Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet BOLT!  Bolt is a handsome Pyr mix who is about 1-2 years old and weighs 65 lbs.  Bolt came into rescue after being taken to a shelter by a family that said he had grown to be "too big".  Bolt is a sweet guy, he loves people but he can be dog selective, he would do best as an only dog. He seems to be fine around cats.  Bolt is working on his leash skills and other basic training, he is a smart boy and is doing well.  He can get excited when meeting new people and greet them with hugs (jumping) but settles down quickly. He would love to find a forever family soon!  Bolt is currently in Texas but can be on the next NW transport.   All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Adoption Fee: $175 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959   Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 11:49 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet SARGENT! Sarge is a playful, goofy, and loving Great Pyrenees / Lab mix. He is just under 3 years old and on the smaller side for his breed, weighing in at 65 pounds.   Sarge loves playing and roughhousing and would love to find a home with another friendly dog to show him the ropes and help get his energy out! Once acquainted, he gets along with friendly dogs of all sizes. He’s a great adventure buddy and would love an active forever home that will take him on walks and hikes. He LOVES going for his daily walks and does pretty well on a leash. He’s a very curious boy and enjoys taking his time on walks to smell the roses and observe what’s going on. He does have a prey drive and occasionally pulls when he sees rabbits or squirrels.   Once he’s gotten all of his energy out, he enjoys snoozing on the couch or in the yard with his favorite squeaky stuffed animal. He is very sweet and tender-hearted. He loves to be near his people and will often follow you from room to room. He prefers not to be in a crate and sleeps nicely on a dog bed in his foster parents’ bedroom at night.   True to his Great Pyr forebears, Sarge can be vocal and talkative at times, and he will let you know if he hasn’t had enough playtime. He likes to patrol and will alert bark to let you know someone is near the house or yard.  His expressive talking and sassy side-eye constantly make his fosters laugh.   He can be wary of strangers of all ages (both people and other animals) but warms up once he learns they’re friendly. He likes to have his personal space respected so would prefer a home with older children or adults only. Sarge is untested with cats.   Sarge does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where he isn’t left for long periods of time. Having another friendly dog around seems to help put him at ease. He would benefit from patient and consistent positive training to help him be his best self! He is food motivated, which is great for training. His forever home must have good fencing as he can easily climb shorter fencing.    Sargent is currently being fostered in Seattle, WA. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.  Adoption Fee: $275 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Miles! Miles is a handsome guy who was rescued from the streets as a young puppy. Miles is about 80 pounds and is a healthy, happy dog. Miles gets along with everyone, cats included. His crate is his safe space, and he eats and sleeps well and with no issues. Sometimes he goes to his crate to decompress when the house gets a little loud. He loves to jump on the trampoline He uses a chair to climb up and jump with the kids. He is good with kids. He does counter surf but has gotten much better and "down" is all it takes to remind him of his manners. He would love to be someone's snuggle buddy. He would be okay even with someone elderly- he is very chill. Miles is currently in Texas but can be on the next transport! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Here’s Della!  Della is mom of the “Perry Mason” litter from the large rescue in the PNW over the summer.  Della is a little over a year old and came from a difficult environment.  She is a sweet girl who deserves a better life.  Just a baby herself, she is looking for a foster or adopter willing to put in the time to show her how a dog’s life can be with a loving family.  She is a beautiful girl who will play hard to get while she’s trying to figure out if she can trust you or not, so kindness, consistency and a calm and loving environment will go a long way.  She has shown ZERO aggression and will panic a little if she feels unsafe and it’s understandable for what she’s been through.  She was SUCH a good mama taking care of her puppies, most have been adopted.  She will need help with all the things, feeling safe, leash walking, riding in a car and learning how to play and be a dog.  Do you have the heart and environment for Della?  She deserves so much more and we are so hopeful she will find her forever.  Is it you?   Pyrenees experience as well as shy-dog experience necessary for this sweet & quirky girl! All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jasper is still available !  We’re not sure why folks haven’t been inquiring about his super sweet boy?!   Jasper is a 7 1/2 yr old  Great Pyrenees/Lab Mix and would love a calm and soft place to land.   He  absolutely loves anyone that wants to love on him and would make a great companion either on a walk or hanging out at home watching your favorite movie.   He is well trained and knows  "Sit, Stay, Down, and Come” and unlike some selective Pyrs, he actually listens (must be the lab in him ).  Jasper’s  vet says he’s perfectly healthy and he has some great healthy habits such as good food and exercise.  He’s had dog friends and does well with proper introductions (like most dogs) and he adores the kitties he lives with in his current home. When he’s not outside you might find him snoozing in the house.   Jasper would love a calm adult home or a home with mature teens.  He doesn’t require much and in return, will be an amazing companion with his person or people.   Jasper is being fostered in Gig Harbor, WA and he is hoping to see you soon! Tally is a very sweet affectionate dog. She is currently homed with a cat and they get along well. She seems to get along with other animals too. House trained and knows various commands, and plays catch. She would love a home with a family that can be more active with her than myself, and a fenced yard to run around in. I was told she is probably about 8 years old.

