Story
*I'm located in Georgia but can be transported* Name: Roxy Breed: Jack Russell Terrier Mix Sex/Age/Weight: Female/8 years old/10lbs Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Please see the special notes regarding Roxy's prior cancer diagnosis. House-trained/Crate-trained: I am fully house-trained and crate-trained, although my foster parents leave me out of the crate when they are not around. I spend most of my time sleeping anyways. Dogs/Cats/Children: I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I also don’t like cats very much. I have never been around children inside a home but I have met a couple on walks and I seem to like them. Energy Level: Low energy but I enjoy going on short walks. Before FAR/My History: Before coming to FAR, I was surrendered due to a cancerous mass. Since then, I have undergone three surgeries to remove the masses. There are no signs that the cancer has spread to other parts of my body. There is a possibility that the cancerous masses that were removed will come back. The type of cancer I had was an aggressive form of doggy breast cancer. However, I have been doing well and have been gaining weight under the care of my foster parents. Things I like: Cuddles, treats, and getting love. Things I don’t like: Loud noises. Ideal Family/Home: I am a senior dog with special needs, but I am still a loving and sweet companion. I am hoping to find a peaceful and comfortable place to spend my golden years. Special Notes: Roxy is a senior dog with special needs, and due to her cancer diagnosis may require extensive medical care. If you are interested in giving Roxy a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. Story
JosieBreed: Jack Russel TerrierFemaleDOB: 1/10/19Adoption Fee: $200Josie is a very sweet girl, who loves a snuggle and belly rubs. She was abandoned outside as a puppy, and has real anxiety about being outside. It is pretty sad to see, but we’re working through it. Inside though, she is a joyful dog that loves to lay by your side, play with toys, and is good with calmer dogs. She has a funny personality, and even likes to do a little dance for her supper. She understands sit, stay, shake, lay down, and is good on a leash. Josie is obviously a very smart dog, but the fear of going outside is her struggle in life, and as such, will need continued support in poty training. This is Josie's second time at the rescue. She has been in a foster home since October, where they are working to help her and love her, but she'll need someone to pick up where they leave off. She needs a patient and understanding adopter, who is able to work with her in a calm and loving environment. She really is a sweetheart, but so scared of being outside. This special dog needs a special someone to show her the way. Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Huckleberry is all energy from morning till night. He needs a very active family without small children. He is bossy, so he would do best as an only dog. He is very affectionate, but because he lived his first three years on a chain, he is still learning to play. He loves stuffed animals and blankets, and is doing well on his crate training. We would like to find him a family that understands the Jack Russell breed.

Story
Lacey was found with another dog at a local park, and we later learned she is a product of divorce and given away to someone who decided to dump them instead.   We believe she is around 3-4 years old, she gets the zoomies but calms down quickly.  She walks well in a leash and loves her treats. Shes confident and loves everyone she meets..she tolerates cats, loves car rides and is crate trained.  Lacey isn't so wild about baths but with some treat motivation would be ok. Most of the time she is very quiet and is a big cuddle bug. If you could be Lacey's hero, please apply to foster or adopt at buttsmutts.com ##2309331##
