Story
Maui is a beautiful, sweet, and silly 75lb Double Doodle (her wisdom panel shows 45% Labrador Retriever, 32% Golden Retriever, 22% Poodle, and 1% Flat-Coated Retriever). She came to SPAR facing life and death, having to undergo her second gastrointestinal surgery. She luckily pulled through the surgery and the weeks of recovery. She had previously had a foreign body removal 6 months prior as a puppy. Maui is looking for a special home. Having already used two (or more) of her spare lives, her body cannot afford another foreign body removal or gastrointestinal surgery. She cannot have access to any toys or anything left out she can chew on (blankets, dog beds, her leash, plastic dog bowls, etc). She sleeps in her kennel at night and is great around other dogs of all sizes. She is learning about cats in her current foster home and might be okay around dog-savvy cats. She would be okay in a home with older kids that understand the safety concerns of leaving things out where Maui can get into them. She has decent leash manners and enjoys going on walks. She is very smart and would love to take additional obedience classes to bond more with her new family. Maui also has already had an incisional gastropexy, so no future risks of GDV, or “bloat”. If you are interested in meeting Maui, please complete the adoption application. We go through a multi-step process for our dogs that includes meeting at the fosters home, a home inspection, and reference checks.

Story
Hello, I just recently lost my job and need to rehome my sweet Daniel. Daniel is very kind and smart. He has all his shots up to date. He is neutered. He was born August 6, 2024, he is about 5 months old. He gets along with other dogs, he loves every human he sees, specially kids! Daniel is potty trained, walking trained, sits on command, goes outside on command, goes to his bed on command. He is a very good inside pet, respects all the rules. He loves to sleep a lot and loves to play outside with others. Looking for anyone that would love him and treat him well.

Story
Leia's personality is a delightful mix of playfulness and gentleness. While cautious around new people, she's slowly learning to trust and, once she does, her happiness shines through. Leia loves squeaky stuffed toys, crinkle stuffed toys, bones, Kongs, and Nylabones, ensuring her entertainment and satisfaction. Check out Leia's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwlgSxD8_nvo0g2REYQ7BJhm Currently working on leash training as she is terrified of it and pancakes down when leashed. She is also working on understanding chew boundaries. She loves interacting with other dogs and relies on them for confidence, displaying a social and friendly nature. Leia's curiosity knows no bounds – she loves to sniff, chew on toys, and run around in the backyard. Despite initial caution, Leia is a true lover, and when she trusts you, her joy is evident. Finding comfort in her bed and squeaky toys, she showcases a submissive and gentle side, especially when interacting with other dogs. If you're looking for a furry friend who's playful, gentle, and loving, Leia might be the perfect match for you. Open your heart and home to Leia, and you'll gain a loyal and affectionate companion for life! Leia is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary group or private training to help ensure a successful adoption. If you would like to meet Leia to see if she is a good fit for your family, fill out our adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.

Story
Shilo is a handsome young man who loves life and everything it has to offer. He wants nothing more than to be your best friend. Sadly, he did not have the best start in life as he spent most of his puppyhood in the shelter. Check out Shilo's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwksMD_uCZ-_iTd2JyP-LE5H Because Shilo spent his puppy months in a shelter, he missed out on some very important socialization milestones and is just now coming into his own and learning how to dog properly. Shilo is one of our longest residents and has been in foster care for over 10 months now. Although he still has more to learn and work on, Shilo has come so far! He just needs someone to give him a chance. Shilo is potty trained and crate-trained. He will sleep in his crate but he will also gladly join you in bed if you let him. Shilo knows a TON of tricks and basic obedience commands. This boy is super duper smart and eager to please! Shilo is dog-friendly after very slow introductions. Shilo has some leash reactivity issues due to fear of dogs he doesn't know well. Shilo currently attends group classes regularly with other dogs and has gotten much better. He does best with small to medium size dogs and currently lives with two other dogs. Shilo does not currently live with cats. He does not have a high prey drive, but generally he is a bit too excited by cats. Shilo loves to ride in the car, in or out of his crate. He is absolutely, positively ALWAYS down for a car ride. He also loves his bones and will carry them around with him everywhere. Shilo is an active boy who would love to join you on your workouts. He has lots of fun and has energy to burn. That said, Shilo can also relax when it is time to snuggle and binge Netflix shows together. Shilo is a big goofball who is always happy. He loves snuggling and playing and adventures in the car. He also loves, loves, loves eye rubs... especially in the morning
