Story
Meet Beau, a GIGANTIC teddy bear of a dog. Beau came in as an owner surrender after his family had to relocate. He spent much of his time as an outside dog prior to arriving to us, but has since learned he is actually a fan of air conditioning & being inside. He is house trained, kennel trained, very dog friendly, slow, on the leash, OBSESSED with swimming, & a very gentle boy. Beau does like to play/chase cats so no small animals is best. He is slower to trust (a couple very routine days benefits him) but when he does, he is ALL IN! This guy will thrive in any type of home & is very adaptable. If you want a very sweet, very BIG (145lbs) new best friend to cozy up with or explore your surroundings, apply for this guy today.

Story
We'll send pics through Messenger... Meet Millie My name is Amelia (named after Amelia Earhart), but my foster family calls me Millie. I’m a 1 1/2 year old Great Pyrenees who loves everyone I meet. I’m equal parts silly and sassy - I love attention and will squeeze my way in if my foster brother is getting pet (thankfully he likes me). I walk great on a leash and am a celebrity in the neighborhood - everyone wants to talk to me and pet me. Birds and squirrels are super interesting, but my foster family tells me to “leave it” and I listen pretty well because I want to make them happy. I sleep in a crate at night and crate when no one is home because I’m still kind of a puppy and very curious about everything. When my foster family catches me doing something I’m not supposed to, I correct pretty easily. When I first came to the rescue, I had a LOT of mats in my fur, so I had to get a pretty short haircut. My foster family has been brushing me since then and it feels really good, but I will grab their arm with my mouth when I’ve had enough. I don’t bite down so it doesn’t hurt them, but since I don’t have opposable thumbs I can’t grab their arm with my paw. My coat is already growing out and will be back to where it should be in no time at all! I’m learning what toys are - my platypus, snake and braided rope are my current favorites. My foster brother is a little older, so he doesn’t play but I’m pretty good at amusing myself. If you want to meet me, contact A Tail of 4 Paws Animal Rescue.

Story
Oswalda is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey, and then we can set up a phone call or meet and greet with the foster! Oswalda is: Spayed: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized - Currently taking medication for anxiety support - Has a fracture on the tip of her canine tooth, which may require radiographs and possible future extraction, at her adopter's expense More about Oswalda: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: Yes, she has done well in her crate when home alone for up to 4 hours, and overnight. Leash walking: She has been doing well on leash, though can become nervous in busier areas. She would do best in a quieter, lower-traffic neighborhood. Dog social: She did well in living with another dog in her prior foster home Cat social: Unknown, but she lives with guinea pigs in her foster home, and has not shown much interest in them. Kid friendly: Unknown Oswalda likes: - Getting hugs from her person - Sniffing and exploring new paths on quiet walks - Gently putting her paw on the sofa to ask for your permission to come up and join you Oswalda is a gentle and well-mannered girl who is new to Chicago, and has been adjusting to her new life in the Windy City! As such, she can be a bit nervous in busy areas and with some strangers, and will need a patient adopter who can give her time, space, and treats to help her warm up and build confidence as she acclimates to her new environments. She is the sweetest, calmest dog, and it is so rewarding once you win her trust! Oswalda's adoption fee is $300, and she is eager to get all the hugs from her forever family! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***

Story
Special Requirements:- Cannot be left alone more than 5 hoursHi, I'm Honey, a brown eye blue eye beauty. I've been growing up in a foster home with some dog friends. My foster family has lots of good things to say about me:"Honey has puppy energy but is well-behaved. She knows when she's had enough and puts herself in her crate for a nap. She has also been crate trained at night. She is still learning to love the leash. While she is very timid on walks (especially in new territory), when she knows a safe space, like a backyard, she likes to run around with her friends and have a good time. She is working on her potty-training and basic commands, like "sit" "down" and "touch."I am a smart girl who can live with other dogs. I have not had the chance to be around cats and young children. Since I'm working on my potty training, I can't be left alone for more than 5 hours at a time. If you've been looking for a fun new friend, you've found one! Send in an application to meet me today!
