toys are my jam! I also love going on leashed walks, but I’ll forewarn you - I’m a puller LOL, so, I need a confident human on the other end of the leash to show me how it’s done. Additionally, I love to stretch my legs with a nice, good run around the yard so I will need a fenced one. By the way, I also LOVE pajamas…in fact, if I had it MY way, I’d have a whole closet full of cozy jammies that I could show off! Did I mention that I have great manners? I’m fully potty & crate trained, and I know commands like “come”, “go potty”, and “outside” so you can see I’m quite brilliant! I don’t bark much unless something catches me off guard; and cats beware because I have a high prey drive! I am good with kids however, due to my size, I do better with kids that are large dog savvy. As for other dogs, I prefer larger ones because the small ones tend to make me a bit nervous. Additionally, although I get used to other dogs in the home after some time, I can get a bit growly if I feel another dog is invading my space so I will need a confident forever parent who has experience with large, senior breeds. Truth be told, I like to throw my weight around if I’m looking for pets. Hee, hee!! Anyway, if you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who’s all about cuddles and calm vibes, I’m your guy. Let’s meet—I can’t wait to find a patient, furever family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me! Love & cuddles Falkor *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
