Story
Age: 3 years Gender: Female Breed: Terrier Mix Weight: 20 lbs Personality: This little girlie is bundles of fun! She has plenty of playful energy and never says no to an adventure. She likes to go to cafes and restaurants and just sit with her person, after being comfortable with them. She gets along well with other dogs and tends to match their energy. She lives with two very bossy and dominant cats, and does great with them! Flotsam was rescued from the terrifying “shopping cart” situation in Tijuana, which left her nervous and reactive around sudden movements. For this reason, she probably wouldn’t be best with young kids. She is also hesitant around new people and may take time trusting. She needs someone who will respect her boundaries, let her have decompression time and let her initiate interaction when she wants. Once she does, she is affectionate and loving! Education: She is both house and leash trained and quite smart. Flotsam is fine when left alone as long as she gets a nice long morning and evening walk. She is still working on building confidence with new people and in new situations. The more love she gets, the more comfortable she will be! Favorite Activities: Did someone say walk? Flotsam will never turn down a stroll and loves getting out to explore. She adores fetch and having toys around. She loves her people and can’t wait to find a furever family. Looking for: A loving family with enough boundary and patience for decompression time. This peppy pup would love an active home that enjoys playtime. She would do best without kids as she gains her confidence and works on not reacting to sudden movements. Once she settles in, she is a total sweetie who is easy to fall in love with! Adoption Fee: $ 400 ##1733869##

Story
Meet the most fabulous tripod! Hello there! My name is Matilda, and I'm a resilient 2-year-old, 14-pound spayed female terrier mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that can't be held back. I may be a tripod, but trust me, I've got more love and zest for life than you can imagine. I had a rough start, found in TJ walking on my hind legs due to unbearable pain in my front legs. Thanks to the care and love of my rescuers, I'm now on the road to recovery. I have a bone fungal infection that requires ongoing medical attention, and I visit the Vet Specialist regularly. Don't worry, it's not contagious, and I'm on top of my medications. I will continue the medications (Terbinafine ~$15.00 for a months supply, Voriconazole ~$115.00 for 1 month supply, depending on market value and where purchased) for at least 3-6 more months, maybe longer. Long term monitoring with these medications would include rechecking her liver values every 2-3 months, as well as rechecking a coccidiodes fungal serology. Recheck x-rays in 3 months along with recheck labs at that time will allow the vet to determine when I can stop the two medications. I will also be on Dasuquin to support joint mobility (~$41.00 for 3 months supply depending on market value and where purchased) to keep me happy, healthy, and moving. I am fully bathroom and crate trained and working on leash walking. Now, let me tell you a bit about my wonderful personality. I'm a bit selective when it comes to furry friends, dogs and cats, just give me a slow introduction. I'm what they call a Velcro dog – I'll follow you everywhere, matching your energy whether you're in the mood for play or relaxation. I do have some anxieties, especially around new people and animals, so patience is key. Loud trucks and pushy pets aren't my favorite, and I prefer to have my humans' love all to myself. Despite my initial reservations, once I know you, I'm the ultimate companion, ready to be by your side 24/7. I'm pretty easygoing, enjoying lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, and playing with my toys. I'd thrive in a quiet home with my own space, maybe with a laid-back dog or cat who respects boundaries. In essence, I'm a gem of a dog, and I'm looking for a loving family to share my life with. If you're ready for a dog who will shower you with love and bring endless joy into your home, please consider giving me a chance. I promise, you won't regret it! If you work from home, that's even better – I need a potty break every 4ish hours. I'm okay being alone for about 4 hours, either crated or uncrated, but I do like to get my morning zoomies out and play with my stuffed animals. While I haven't met children younger than 10, I might be okay with older kids. If you're interested in making me a part of your family, please reach out right away! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##1765244##

Story
Finnegan is a purebred JRT. We purchased him from Wendover Farm Terriers in 2016. April Adams is the breeder. He is healthy, handsome, playful and energetic. He is kennel-trained and sleeps in it quietly every night. He knows his basic commands and is highly food/treat motivated. Not a fussy eater. He loves to walk on a leash 2-3 times daily and likes to hang out in our backyard but always wants to know where his people are. Unfortunately, he is sometimes aggressive towards small children and unfamiliar adults, especially if they approach him quickly. We are now caretaking two young grandchildren and have had a couple close calls. It is a heartbreaking decision, but we think we need to find him a new home with an older adult or couple who can give him all the attention, exercise and love that these wonderful terriers deserve.

