Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay via Zelle, PayPal, or cash. The shelter where Oz came from was asked by Chosun TV, one of Korea’s cable networks, to be a consultant for one of the programs called “Signal: for rescue” for one of its episodes that deal with exposing one of Korea’s illegally established dog meat butchers. Without their consent, though, the TV producers had 10 dogs (one pregnant at the time) rescued from the dog meat butcher resettle at their shelter. Oz is one of the puppies that was born after coming to their shelter. But she wasn’t spayed in time so she got pregnant at the shelter and gave birth to two dogs. Oz was not able to take proper care of either of them, the puppies were eventually taken to a foster home and now both of them live in the States, thanks to American rescues that wanted to take them in. Oz was left alone at the shelter in Korea, but the shelter said they didn’t have the connections or expertise to get these big rescues from the dog meat trade properly publicized for adoption. Oz was supposed to have been placed at a bigger organization in Korea, but the TV producers did not follow up, nor did they take responsibility for the 10 dog’s adoption afterwards. So we gladly said we would help the oh so beautiful Oz who is looking to find that very special home to cherish her as she should be adored. Oz was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies & there is also such a great financial responsibility when rescuing these babies so we cannot begin to thank them enough. Oz was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Talk about absolutely stunning, Miss Oz is such a beautiful girl. This poor girl was ganged up on in the shelter & had her ear bitten but for everything she has been through she is very forgiving & sweet. Oz has a lovely personality, she is warm, friendly & affectionate & oh my, does she love to eat. Some people at first she maybe nervous & hesitant of until she knows & trusts them, then she is good. She is good with men & woman once she knows them. Did we mention you can pick this beautiful girl up & she will let you carry her? She is doing well walking on her harness & leash but still would need work as she does sometimes stop with some people & not want to walk as she gets a little intimidated. She did end up having a foster home in Korea who worked with her on walks & going for runs & we think she would really enjoy a home who would be active with her. We don’t think she ever received this much love before but she radiates her appreciation with us. We do know she adores dogs, she loves them & she absolutely needs another dog or dogs in the home for her to play with, this is mandatory. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Oz & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. Oz’s new forever home must have a fully fenced backyard. Oz rides beautifully in the car & loves a good journey, so great in the car. But then she sometimes doesn’t want to get out of the car so we have to carry her out. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Oz does not like crates & who could blame her. We are also looking for a forever home for Oz where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Oz is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her. Oz has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & does well. Oz needs to go to a forever home with another dog or dogs in the home, she really enjoys the company of other dogs & we currently have her with other dogs. This is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Oz is roughly 44.6 lbs & has put on so much weight with us & oh my goodness does she love to eat. When we got her, she was skinny & you could see her ribs, those days are long gone. She is 1 year old & 3 months & perhaps a Jindo what she is mixed with we are not sure, female, she is spayed, had a dental/scale & polish, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Oz with bringing her to the US with her travel costs, her medical, her dental, boarding fees etc & bringing her to WA than her adoption fee covers. Oz has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but in Korea she used to chase the cats so a home with no cats is needed for Oz. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Oz was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Oz’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Oz potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Oz & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Oz who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Oz has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Story
Quick Facts Name: Yoonmi  Age: 2 years old approximate  Gender: Female  Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Jindo Mix  Color: Beige  Weight: 12kg    My Journey In July 2024, I was found in Miryang, South Korea, and brought to a shelter. I waited patiently for months, but no one came for me. In October 2024, I was placed on the euthanasia list—until kind-hearted rescuers saved me and 14 other dogs just in time. Now, I’m ready for my next big adventure—finding my forever family!   My Health Fully vaccinated (October 2024) Spayed Heartworm negative (November 2024)   My Personality I have a gentle and thoughtful nature—I like to take my time getting to know new people. If you offer me a treat, I’ll happily accept it, and once I feel comfortable, I’ll warm up to your affection. I love other dogs! I’m friendly and playful, always eager to say hello and invite them to a fun game. I also have a curious and adventurous spirit—I enjoy exploring my surroundings and figuring out the world around me. I have an active energy level, so outdoor play and exercise help me feel my best. After a good run or walk, I settle down and relax at home. Although I love walking I don’t have much experience so I might not move at all when I am scared I might need your patience.   My Favorite Things Treats – The way to my heart is through snacks! Playtime with Other Dogs – I love making new canine friends! Outdoor Adventures – I enjoy running, jumping, and exploring the world!   