Story
Hi, I'm looking to surrender my 5 year old male husky mix. I adopted Kratos from my neighbors family member. I thought I was adopting a healthy dog utd on shots. I was also told that I'd have help watching him/ letting him out. Turns out I don't. It's really a mess. Within 3 days of having Kratos I notice he has something going on with his ears. Turns out it was a staph infection. He's been treated for that. With that standing bill I cannot afford to take him back to the vet. He's losing tuffs of hair paws are red. I feel awful for having to give him up. I know for sure I'm his 3rd owner. Kratos is really a great dog. He's very smart. Loves kids, walks, car rides. Doesn't care to much for cat's. Pretty much ignores them to a point. Has nipped. But never bitten my cats. Kratos does guard his food bowl towards other animals, as he was attacked by another dog.Kratos is not aggressive towards people at all. Wants to be everyone's friend. Just needs someone to give him a chance.

Story
Hi all! I came to the shelter with a buddy, we used to play together before he got adopted. I am so happy to meet new people and I can get jumpy at times, but am usually pretty gentle. I like running and checking out everyone and everything here at the shelter, you could call me curious. I just want to see everything and find where they hide the treats, I haven't found them yet but I'll keep looking. I will need some training, I can get very food motivated to the point I lose focus on people and will do anything to get into the food here at the shelter. I would probably do very well in a home with another dog and older children, since I still jump up on people when I get excited. If you are interested in adopting this adorable 5 month old 42 pound girl, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 815-858-2265 or email us atsafehaven1471@gmail.com. Dog adoption donations are $200 which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, Heartworm test, Lyme test, Bordetella, flea & tick preventative, heartworm prevention, deworming, and microchip. Coaster! We've never ever met such an obedient, people pleasing, lover of ALL attention, cuddle bug of a husky in our LIVES! Coaster LOVES human affection, praise, and especially treats & cuddles! He has the silkiest of coats, at only about 5.5 years old, and 60 or so pounds! Making him the PERFECTLY portable pooch that is essentially a big, fluffy, stuffed animal who always has a wiggly butt! This lovable boy also knows all the basics, making adopting him, no chore! He sits, she lays down, he walks on the leash great, he sleeps nicely in his crate, and LOVES car rides! What more could you ask for? Not even mentioning how amazing he does with kids, AND all other dogs he doesn't mind much of anything! He's too busy being the most happy-go-lucky dog around! It goes without saying, he also never takes much serious, every aspect of life is glee with him around; constantly making us laugh, and love him even more! This delightful medium-sized guy is ready to join your family, if you don't mind a little bit of the husky fluff that's well worth it! My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter! Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!! Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, compromising the immune system, & behavioral concerns. Story
Meet Jade! Jade and her siblings came to us in pretty rough shape from a kill shelter in Oklahoma. After some much needed TLC, they are healthy and ready for their forever homes! Jade is an approx 14 week old Husky mix. She is our blue eyed beauty and sweetheart of the group. She adores affection and always wants attention and to be loved on. She is super friendly and playful! She enjoys playing with toys and splashing around in her puppy pool. She loves kids and other dogs. Jade will make a great family dog, hiking partner, adventure pal, you name it! Jade will require daily mental and physical stimulation/exercise. We require she goes to an active household with a yard to run around in. She would love another active dog or older kids to play with, but not required. We are looking for a forever home that is dedicated to providing the proper training and exercise Jade will need. She will not stay little forever! She will need to work on basic obedience and potty/crate training in her new home - like all puppies do! Jade is current on age appropriate vaccinations, monthly prevention, deworming and is microchipped. She will be adopted with a spay contract and adoption fee of $450 with a $100 reimbursement upon proof of spay. Jade is currently fostered in Mount Carroll, IL and we are happy to transport for meet and greets with approved applications! If interested in adopting Jade, please complete our adoption application linked below (you may have to copy and paste the link into a new browser), thank you!
