Story
Artic is an easy-going, happy guy who's excited to meet everyone and explore new smells and places. He loves to roll in grass, snuggle and get butt scratches, and he's working on his jumping and big hugs that he gives to people when he greets them. Artic likes to chew on stuffed animals or leashes if he's bored, so we believe he'd do best in an active home where he can go on adventures that put his sniffer to work! Artic has been doing well playing with most dogs here at the shelter and loves to roll around with friends. He is currently located in a foster home with other dogs and doing well. Artic does not do well when left unattended due to some anxiety and will require a home with another dog. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. (http://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html) - Our shelter no longer has open visiting hours, so a pre-approved application and scheduled appointment is needed prior to meeting any of our animals

Story
Meet Laurel-she is a spayed 7mo old husky mix. Good with other dogs. How can you resist those ears? Here is what her foster mom has to say about herLaurel is ready to charm her way into your heart and home. She is a social butterfly who loves nothing more than playing with other dogs and people. Laurel is smart and treat-motivated. We are working on redirecting and controlling those puppy behaviors which is hard when there is so much fun to be had. At the end of each day, Laurel loves belly rubs and snuggles.

Story
Why HELLO! My name is Athena. I'm a Siberian Husky that is fully vetted, spayed, and about 5 years old. I don't act like it though. I LOVE my Rocky (squirrel) and Bullwinkle (moose) stuffies. I will occasionally chase sticks or balls, no guarantee that I'll bring them back though! If you catch me in the right mood, I WILL play fetch! I keep myself busy indoors with hard chewing toys and bones. I play well with other dogs. I love to run and play with them! I have a big kiddy swimming pool at my foster home, and I love to go in it. I don't know if I like swimming yet, but I am not afraid of water! If I'm in a group of dogs, and some dogs get aggressive, I'll hang back until they're happy again. I don't want to fight, I just want to play! If you're worried that I might want to play all the time-don't worry, I'm a huge couch potato too! What's your favorite show or movie to watch? Let's order in some gourmet dog food and watch it together! I love my foster girl and get super excited when she comes home from work. I get really excited and won't let her have a moment to put down her bookbag until I'm done saying welcome home! I do howl and bark, but I use my voice only when I have to. I'm not food aggressive, but I don't have a problem trying to sneak some food from one of my dog or cat foster siblings. Speaking of cats, I'm decent WITH AND WITHOUT supervision around my foster cat siblings. I'll snuggle with my blind cat foster sister before I go to bed every night. I like to lick her head to say hello in the morning. I would still appreciate a cat free home, as every now and again I still get swiped by a paw, from my other cat foster sister, when I get too curious. Need someone to lay on bed with you at night? I'm your gal! I lay really nice until you're ready to get up.... although if you're a lazy bone for too long....I might have to make you get up with my kisses and jumping on and off the bed. Once I'm settled for the night I'm going to stay where I am. I LOVE LOVE LOVE kids!!!! My foster girl babysits sometimes, and the first time I met a brother and sister, I followed them around everywhere and became protective of them when some guy calling himself their dad, came to pick them up. I didn't growl or snarl or anything, I just kept nudging the kids away from him. I walk AMAZING on the trails and on a leash. My foster girl has a skijour harness for me from previous huskies she has owned, and even though I don't like putting it on, I really like it for our walks. I do NOT chase other walkers, runners, or those on a bicycle. When on walks, if I see another dog, I will pull until I'm close enough to say hi to them. I am not aggressive with anyone I've met on a walk. I am very cautious and a little afraid of men. There was a mean man in my past, who wasn't very nice to me. He screwed it up for all the nice guys out there! With time, patience, and consistency, I could warm up to a man. I have no issues with male children under 14 that have been observed. Larger groups of mixed company, inside of a structure, make me a bit nervous. In these situations, I need someone who I can trust to be with me. If I'm in a large group of people outside, I'm not so nervous.

Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Meet Lucky Duck: The Handsome Husky with an eager to please. Name: Lucky Age: 1.5 years old Breed: DNA tested- Husky/Beagle Weight: 39 lbs Vaccination Status: Lucky is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, heartworm testing, until March 2025 ensuring his continued health and well-being. Ideal Home: Lucky is seeking a home where he can experience the comfort of love and affection from his humans, while also predictable routines throughout his day. He would do well as a walking/running partner, or just a companion for another doggo playmate. Lucky would do well with a fenced in yard, although through proper time for exercise, it’s not required. Compatibility: Lucky gets along well with young playful dogs, as well as dogs that can be tender and nurturing to continue to show him all the ropes about being a dog. He has a high prey drive, so cats, and small animals are not in Lucky’s future. It is believed Lucky could do well with dog savvy kids, but does not currently live with them now. Special Needs: We continue to work through some mild separation anxiety which is controlled through a predictable routine and currently medication. We do not believe Lucky will need to be on medication for the entirety of his life. Grooming: Lucky is part Husky and will require quarterly grooming appts as well as brushing at home, weekly. Training: Lucky has made GREAT progress since coming to us! He attends classes at Zoom Room Fog Training weekly with his foster mom. He is currently working on different techniques to focus on his foster mom while distractions are happening around him and he REALLY wants to see what those things are. ESPECIALLY pup friends! Lucky is learning he cannot instantly meet all the doggo friends he sees, and can watch the world go by. He has shown amazing successes! Lucky is currently being fostered with his brother (and 3 other dogs) who was adopted last summer. By some coincidence we found Lucky at an area shelter, brought him into our care, DNA tested him and they matched! Lucky’s adoption fee is $300, and to apply, please use link below Apply here: https://linktr.ee/uudogrescue DS# 403072
