Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Wally is one of 5 puppies that were being given away in a Walmart parking lot. Our rescue was lucky enough to be able to get Wally and his brother Marty into our care. Each boy received emergency care for dehydration and tummy trouble, as both had consumed rocks at some point. They were released to a foster home and never looked back! According to records, these two boys are said to be Labradoodles. Because Labradoodles come with special needs for grooming and care, we are seeking families who have experience with these mixed breeds, as well as the schedule to keep them socialized and get regular potty breaks. We don't have parent information, but based on their current size, anticipate they will be larger adult dogs. The sweet puppy is excellent with small children, though they must be prepared for the shark teeth and puppy antics that come with this age. The puppies live with 5 other dogs and are doing outstanding on house training. They receive a potty break every 2 to 3 hours at this age and with this schedule has had minimal accidents. They are quiet and affectionate and oh so cute! Both are crate trained, and doing very well! He will also need his adopters to take him to a positive based puppy class and have him neutered by six months of age. Story
Intake Reason: Transferred from MADACCWeight: 65# Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownPersonality: I am a very energetic dogHi, my name is Butch; I am a happy, fun-loving dude in search of a new home. I was a stray at MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission) and was super excited to be transferred to WCHS to find my new family because I love an adventure. I am a friendly and playful guy, maybe a little too friendly; sometimes when I greet a person, I jump up on them to say a great big ‘hi'. Perhaps we could take some classes together so I can practice manners and learn to keep four on the floor. We could even turn my tendency to hug into an adorable trick so that if someone wants a furry embrace, I could give them one on cue but only if I am asked. I am a smart boy and I like to learn and keep my brain busy so it would be lovely to try new activities and games. I already know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down' and ‘shake/paw' and think it would be fun to learn more human words from you; I would do well with patient and positive training techniques. I have lots of energy and would love to have a job or two; maybe we can participate in rally, canine sports or dog parkour or I could carry a backpack while we go hiking. I typically walk politely on leash without a lot of pulling or craziness unless you happen to miss a wonderful smell that is just out of nose-reach; then I will pull a bit to investigate. When I am out walking my tail is mostly is a constant state of wag to communicate my joy. I will need plenty of physical and mental exercise each day to be at my best. I am sweet and affectionate and think tender scratches and cuddles are fantastic; I would love a snuggle session at the end of a day filled with fun. I promise to be loyal forever and would be honored to be your constant companion and BFF. Stop by to meet me in person and discover my gigantic heart and personality for yourself.#2
