Story
Hello there! My name is Aleck, and I have an incredible story to share with you. Rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea in 2021, I narrowly escaped a life of unimaginable hardship. Now, I'm ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, joy, and endless tail wags. Here's a little more about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: male    Weight: 51 lbHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, Rarely Bark Despite the challenges I've faced in the past, my heart is full of love for humans. I'm a social pup who isn't shy around strangers - in fact, I quickly warm up to new faces and love making new friends. Even at the vet, I approached the nurses with confidence, eagerly accepting treats and showing off my friendly personality. I've been staying in a foster home since last March, and let me tell you, I've settled into home life perfectly. I'm completely house-trained and have no issues with separation anxiety. When my foster mom goes to work, I patiently wait for her to come back so we can go on our walks and have fun together. Whether it's a cozy condo or a spacious house, I know I'll fit right in and make myself at home. I get along well with other dogs, especially with gentle female pups. While I may be a bit reserved around male dogs, I'm friendly and enjoy saying hi and sharing space with my furry friends. I'm not much of a wrestler, but I love exploring the world and going for walks. I get so excited about our outdoor adventures that I voluntarily hop into the car because I know it means more fun times ahead. Recently, I even got to dip my paws into the sea water for the first time - what a thrilling experience! I do have a strong prey drive, so it's important to keep me leashed and away from cats, squirrels, and bunnies during our walks to keep everyone safe. I'm looking for a loving and understanding forever home where I can continue to heal and thrive. If you're an experienced pet owner who can provide a secure environment and help me manage my prey drive, I think we could be the perfect match. Let's shower each other with affection and create lasting memories together. I can't wait to find my forever family - could it be with you? Let's find out! Energy Level: I have a moderate energy level. I'm very calm at home. I like to chill out or take a nap. It doesn't mean I don't like walks. I love walks! I'm not nervous in new areas. I'm curious and adventurous. I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: No Kids: Yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety and I don't have escape tendency. Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1823851##

Hi there, I'm Cumin! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo/Shari-Pei MixAge: 1.5 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 75 lbHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely bark, no escape tendency, no sign of aggression  My journey began in a city pound when I was just a tiny 2-week-old puppy, alongside my mom and siblings. We were lucky to have a young and caring mom who raised us all to be healthy and happy pups. I inherited a bright and friendly personality from her, and I love playing with my friends and toys. I'm a gentle soul who enjoys the company of others. If I find a special toy, I like to have some quiet time to play with it in a cozy corner. I get along well with other dogs, and I'm always up for a good play session. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to making new feline friends. I have a moderate energy level, so I enjoy outdoor activities but also appreciate some calm relaxation time at home. I may be a bit unsure and scared when it comes to new experiences like walks, but with the right family to guide me, I know I can learn to enjoy exploring the world around me. I haven't shown any signs of aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, or escape tendencies. And while I'm not housetrained just yet, I'm eager to learn and please my new family. If you're looking for a sweet and kind companion to join your family, I could be the perfect match for you. I promise to bring lots of love, joy, and tail wags into your life. Let's create some wonderful memories together! Energy Level: Moderate  I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Unsure, however as per short encounter with a cat, he will most likely be ok Kids: Unsure Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Hi, I’m S’more! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 MonthsGender: Female    Weight: 18 lb (I'm still growing)Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, social I may be a little unsure of the world right now, but I’m learning that it’s not such a scary place after all! I started my life in a city pound with my three siblings, all of us without our mama. We waited for someone to take us home, but for two long months, no one came. Then, just before we were scheduled to be euthanized, some kind humans rescued us. Now, I’m safe in a foster home, learning, growing, and figuring things out—one paw at a time. With people, I’m very gentle. I’m getting used to being petted and lifted, and while I still get nervous outside, my foster mom is helping me learn about all the exciting things out there—like meeting new friends, going for car rides, and even walking on a leash! I recently visited the Seoul airport, and wow, that was a big adventure! I absolutely love other dogs! Playing with my siblings is my favorite thing, and I get along well with new dog friends too. I’ve also met some cats and didn’t mind them at all. At home, I have lots of puppy energy and love to run and play. But when I’m scared outside, I sometimes freeze or lie down—I just need a little patience and encouragement. I never show aggression, I don’t guard my food or toys, and I rarely bark. I also don’t try to escape, and I don’t seem to have separation anxiety. I’m still working on housetraining, and car rides make me a little nervous, but I’m trying my best! I was given a second chance at life, and now I’m searching for a loving family to help me continue my journey. If you think we’d be a good match, I’d love to meet you! Could you be my forever home? I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: YesKids: Unsure Energy level: High as I'm still in my puppyhood Fears: Non observed . Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Hi, I’m Madeleine! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 MonthsGender: Female    Weight: 15 lb (I'm still growing)Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, happy, playful I’m a sweet, shy little pup with a big heart and a hopeful spirit. Last January, I ended up in a city pound with my three siblings. We were just tiny babies—around two months old—and sadly, our mama wasn’t with us. We waited and waited for someone to choose us, but no one came. After two long months, when time was almost up, a kind rescue saved us from euthanasia. Now I’m living in a foster home with my siblings, learning all about how wonderful life can be. I’m still a bit unsure around new people and situations, but I’m trying my best every day. When I start to trust you, I’ll let you pick me up and snuggle me. I’m still getting used to the outside world—cars, walks, and new places can feel overwhelming, and I often tuck my tail or freeze when I’m scared. My foster mom is gently helping me gain confidence, one little step at a time. Even though I’m a bit shy, I love playing with my doggy siblings. Other dogs make me feel happy and safe, and I’m very respectful and friendly with them. I even spent time with a few cats and didn’t bother them at all! I’m still in my puppy phase, so I’ve got lots of energy at home—I zoom, I play, I nap, and repeat. I’ve never shown any aggression or guarding behavior, and I don’t bark much at all. I’m also not an escape artist or particularly anxious when left alone. I do get a little nervous in the car, and I’m still working on house training and walking confidently on a leash. But hey, I’m a work in progress, and I’m learning more every day! If you have a calm, patient home (maybe with another friendly dog?), I think we could be a perfect match. All I need is time, love, and a gentle hand to help me grow into the brave, happy dog I know I can be. Love, Madeleine I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: YesKids: Unsure Energy level: High as I'm still in my puppyhood Fears: Still nervous about outer world . Story
Hello everyone. My name is Haidi and here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: Female    Weight: 43 lbHeight: 48 cmHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, rarely bark It was the end of November 2021 when I was rescued from a dog meat farm and slaughter house. Before rescued, I was tied up to a heavy metal chain and forced to watch other dogs being slaughtered. I was immensely shocked. I was too scared. I ate my puppies as soon as I gave birth to them. After rescued, my rescuer weighed the metal chain. It was 1.7kg!!!  When my rescuer removed my old collar, my skin around the neck was peeled off. I love all nice human friends. When they pet me, I feel so good. I hope it never ends. My rescuer said my smile is my best feature. I'm not very interested in playing with new dogs. I tend to briefly say hi and mind my own businesses. I'm a bit jealous when another dog is getting attention from my person. My appetite is high, with no resource guarding issues towards people but I can growl at other dogs if they come close. Best to feed me separately. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety, no car sickness and I rarely bark.                                        A year ago, I showed aggression to 3 dogs among 70-80 dogs. I don't remember why I did that and nobody saw the moment. After I spent a lot of time around other dogs, I'm more comfortable around other dogs. Even though I've been doing well around other dogs, my handler thinks I'd be better in home that I'd be the only dog.  Energy Level: I have a low energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities and like to rest/calm at home after walks.  At a dog park, I don't like running. I walk around and after a while, I'd like to lie down and take a rest. During walks, I'm quite confident and curious. I'm  not scared of passing cars, buses, and trucks.I'm very good at jumping into a car. I get along with:Dogs: yes but a home that I can be the only dog and get all the attention is preferred Cats: Unsure as I haven't met a cat yet. Kids: yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. Story
Hi, I'm Chex! Your Future Best Friend in the Making! Breed: Jindo mixAge: 1 Year 9 MonthsGender: Male    Weight: 37 lb   Height: 51 CmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, social Life's been a bit of an adventure for me. I was found hurt at the entrance of a condo with a torn ear and some wounds on my body. The kind person who found me tried their best to reunite me with my owner but couldn't find them. Since then, I've moved around a few places, and now I'm staying at a doggy hotel/school while waiting to find my forever home. Here's a little more about me: People Lover Extraordinaire:I'm a social butterfly! I warm up quickly to strangers, especially if they have treats. I absolutely love snuggles, belly rubs, and any attention from humans. I'm gentle with kids too! Dog-Friendly Vibes:I’m great with other dogs and approach new doggy friends gently and politely. I get along with dogs of all sizes as long as they're not too hyper. If another dog tries to pick a fight, I’ll usually just walk away. If I’m rejected, I might bark a little, but that’s all! Cool with Cats:I lived with cats for about a month. They mostly kept their distance, but when we did cross paths, I wasn’t reactive. Energy & Activity:I have a medium-high energy level and love outdoor adventures. I enjoy walks, though I sometimes pull on the leash. My trainer says I’m improving! I can sit for food and happily hop into a car for a ride. Good Manners: No aggression issues No resource guarding with humans (but I may growl if another dog approaches my food) 90% housetrained No escape tendencies Rarely bark Things to Work On:I sometimes whine in a crate but settle down eventually. If I have pent-up energy, I might be noisier in the crate. Balance is important for me — too much affection could lead to separation anxiety. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, and friendly dog who will adore you forever, I'm your guy! I can't wait to meet my forever family and share all the love I have to give.