Story
Due to a baby on the way and relocation, I need to rehome this fun loving dog named Bear. -He is about three and a half years old. -He is mostly Great Pyrenees and Siberian Husky -He’s in North Austin, TX -$25 rehoming fee -He was neutered, chipped and up to date on vaccinations. -He’s a big goofball. Loves to play with people and dogs. -He's a great running and exercise partner. ! -He never barks at or starts trouble with other dogs out and about, but is protective of his home. -Is great with kids. -he has amazing breath - no scent at all! He chews a lot and is very mouthy - lots of licks. -I adopted him from a college student when he was 9 months. - Bear is very chill most of the day, but does require some playtime and a walk daily and would do best with a family that can provide him some attention and interaction. -He has amazing control of bladder and has a very infrequent need to pee. Never had an accident. -He has brightened my life, and will for you and your family too!

Story
Meet Spinach, a charming and playful pup with a unique feature - he has only one eye! But don't let that fool you, as he is full of energy and loves to play tug of war and chase flies in the great outdoors. His goofiness is sure to keep you entertained, especially when he tries to clumsily jump on the couch or shows his excitement through hilarious facial expressions. Spinach is a well-trained dog, he is house-trained and has mastered the "sit" command. He responds well to positive reinforcement and is highly motivated by food... aren't we all? However, Spinach needs to live in a household with adults and kids old enough to respect his space when he is eating and understand that he doesn't like to share his things. But don't let that discourage you, as he is a loyal and loving companion who will make an amazing buddy on walks and romps around the backyard.

Story
Are you an adventure lover in need of a sidekick? Then look no further than Tara! This black and white speckled beauty loves to explore in the great outdoors. Whether you're in the mood for a swim, run, hike or just a leisurely stroll, Tara is up for it! If the weather's not cooperating, she likes to exercise her brain, learning new skills through training. She's already mastered "sit, "lay down and "kennel up". While she loves to be active, Tara knows the importance of rest and relaxation. She's happy to spend her days napping or entertaining herself with toys. She loves attention from her people and is especially fond of chest scratches, but she isn't needy about it. She's a well-behaved houseguest -- perfectly housetrained and trustworthy when left home alone. Tara could potentially live with a well-matched small dog, but she would thrive as the only pet in an adult-only home. (Kids can be pretty scary to her, so she prefers to hang with the grown-ups). She'd love a house with a yard to run around in, but she's flexible. So if you're looking for a reason to get outside and get moving, let Tara be your motivation. Every adventure is sure to be greater with this sweetie by your side!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, I’m Zira!  My foster Mom has a fondness for nicknames so I’m also referred to as Miss Z and Z-girl!  I’m told I’m an Anatolian Shepherd mix, and was born around 1/24, although a girl doesn’t like to talk about her age! I’m super sweet, curious, and smart.  I love people and getting pets from them. I wag my tail at everyone I see. I learn quickly and am food motivated. Currently my favorite things are walks, and hanging out in the backyard chewing on sticks, pine cones, and my squeaky toys.  I get along with other dogs, like to play, and am fine with cats.  I’m crate trained, walk well on a leash, and doing great with potty training. My ideal home would have another medium to large size playful dog to help mentor and integrate me into my new environment.  OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) These puppies can be livestock dogs to farms and homesteads experienced in training LGDs. They also must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience. 5) Secure and visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. Adoption Fee: $375 All of our puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. Transport Fee: Transport fee has been sponsored by Zira's foster family. All of our puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 11:49 am
