Coco is 10 months, and his birthday is October 18, 2023. He’s a great companion who loves to play, run outdoors, and for walks. He’s trained to use the restroom and has been trained to listen to commands. He's energetic and would enjoy another dog companion. He can be mischievous when left alone so he definitely benefits from socializing.

Story
We adopted Sophie 7 years ago from a shelter, who told us she wasn't treated the best by her previous owners. She is still a very nervous and skittish dog, but incredibly sweet and goofy. We do not want to put her back in a shelter, so hopefully we can find another loving home for her. She is 10 years old, so technically a senior, but doesn't act old at all. She's healthy with no problems and isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

Story
Carnation is a 12 year old siberian husky who we rescued from the Downey Shelter on October 16, 2023. She is the sweetest, most people friendly dog. She loves to give kisses!  They said she is 12. She doens't act that old!  She is spry, loves her walks and likes to play with toys! She is super friendly with people.  She is dog friendly and lives with our pack. Occasionally when meeting a new dog she will jump on their neck to say, hello, but is not aggressive nor does she bite the dog.   When she first arrived she was not spayed and had a huge tumor in her eye. As can be guessed, she was leary of dogs and "greeted" them with a growl,   She has been spayed and had her tumor removed.   our sanctuary is supposed to be for old, hospice dogs, not spry playful young at heart dogs. So when she gets a forever home, we will have space to save another senior dog. ##1851635##

Story
HIRO is a friendly, affectionate, and strikingly handsome 5 year old male Japanese/American Akita. He was surrendered to rescue after his family had to relocate to Korea and were unable to take Hiro with them. Hiro is a medium-large sized Akita, and weighs about 80lbs. He has a beautiful, soft, shiny blond coat and the sweetest, brightest dark brown eyes.  Hiro was very socialized as a young Akita, and has an easy-going temperament. He loves walks, car rides, or just hanging out with you. He would love nothing more than to be your loyal, lifelong, companion.     Visit our website at www.akitaangels.org. Story
Ruger is an incredibly handsome 4 year old purebred American Akita. He is friendly to new people, affectionate with those he knows, and likes to play tug-o-war! When it's time to sleep, Ruger carries his "baby" (stuffed animal) around and then snuggles up with it.  Before coming into rescue, Ruger lived in a home with kids, and another dog. We think he would be happiest being an only dog, and in a home with  Like most Akitas, Ruger will do best in a home without other dogs, or children under the age of 18. Story
Awwooooo!!! Adopt me!   LAKOTA is an affectionate, gentle, playful (and at first - a little bit shy). but is now available for adoption to the public!!   Background: Lakota was picked up as a stray on 7/27 and brought to a shelter. He was thin and leggy, and originally thought to be a wolf hybrid (and therefore rescue only to wolf-sanctuaries). He stole our heart and we advocated for him by presenting info to the staff which gave them the resources to properly phenotype him. We also presented his photos & videos to other rescue groups that specialize in Northern breeds who also weighed in. Our favorite, wolf-sanctuary-sister-rescue and friend, Dr. Lorin Linder, Ph.D., MPH. of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center also reviewed the photos/videos and provided her expert opinion to the shelter. He's now been properly labeled as an Alaskan Malamute mix and because of his lovely, friendly temperament, can become the forever companion to a very lucky person or family.   Despite all of Lakota's people-friendly qualities, Lakota is reactive to other dogs so only adopters with experience with strong, Northern breed dogs will be considered, and he will not be placed in a home with other dogs or pets.
