Story
** If you are interested in adopting Honey, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Honey! Honey was brought into an overcrowded, high kill shelter in Pampa TX after being picked up as a stray. Luckily for Honey, our Pampa rescue partners scooped her up out of the shelter and she has now arrived to Colorado to find her perfect forever home. Honey is believed to be about 1 year old and she's just 13 lbs. She is a gorgeous, silly Italian Greyhound mix, with possibly some chihuahua as well. Honey is dog friendly, sweet with people, and so adorable! She is also great with kids 8+! From Honey's foster: "Honey is a sweet little dog! She was shy when she first came home, but she is much better, not shy with us at all anymore! She plays around and loves toys. Very playful once she warmed up. Still gets a little scared for a second if we move too fast around her or if she hears a loud sound. She loves other dogs! She would LOVE another doggy friend. She runs towards them on walks to say hello. She also is getting more comfortable with people walking past us on walks. We both think that since she has warmed up, she is acting a like a young dog! She love love loves toys and is interested in what is on our coffee table. She jumps onto the couch and seems very athletic with those long legs of hers! " We don't know if Honey has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. Honey has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.
