Story
Hello! My name is Beau!I`ve been patiently waiting for a new home since March. I`m an energetic fellow looking for an energetic family that has the time for play and training! I am so smart, I love treats and will do almost anything for a good reward. I do get stressed and bark when I see dogs on walks, or exciting things like bikes. Being a Jack Russell Terrier, I come with springs in my feet and like to spring up when I get excited. I`m doing well with training and am excited to join a family that will keep up my training to help me be a happy and comfortable little man. If you enjoy agility or any other dog sports, I am definitely the dog for you!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No young children. Teenagers may be ok.OTHER DOGS: No, other dogs make me feel stressed.CATS: No, given my high prey drive.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required, unless it`s a rural property.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my reactions on leash.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: High.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Special note: As a side effect from measle, has tic symptoms, weak front legs and inablity to produce tears. Due to weak front legs, may have some amount of shaking but has no problem at all to go for a walk. Slippery floors may casue her to slip some times but other than that, there are no problems. Mary's left eye has a bit of murky makrs which are improving over time. She has been puting artifical tears to help it. Story
Mila is a 2 year old terrier/hound mix (likely JRT & Beagle) weighing approx 27 lbs. She loves her humans very much and is very playful and affectionate with them. Mila did not start her life off in a bad way but she did miss out on training, boundaries and socialization. For this reason, Mila has spent time with a professional trainer who has fallen in love with her. Unfortunately, there are limits to the number of dogs a person can have! She loves the outdoors and play time! She’s a very active girl and would do great with a dominant larger dog, she can be too rambunctious for a small dog. Mila is an excellent girl at home when you have to go out, just make sure you have the perfect window for her to neighborhood watch from! She is obviously a high energy girl but likes nothing more than to be tucked in beside her person on the couch!! She gives great hugs and kisses!! Mila will require an experienced owner and home without children under the age of 7. She loves kids but is still learning boundaries. Her adopter will be able to take advantage of some professional advise from her trainer in order to keep Mila improving. Training consistency will be key to keeping Mila on track with her progression. Mila is currently being fostered in Newmarket, ON. If you are interested in adopting Mila, please complete an application on our website: https://www.jrnc.org/adoption-application

Story
Currently in Vancouver!!! Meet Macy, a delightful 5-year-old spayed female terrier mix with an adorable brown and white coat, weighing in at 6.5kg. She’s the perfect combination of charm and tranquility, and her personality is sure to steal your heart. Macy might be a bit shy at first, but offer her a treat, and she’ll warm up in no time—letting you pet her and even showing her belly! While she’s not a fan of sudden movements or loud noises from children under 13, she’s otherwise gentle and approachable. She’s even comfortable being picked up when cradled properly. When it comes to other dogs, Macy is polite and curious, happily greeting them but preferring to stick to herself rather than joining in on rough-and-tumble play. She’s more at ease with dogs her size or smaller and tends to shy away from big or overly energetic ones. Even when provoked, Macy is the peacekeeper, quietly stepping away and showing little interest in canine drama. On walks, her focus is fully on her human, even when cats cross her path! Macy has a wonderfully low energy level and loves nothing more than relaxing at home. She’s a dream on walks, never pulling on the leash and happily matching her pace to yours. She’s quiet as a mouse, doesn’t guard her food, and is perfectly comfortable in a crate. While car rides can be a bit daunting for her, she’ll do fine if carried into the vehicle. Plus, she’s 100% potty trained for outdoor living—no mess, no stress! Macy’s foster journey has been incredible. Having started as a timid soul, she’s spent six months with a trainer and has made tremendous strides in overcoming her fears of people. Now, she confidently shows her belly to strangers and enjoys affection from those around her. She knows basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “paw,” and while she’s calm at home, she’s always ready for a cuddle or a stroll with her favorite humans. Maxy is great with grooming too—nail trimming, bathing, and even teeth brushing are no problem! If you’re looking for a mellow, sweet companion who’s ready to love and be loved, Macy might just be the perfect match for you! Story