Life at Home I’m still learning about home life, but I’m a smart and eager learner! I enjoy exploring and sometimes get curious about things on tables—so a little guidance will help me understand good manners. When something excites me, I may let out a few barks to express myself, but I settle down with reassurance. I prefer introducing myself at my own pace, but once I trust you, I’ll be by your side, ready for adventures and cuddles!   My Ideal Home I’d love a home with:   A Patient & Understanding Family – I need time to warm up, but once I do, I’m deeply loyal. A Canine Companion – I love playing with other dogs and would enjoy having a furry sibling. Room to Explore & Play – I have an active spirit and would thrive in a home where I can get plenty of exercise and outdoor time.   Special Notes If you’re looking for a smart, adventurous, and loyal companion, I might be the perfect match for you! I can’t wait to meet my forever family and start our journey together.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8ZD93ddZuI&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwdHAhtmE3ey6CcYZnOo25C ##2318521##

Quick Facts  Name: Darcy Age: 6 years old  Gender: Male Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Jindo Mix Color: White & Tan  Weight: 13.5kg   All About MeHi there! My name is Darcy, and I’m a 6-year-old Jindo mix with a lovely tan and white coat. I weigh 13.5 kg, just the right size for some cozy cuddles (once I get to know you, of course)!I was rescued from a scary place just in time. They called me a coward, but I think I’m just cautious. I need a bit of time to trust new people, but once I do, I’m all in!   My PersonalityWhen I first meet someone new, I might be a bit shy. Give me 3 days to a week, and you’ll see my friendly side. I generally like women but can be a bit afraid of men. I love hanging out with dogs my size and feel much more secure when they’re around. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d react to them.   Energy and ActivitiesI enjoy outdoor adventures and have a normal energy level. After a good play session outside, I love to rest quietly. I might pull on the leash a bit, but I do follow along well. I’m not protective of my food and hardly ever bark. I prefer to do my business outside and might mark my territory in new places.   Training and HabitsI don’t let my guard down easily, so it might take some time before you can pet me. But if you have snacks, I’ll come sniffing around! I rely a lot on other dogs and love saying hi to them. At the shelter, I’m the first to greet the volunteers and workers for treats.   My Ideal HomeI know my social skills need a bit of work, and my adoption might seem challenging, but I’m worth it! If you’re interested, I could go to a training center and foster home to help me get ready for my new family. Are you the patient and loving person I’ve been waiting for? Story
Quick Facts Name: Netu  Age: 1.5 years old (born September 2023)   Gender: Male Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Jindo Mix  Color: White Weight: 13kg   All About Me Hi, I’m Netu! I’m a one-and-a-half-year-old Jindo mix with a sleek white coat and a gentle, observant nature. Weighing 13kg (28.6lb), I may be a little shy at first, but with patience and kindness, I open up into a trusting and affectionate companion. I’m looking for a home that understands my need for a little extra time to build confidence and feel safe.   My Personality I can be a bit reserved around new people, especially in large open spaces where I feel uncertain. If you try to approach me too quickly, I might move away at first. However, if we spend time together in a smaller, enclosed area, I start to relax and accept gentle pets. I’ll even let you touch my face and pick me up without any fuss. Although I may seem cautious, I don’t have any aggressive tendencies—I’ve never shown any signs of biting or snapping, even when people touch my mouth or face. I just need gentle reassurance and time to get used to human touch.   Social Skills With other dogs, I’m friendly and enjoy social interactions. I like greeting new dogs and generally get along well with those my size or larger. High-energy dogs can sometimes overwhelm me, so I prefer calm, balanced playmates. I haven’t met cats before, so my reaction to them is unknown.   Energy and Activities I have a moderate to high energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities and exploring new environments, but I also know how to relax once I’ve had enough exercise. During walks, I get excited and may pull on the leash a little, but I follow my person’s lead well and am eager to learn better walking manners.   Training and Habits I’m still learning to fully trust human touch, but I’ve already made great progress. I don’t guard my food or toys, whether from people or other dogs. I rarely bark, so I won’t be a noisy presence in the home. I am house-trained and can use both pee pads and outdoor areas for bathroom breaks. I also settle well in a kennel when needed.   My Ideal Home I need a patient and understanding adopter who will give me time to adjust and build confidence. Since I can be cautious in new environments, a quiet and structured home would be best for me. If you’re willing to move at my pace and help me experience positive interactions, I will reward you with my trust and loyalty. If there are other dogs in my home, they should be friendly and calm, as I do best with patient canine companions. My future family should be committed to helping me experience new things at a comfortable pace so that I can become the confident and affectionate dog I’m meant to be.   Special Notes I am a sweet and sensitive dog who needs time to feel safe. Once I trust someone, I show how affectionate and gentle I truly am. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion who just needs a little extra patience to blossom, I might be the perfect match for you. Story