Story
Meet Rushing Rascal! Rushing Rascal was entrusted to our care as part of our Final Wish Program. He and five other dogs from the same home arrived on April 19th after their dad passed away. Rushing Rascal is an all-around good boy and bundle of love! He is 11 years old and weighs about 20 lbs. Rushing Rascal is so confident and brave, you wouldn't know he is blind. On an outing to the beach with volunteers and other dogs, Rascal wasn't nervous about the water and waves at all. He actually led the way there! Rascal also enjoyed sitting and listening to all of the sounds, and he would have happily run off to explore them all. Rushing Rascal also went on outing with volunteers and a Frosted Friend to the local pet supply store and picked out treats. He earned rave reviews for being so sweet, friendly, and full of energy. He also rode nicely in the car and was an all-around great shopping companion! Rushing Rascal was chosen for a two-week Frosted Fling that has turned into a Foster home. We received a great report from his Foster Mom about what life with Rascal is like: "Our time with Rushing Rascal has just flown by! In fact, what was going to be a two week fling, has blossomed into a long term foster. Rushing Rascal will hang with us until someone decides to adopt him. We can't believe it has already been a month since he arrived at our house. Rascal has made it so very easy! He may be blind, but he needs no special care except for the love you'd give to any dog. Rascal walked into our house and made himself right at home. He mapped things out right away and navigates beautifully. He's very smart, intuitive, and empathic. He knows when someone needs love and will cuddle up to them. He would be fun to take to training classes. He's already learning what "turn right" and "turn left" mean on our walks. He loves music, in fact his previous human, who recently passed, used to play music on the piano for him. Prior to us picking him as a foster, Rascal spent time with Kelly and Andy, the founders of FFF, and during his overnight stay with them, Andy played the guitar much to this little doggie's delight. We also love music. While driving in the car we play a wide variety, ranging from 60s rock to 90s hip hop and current pop music. Rascal enjoys it all. He's well behaved in the car and most of the time he just naps for the duration of the ride. Rascal isn't a big fan of chicken or turkey, but he'll gobble up beef in all of it's tasty forms. After meals he's a big fan of an immediate nap, choosing the couch over going outside to play. His favorite things to fall asleep to are Bob Ross and 80s music. He's so sweet and gentle. He allows us to wipe his face, ears, and paws without any struggle. He has been great for baths and actually seems to enjoy the spa treatment A single person is easily able to wash and dry him with ease. He enjoys being lathered up while munching on beef jerky or hot dog treats. His biggest joy is outings! He will bounce up and down by the front door with the enthusiasm of a puppy when he knows its time to go. Rascal loves running around the park on sniffari or checking out tide pools on the beach. Thankfully, he does not have a tendency to pick up random icky things off the ground. Rascal is quite the independent little soul, but much prefers the company of humans. He does enjoy the company of the other dogs, but howls sadly if he realizes there's no humans present in the house. His singing voice is absolutely adorable. Meeting new dogs is no problem and he embraces each encounter with happiness and love. He had zero issues meeting our dogs and they all are getting along great. He's also good with our cat. Rascal is a cuddle monster! He loves to be touching someone (human or dog) all the time. We let the dogs sleep in bed with us and he loves that. Adopt this sweet lil guy and you will have yourself an adventure dog, a cuddle partner or travel buddy. He excels at all these things and more!" Does Rascal sound like the loving & fun best friend that you've been looking for? If so, email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule an appointment to meet him!

Story
Meet Henri! 12-year-old Henri was with his mom for over 11 years, and together, they went through a lot of changes. He first lived with his mom in a house with a yard, then in an assisted living apartment, and lastly, in a memory care facility. Sadly, Henri's mom is now unable to care for him anymore. After six weeks with a pet sitter, he was entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program on July 25th. Henri is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about him in a home environment. His Fling Mom reports: "Henri is calm, loves his morning and evening walks, loves people, is very friendly with any human, especially kids. He is not bothered by other dogs, unless they come close, then he complains for a few minutes, and everything is fine after the sniffing around each other. Henri sleeps by himself in his designated area (even though he complains for the first 2 minutes), and loves apple and watermelon as healthy treats. He knows a few commands, including "sit" and "stay". Henri only wants to shower you with love, stay as close as he can, and sleep!" Check back for the full report on Henri's Fling!

Story
Meet Maya! This cute little girl, only 9 pounds, is a cute and mischievous dog full of love. Found on the streets along with her 3 siblings, she was rescued when there was a report that a dog attacked one of her babies and she died. Maya is currently being trained to walk on a leash, but in her potty training she has done very well! She is very active, happy and loves to run at full speed! You'll be able to see a little flea fly just from how fast she runs, haha! She loves rope toys, treats, and huge beds to sleep in. She has very crazy hair, and that's what makes her adorable. You will fall in love with her little eyes from the first time, and although she is shy the first time, she adapts quite quickly to her new place. She knows how to sit down to eat and wait for her food, and she coexists very well with dogs and cats. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. Story
Butters' story began on the streets, where she was found wandering alone, searching for a safe place to call home. Despite her rough start, it was clear from the moment we met her that she had a heart full of love and an unbreakable spirit. When we adopted Butters, she quickly became the light of our lives. Her playful energy made every day brighter. Whether it was chasing after squeaky toys, enjoying belly rubs, or curling up next to us on the couch, Butters was always ready to share her love. But now, as much as it pains us to admit, we can no longer give Butters the love and care she deserves. Life has taken unexpected turns, and we want to ensure she continues to thrive in a home where she’ll be cherished. We’re searching for a loving family who can offer Butters the attention and affection she craves.
