Story
Meet Annie! Annie is 8 months old and about 60lb. Our best guess for her breed is a Great Pyrenees mix. Annie can be slow to warm up to new people but once she does she is the most affectionate and gentle girl! She loves her people hard. Annie’s ideal home would be having someone who works from home or has someone home more often. She’d prefer a home with other dogs! Other dogs make Annie feel more confident and comfortable. She also loves to play! Annie is also house trained and a very smart girl! If you are ready to open your heart and your home to Annie, please reach out and apply!

Story
Adoption donation $525 weight  79 lbs  Age: 2 years  as of 3/23/2025            Logan is a friendly and sweet boy who is the quintessential family dog, he adores children and just loves to be with his people. if you sit down, you will likely find his big head nestled on your lap. He loves toys and bones and is a very easy-going boy. Logan is 100% House trained.        Logan definitely needs a yard, this boy loves to be outside! He doesn’t go far, if you call him, he will come right over to you. he is leash trained and if you have a big enough crate, he will go in there for naps.      Logan’s father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and mom is a 35 lb mixed breed. His original owners in Mississippi put two of his sisters in a cardboard box in front of their house with a sign that said “free puppies.” Wags rescued the puppies and found them loving homes. The owners refused to give up Logan and his sister Lila but kept them tied up outdoors. Wags was finally able to  convince them to relinquish the two and Logan and Lila went to the rescue, enjoying freedom for the first time. Lila has just been adopted, now it’s time for Logan to find a loving home of his own.         Logan gets  along well with most dogs although he’s definitely the alpha male and does not like to be challenged by another male. In his foster home in the northeast Logan lived with three females, including a puppy who jumped all over him, and he just wagged his tail. We’ve noticed that he does fine with small and medium dogs but tends to get more alpha with dogs his size. For that reason, we would prefer a home with dogs smaller than him or at least not with a alpha male.   His foster mom speaking: of the hundreds of dogs I’ve taken in I can honestly say Logan is in my top three. He is so easy and so loving. He just falls madly in love with his people and is just so sweet! However, Logan can be mixed with strangers. Generally, he ignores everyone, but if someone he doesn’t know comes over to pet him he can get startled and may give a warning snap. He’s very much a Great Pyrenees, he really loves his family, but can be a little wary of others. For that reason, the ideal home for Logan would be a family that either doesn’t have a lot of visitors or is willing to just ask them to leave him alone, Or just put Logan behind a gate. He’ll just lay down and watch the activity. He won’t try to jump over, I don’t even think he could! He’s just a super mellow boy who just wants to be with his people.   Logan is a total homebody, he really doesn’t want to go out and about, he really loves his home and has an independent streak, you could leave him out in the yard, and he will very happily roam the perimeter (probably in his Great Pyrenees mode of protecting sheep!) And then lay out in the sun.     Logan is currently on Long Island spending a few weeks with a Dog Trainer who absolutely adores him too! His Dog Trainer would be happy to go over what Logan’s been learning, we’d love a home with someone is willing to keep up the training.    Logan has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a healthy boy who is ready to make a lucky family a VERY loving companion. All Wags adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip  and transport to the northeast. Story
Meet handsome Buddy, he is 7 years old.… Buddy is calm, and friendly. He is initially a tad nervous and would benefit from a family that has love and patience to give him. He is gentle with his treats and not very demanding of your time. Buddy came from a situation where his owner passed away - but even in life, Buddy was left to his own devices… he is now learning what it’s like to be part of a family, and enjoying the interactions. A calm home where he can be a couch potato would suit him just fine. Kids over 10-12 who know proper dog etiquette, Buddy would adore that. Buddy does need to make up for all the love he lost out on, so that’s only fair - we’re hopeful that in his later years we can find someone to offer him the loving companionship that he has been looking for.. Buddy will be an amazing addition to a family that gives him some time to come out of his shell and has a low key, calm household. He will be a super easy dog who would demand nothing more than a soft bed, two square meals and humans who love and adore her like he deserves. If you are interested in Meeting this wonderful boy.. please contact Sandy or The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue - thur www.swpapyr.org, or respond by e-mail - Buddy will LOVE you for it! We will also need you to fill out our adoption survey - Buddy will need an above ground fence for safe play and exercise. We are looking for homes in the surrounding Pittsburgh area. Story
Meet Biff, This wonderful boy is about 3.5 months old and already weighs approximately 45 lbs! With his last round of vaccinations less than a month away, adoption time is quickly approaching. Biff is a fun-loving character who enjoys playing with other dogs and spending time with people. He will be up to date on his shots and microchipped. Biff loves to wiggle between our legs for extra attention, get “butt drums,” and cuddle on the couch with our kids and any kid he meets. He reminds us of Thumper because when he gets excited, he hops to you with both front paws, stomping them on the ground. Biff loves car rides, and as part of his upbringing, he has been a mascot of sorts at the local school, bringing victory to some home games and laughter to the students. He is very well socialized. Are you ready to meet the perfect pet for you and your family? If you are interested in meeting this wonderful, beautiful boy, please contact Sandy or The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue through www.swpapyr.org, or email. Story
Allow us to introduce you to Chip, an adorable 8-month-old Great Pyrenees boy who is looking for his forever home. Chip is up to date on his shots and is microchipped, ensuring that he is ready for a safe and healthy life with his new family. Chip is a little shy and would do best in a quieter home where he can feel secure and loved. A confident house dog to show him the ropes would be an ideal companion for Chip, helping him to build his confidence and feel at ease. This sweet boy enjoys the usual activities, such as long walks, snuggling sessions, and even discussing world events (he's quite the conversationalist!). For Chip's sake, families with small children may not be the best option, as he thrives in a calm and serene environment. Are you ready to meet this wonderful and beautiful boy? If you are interested in giving Chip the loving home he deserves, please contact Sandy or The Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania Rescue through www.swpapyr.org, or respond by email.