Quick Facts  Name: Ttosok Age: 3 years old Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Mini Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 8 kg All About MeHello there! I’m Ttosok, a little bundle of joy with a lively spirit and a love for all things fun. My story began at a gas station where I was a familiar face to many, but after the station closed, I found myself on a new path. A kind person stepped in to bring me to safety, and now, here I am, ready to find my forever home! Social SkillsI’m a social guy who loves meeting people, whether it’s the first time or the fiftieth! I’ll happily approach for a gentle pat, and yes, you can even pick me up—I’m quite the cuddle enthusiast. Men, women, I love them all and I can’t wait to charm my way into your heart. While I adore people, I’m a bit choosy when it comes to other dogs. I have a funny habit of putting on a tough act if another dog gets a little too close—no fighting, just some impressive (and admittedly adorable) lip curling to make sure they know I like my space. I’m happiest in a home where I can be your one and only. Energy and ActivitiesI have a moderate energy level, so outdoor activities are just my style! I enjoy my walks, though sometimes I get a little excited and pull on the leash. My preferred walking style? Going at my own pace, sniffing here and there, and maybe a little zigzag if something interesting catches my eye. If you’re up for some fun outdoor time, I think we’ll be a perfect match. Training and HabitsAt home, I’m pretty easygoing. I’m comfortable with both indoor pads and outdoor potty breaks, and though I’m not one to bark often, I might let out a little sound of excitement when I’m happy. I don’t guard my food from people, though I might give a little growl if a dog comes close while I’m eating. In new places, I might mark once or twice, but I’ll settle in quickly. I’m also a bit hesitant about cars, so a little boost from you would be just perfect when it’s travel time. Special NotesIn short, I’m a fun-loving, spirited little guy with a heart that’s big and ready to overflow with love for the perfect family. I might have a dash of sass with other dogs and a mind of my own on walks, but that’s just part of my charm! I’m looking for a family who adores my quirky personality, who’s up for a bit of adventure, and who’ll give me endless cuddles and laughs. Could that be you? I’m dreaming of the day I get to meet my forever family and bring a sparkle of joy, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of love into your life!   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyzCpGx_KKK5vuLu-GccHXX ##2260995##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Saena Age: 7 months old   Gender: Female Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Jindo Mix  Color: White  Weight: 10kg    All About Me Hi, I’m Saena! I’m a seven-month-old Jindo mix with a soft white coat and a gentle, thoughtful personality. Weighing 10kg (22lb), I’m still growing into my full size, but my heart is already full of love. My journey hasn’t been the easiest—I’ve had to learn how to trust people, and while I’m making great progress, I’m still looking for a patient and understanding family to help me fully come out of my shell.   My Personality I am naturally a little cautious around new people, but I warm up quickly. If you give me about 30 minutes to observe and feel safe, I will start showing my affectionate and playful side. Once I decide you’re a friend, I like to lean against you for comfort and enjoy gentle pets. I bond deeply with the people I trust. If my favorite person leaves the room, I may whimper and look for them, but I am learning to feel more secure even when I’m alone. Over time, I’ll continue to gain confidence and independence with the right guidance.   Social Skills I am polite and neutral with other dogs. I will say hello when meeting a new dog, but I don’t always engage in play. I tend to feel more secure when another dog is around, as I like to observe and follow their lead. If my new home has a friendly and calm dog, it might help me adjust more easily. I haven’t met cats yet, so my reaction to them is unknown.   Energy and Activities I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy getting outside for walks and movement, but I also know how to settle and relax afterward. I walk well on a leash but can sometimes pull when I’m excited or nervous. New environments can be a little overwhelming for me at first, so I appreciate a calm handler who reassures me.   Training and Habits I do not guard my food from people or other dogs, and I have good manners during meal times. I am mostly house-trained and prefer to go to the bathroom outside. I haven’t had much experience with indoor pee pads, so I may need a little patience if I need to learn a new setu. I am quiet by nature and don’t bark often. I am still learning to be comfortable in cars. Right now, I don’t like getting in on my own and need to be gently lifted. I also tend to drool a lot during car rides, which may be due to motion sickness. Short trips with positive reinforcement can help me feel more at ease over time.   My Ideal Home I need a family that understands shy and cautious dogs. I take a little time to feel safe in new environments, but once I do, I form deep and loyal bonds. My future family should be patient and willing to give me space to adjust rather than rushing me into new situations.  A home with another gentle and confident dog would be ideal, as I tend to feel more secure when I have a canine companion to follow. However, I can also do well as the only dog if my family is committed to helping me build confidence. Because I attach strongly to my person, a home where I won’t be left alone for long hours would be the best fit.   Special Notes I am a sweet, sensitive, and loving young dog with so much potential. With the right support, I will continue to grow into a confident and devoted companion. If you are looking for a gentle and loyal friend who will form an unbreakable bond with you, I just might be the perfect match.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab8v5V4uCzs&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JzdnTA5_mOXTzY_t6En_Bhp ##2336679##
