Story
Meet Chelsea! Breed: Great Pyrenees Estimated DOB: 03/01/2023 Sex: Female - spayed Weight: 45-50 lbs Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things To Know About Chelsea: Rescued from Mississippi after being heartlessly shoved under the fence at a local shelter Confirmed by an Embark DNA test to be 100% Great Pyrenees Chelsea embodies all the charming traits of her breed in a petite "pocket Pyr" build at only 48 lbs While sometimes aloof, Chelsea is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets, especially kids Her Pyr-like goofiness provides non-stop laughter and will brighten anyone’s day Low to medium energy level Enjoys playful times with her toys and easily self-entertains A professional nap-taker True to her breed, Chelsea loves being outdoors in any weather and would thrive with a fenced yard Enjoys going for walks but occasionally shows typical Pyrenees stubbornness Rides well in the car but may need a boost to get in Sleeps through the night in her private, gated space Dog-friendly—currently lives in a multi-dog household and loves playing with her foster siblings Like a true Pyrenees, Chelsea can be a bit bossy and protective of her humans, food, and toys around other animals, but with people, she’s a total softie! Cat-friendly—ignores the cat she has met Pig-friendly—enjoys spending time with her pig siblings Due to previous spinal trauma and comprehensive surgery with our friends at VRC Malvern, Chelsea is incontinent. She rocks her doggy diaper and even gets excited to put it on! Her surgery was a huge success, surpassing all expectations! She’s now finished with specialist appointments and only requires regular wellness visits with her vet. Living her best, pain-free life—running, jumping, and enjoying every moment like a typical happy pup. She even participated in our annual Miles for Mutts 5K! Story
Jasmine is a 3.5 month old great pyr/anatolian shepherd mix who weighs 45 pounds. These girls are going to be giant and will need a 6 foot fence or a family willing to leash walk them. We will not consider apartments for these dogs and they would do best with a job and another dog to show them the ropes. We are working on socialization with them and suspect that they have lived outside, isolated for their entire lives. They appear to be crate trained and willing to please, so with dedication and time, they will be wonderful companions. Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Simon, the happy and playful 1-year-old Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever mix. Weighing in at 53 pounds, Simon has the size and goofy disposition of a Golden with the bark and fluff of a Pyrenees. He has a medium to high energy level for playtime but also knows how to relax. His big, silly grin and gentle pawing for pets will melt your heart. Simon's adorable habit of sleeping upside down in his crate with his legs in the air will surely make you smile. Simon knows a few commands, including "Sit," "Shake," and "Kennel." He has had no accidents in his foster home and will whine or bark in his crate when he needs to go outside. Though he may talk back a bit when first crated, he quickly relaxes and goes to sleep. Simon loves food, toys, and attention from his people. He enjoys wrestling and playing with other dogs, making him a fun and lively companion. He is good with other dogs who will accept his roughhousing play style, polite to cats, and although he hasn't met any kids yet, we think he would be fine with them. Simon walks okay on a leash and does not get car sick, making him a great companion for walks and car rides. His quirk is his love for giving people full-body hugs, which not everyone will appreciate, but it's all part of his loving nature. Simon would thrive in a home with a family who can match his energy level and provide plenty of structure, playtime and attention with a fenced yard. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and silly companion, Simon is the perfect addition to your family!  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. January 23, 2025, 4:57 pm

Story
Meet Layla, the reigning queen of relaxation! This sweet 60 pound, Aussie/Great Pry mix pretty girl loves to take it easy, whether it's lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, or snoozing her day away in her favorite spot.  At 6 years of age, Layla has made is known that she prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can indulge in her love of napping without too much excitement.  She’ll happily keep you company during your quiet moments, and will always be up for a long walk or playtime with feline friends who are her favorite four-legged friends. Layla would do best in a home without young children or other dogs, as she loves her space and enjoys a slower, more serene pace of life. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who values comfort above all else, Layla is your perfect match.   This beauty is housebroken and loves to run around the yard with her people.  Years ago Layla decided that she wanted to be the only dog in her home and that is how she has lived and what we are seeking for her again.  She has been living as the only companion in the home until 3 years ago when the family started having children.  Now the young toddlers are having their normal growing up noises and activities create a less than calm environment for Layla.  Her family knows it will be best for Layla to find a new and quieter home without the toddler chaos.  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that many dogs do not transition well with toddlers that enter the home after they were the only dogs early in life.  Layla is so loved and because of that her owners are admitting that she needs a new start that suits her laidback demeanor. Children over 10 years will be fine. This dog is good on leash walks but doesn’t need to be at dog parks where other dogs will not respect her “space”.  She is crate trained but honestly she does no damage if left loose during the day for many hours.  Layla does love cats and is a very loving girl that is beautiful and very smart.  She has so many years left to bring joy and companionship to someone that just wants her as the only dog and will treasure her as the special girl that she truly is. If you are interested in this girl please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com She is ready for a new and fresh start.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 10, 2025, 10:20 pm
