Story
Tank is a beautiful 1 ½ year old, 64 pound boy with gorgeous eyes of two different colors. He’s a playful and energetic guy who loves going on walks and is already doing well with his leash training. Tank has been walked alongside our other shelter dog, Minnie, and they both did very well although they didn’t get to come nose to nose. They both stayed relaxed, with tails wagging, and didn’t really pay much attention to each other. He has also shown no aggression towards his kennel mates through the chain link. He was however in a dog fight with another of the shelter dogs. He didn’t seem to be the aggressor, and it was with Titus who had already shown dislike and aggression towards him through the chainlink. Titus has gotten along with every other dog, but he didn’t like Tank for some reason. They ended up getting walked by some less experienced volunteers who ended up walking those two at the same time without keeping enough distance between them. Nobody was injured and they were able to break them up, and he’s been his friendly self ever since. Since the fight he has been tested with another of our female dogs and they walked very well together and came in for a sniff with no problems. They were happy to walk alongside each other with tails wagging, and they stayed calm and friendly throughout their nose to nose meeting. Unfortunately Tank has tested positive for Lyme Disease, but he’s still a happy guy who isn’t showing any negative side effects. He would love to find the perfect family to give him a chance.

Story
Slate was born on 6/25/2023 and is a Siberian Husky. He is current on immunizations, heartworm, and flea control. He will go into his crate well, especially for bed time. He needs to be crated when alone, or at night for bed time. I use positive training methods with him, and he is treat motivated. He is a little shy with new people until he gets to know you. He walks best with a harness, although he does wear a collar. The harness is less traumatic to build his confidence. It would be beneficial for him to have another canine friend. He has been easy to correct, and enjoys belly rubs. He has done well with my 8yr. old female siberian. I do not recommend a home with cats, small animals, or young children. I do prefer that any potential owner have knowledge/experience with the breed. He is not neutered yet, but that is on the agenda. Slate sleeps out of his crate now. He lays his head on me, or touches my face to wake me up to be let out.
