Story
Meet Ggamsik, a one-year-old neutered male Jindo mix with a striking black and white coat, currently weighing 12.5kg. He was rescued from euthanasia in a city shelter, and now has the chance to find his forever home—just like his sibling, Moong, who was adopted in Vancouver!
Ggamsik can be a little shy at first, but offer him a treat, and he’ll happily take it from your hand. He’s not one to shy away from pets, even from strangers, and once he warms up to you, he’ll gently lick your hand and quietly ask for more affection. Rather than being overly eager, he prefers to stay close and wait for you to notice him. He’s comfortable around men and shows no particular reaction to children under 13. You can even scoop him up with ease—he doesn’t mind being carried!
When it comes to other dogs, Ggamsik is a social butterfly! He enjoys greeting new canine friends and inviting them to play, especially if they’re around his size. He’s generally good-natured but finds high-energy dogs a little overwhelming. If another dog gets too rowdy, he’ll simply step away rather than engage in conflict. Independent yet friendly, he’s just as happy playing with others as he is doing his own thing.
Ggamsik has lived with cats before and barely pays them any attention. His energy level is moderate—he loves outdoor adventures but knows how to relax afterward. On walks, he’s a polite and steady companion, staying close to his person, especially if there are sudden movements or loud noises in the environment. Rather than getting startled, he tends to seek comfort by sticking by your side.
Food and toys? No resource guarding here! He’s happy to share, though if another dog hogs a toy, he might stand nearby and give a few barks to let them know he’d like a turn. He doesn’t suffer from separation anxiety and is generally quiet, only barking occasionally at outdoor noises. He’s well-behaved in a crate but does get a little carsick. Ggamsik is mostly an outdoor potty dog, but if he needs to go at night, he’ll politely alert you by barking to be let out. He doesn’t mark indoors.
With his gentle nature, social charm, and easygoing personality, Ggamsik is ready to find a loving home where he can be both a loyal companion and a sweet, independent spirit. Will you be the one to give him that chance?
