Hi my name is Valkyrie. I am a 6.5 year old Husky mix. I originally came into the shelter as Chucha, I was adopted for about a year, but sadly was brought back with a new name. Im very sweet, independent and food motivated, but at times I can be stubborn. I love to nap and lunging around until someone brings out the peanut butter (I LOVE peanut butter). My name is Houdini. I am a 2 year old Husky and I got my name for a reason. I have escaped almost every kennel at GCAO without leaving a trace of how I did it. I would make someone a great hiking buddy. I love walks, water, playing and being outside. I also love cuddling and getting all the scratches. I am good with some dogs, kids and people. I am not good with cats. I was adopted for about 6 months. My adopters surrendered me to another rescue where I escaped and was on my way up the road to GCAO when an officer picked me up and brought me back.

Hi my name is Candice. I am a 2.5 year old husky. I have short legs, but GCAO staff tell me it makes me even more adorable. I am okay with some dogs, but I can be food aggressive with other dogs. I am not good with livestock or cats. I love people, going for walks and playing. I do have a tendency to roam if given the chance. I am always happiest when I get to go for walks.

Porsche had been reported as a stray since January, who would be seen only for a moment trying to get a bite to eat. As time went on our animal control officer as well as many people noticed she was actually seeming pregnant. She went her whole pregnancy rarely ever being seen, until her babies were about a week old and she needed food. On May 22nd, our animal control officer saw her wanting food, told Porsche she needed to show where her babies were, Porsche then lead her directly to a porch where she then found 7 beautiful babies. We estimate the babies were around a week old May 22nd. They were so healthy and so cute, and poor Porsche was so skinny and so incredibly scared. Our hearts broke for her. As time went on, she got so comfortable with us and actually got to leave the shelter to a foster home when her babies were around 5 weeks, where she has been since.  3 of her 7 puppies have since been adopted, and other dogs with many inquiries.. but Porsche has been in our care 80+ days, with no applications.  If think you are the perfect family home for me, my friends would love to hear from you. Please contact them now at www.handsnpaws@outlook.com.  Each of our animals are microchipped, up to date on their vaccines, dewormed, and flea treated.  If it is age appropriate, they are spayed or neutered and given their rabies.  Unless it is otherwise noted in their medical history, our cats are not FELV/FIV tested.  This may be done at the request of an adopter and at their expense.  The adoption fee of each of our animals is listed underneath their pictures on their biography page.   If you would like more information, please click on the adopt button and fill out the Adoption form and that will be forwarded to the foster home so you can speak with them about the pet. Our adoptions are done on a first come first service basis unless a hold is placed on the pet(s).  The hold is for up to 7 days and may be done when the Adoption Contract is submitted.  You may place a hold by paying the Hold Fee of $25 per pet.  The Hold Fee of $25 is Non-Refundable and will be in addition to the Adoption Fee.  You may instead pay the full Adoption Fee which will also hold the pet(s).  After 7 days, if the pet(s) have not been picked up, any fees paid will be forfeited and will be considered a donation to Hands 'N Paws Animal Assistance.  ##2060793##
