Story
We picked up Aspen on our way here from VA when we moved about 2 years ago. He’s very energetic and is a well behaved boy when he gets the proper amount of attention. He really just wants to play all the time. He would do really well with an adult or teenager who can be active with him. He likes kids but I wouldn’t say he’s the greatest with them because he doesn’t realize how much bigger he is than them and has accidentally knocked the kids over when playing. We have 3 cats and he likes them and wants to play but our cats aren’t fond of him so we keep them away. He has had a little experience with a well trained/fixed service dog who also wasn’t fond of him because of how much he wanted to play. When playing he loves to run a whole lot and will play nibble but not too rough for some old enough to handle him. He responds to simple commands and is crate/potty trained. Like said, he’s a good boy and we’d keep him but we now a family of 7 and don’t have the free time for him.

Story
Frank is a beautiful boy and VERY affectionate once he knows you. He jumps all over you trying to lick your face. He will bark when he sees strangers and strange dogs approaching, but does great when he is with dogs and after he gets used to new people. Frank has never learned to walk on a leash. His experiences in life have been very limited so far.

Story
New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue is a volunteer based rescue, we work very hard to help as many adoptable GSDs as possible. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters across the country, so sadly we do not have any background information on them.....but we work very hard to get to know each and every dog brought into our program in need of a new beginning in their lives. We do not take animals with aggression problems (some may not like other dogs, cats, or may require older kids as opposed to younger children, but we will let you know everything that we know) most of these beautiful dogs have been faithful and loving family pets for their entire lives, yet still have lost their homes and families through no fault of their own. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to one of these amazing dogs please fill out our adoption application at https://www.newbeginningsrescue.com/adoption-application and we will get back in touch after we get it processed. If you don't hear from us in 3 days, please send us a gentle reminder and one of us will get right on it. Please indicate the dog you are interested in meeting, where it says preference on the application! You may also email julie@newbeginningsrescue.com , we are always happy to answer any questions you may have. If you give them your heart, they will give you theirs.  August 19, 2024, 12:20 am