Meet Jinju, a 6-7-year-old spayed female terrier mix with a charming black-and-white coat, weighing in at a petite 6.7 kg. This lovely girl was rescued from a municipal shelter and has since proven to be a true gem. Jinju is a social butterfly who adores people, whether they’re familiar faces or new friends. She warmly approaches strangers for pets and cuddles and even allows herself to be scooped up with ease. Her gentle nature extends to children under 13, whom she interacts with beautifully. When it comes to canine company, Jinju greets other dogs politely but prefers to observe rather than join in on the play. She’s most comfortable around dogs her size or smaller and feels a bit overwhelmed by high-energy companions or larger pups. That said, she’s not particularly interested in other dogs and is perfectly content to focus on her people. Cats and birds don’t seem to catch her attention during walks, but further observations can be made at request. Jinju is a low-energy, easygoing girl who loves nothing more than lounging peacefully indoors. However, she’s always excited to head out for a stroll and is a pro on the leash, walking calmly by your side without pulling. She’s also a quiet pup who rarely barks, doesn’t mind sharing her food or toys, and behaves beautifully in a kennel. While she typically prefers doing her business outside, she’s well-mannered enough to adapt to your routine. With her serene demeanor, affectionate personality, and love for human companionship, Jinju is the perfect blend of calm and cuddly. She’s happiest soaking up attention at home or enjoying leisurely walks with her favorite people. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home—could it be yours? Story
Quick Facts Name: Dino Aga: 1.5 years old Gender: Male Spayed: Yes Breed: Jack Russell Terrier Mix Colour: White & brown Weight: 10kg My Story Hey there, my future best friend! It's me, Dino, a little guy with a big heart and a knack for looking sharp-I mean, check out my natural "eye makeup"! I'm a fun-loving boy who can't wait to find a forever family to call my own! I'm a Jack Russell Terrier mix boy, only 1.5 years old, with a sleek white coat and adorable brown spots. I weigh 10 kg (22 lbs) and have a lot of love packed into my small frame! I started my journey at a shelter in Gangneung and was on the list for something called "euthanasia"-but a wonderful group of people stepped in to rescue me at just 7 months old. Now, I'm fully vaccinated and neutered, so I'm all set for my new adventure with you! My Social Side I'm a friendly guy, though I can be a little shy when I first meet people. But hey, offer me a treat, and I'll be your friend in no time! Once we've spent a few days together, I'll be rolling over to show you my belly and giving you all the snuggles you want. It might take me 3 to 7 days to feel completely at home, but then you'll have my whole heart. With other Dogs: I'm a pup who plays well with others, no matter their size! I'm open to making friends with bigger, smaller, or similarly-sized dogs. I've got a warm and welcoming attitude, so if you have other dogs, I'm ready to fit right in. Cats and Birds: I haven't met any cats yet, so I'm not sure how I'd react. Birds, though? Not much interest there. I'd rather stick close to my human and dog buddies! My Energy Level & Walks I have a moderate energy level, which means I enjoy outdoor time and play sessions but also love to relax afterward. I've been practicing my leash walking, and I'm getting the hang of it! Busy roads and loud sounds can make me a bit nervous, so I prefer calmer spaces where I can walk with confidence. Why You'll Love Me I'm a softie with a big heart! I share my food nicely with humans but might give a little growl if another dog gets too close to my bowl-just setting some friendly boundaries. I'm house-trained for both indoor pads and outdoor potty breaks, and my crate is my little sanctuary where I'll settle quietly on my own. When I'm exploring a new place, I might do a little marking, but hey, I'm just saying hello to my new surroundings! Last Message If you're looking for a buddy who's gentle, a little curious, and always ready for an adventure, I think we'd make a great pair. I've got lots of love to give and can't wait to bring a little extra joy to your life. Let's make each other's lives even better-I'm ready if you are!
