My name is SWEETIE and here is a little info about me: Breed: Labrador Retriever (Black coat) MixAge: 3 y/oGender: FemaleWeight: 56 lbsHeight: (ground to shoulder) 21.6 Inches (55 cm)Highlight(s): relaxed, easy going, friendly, loyal, loving Update: I am so happy to now be living in Richmond. I am able to walk on a pathway by the ocean (how cool is that?!) and to enjoy being outdoors with my wonderful foster. I am friendly with every human I meet and I'm progressing quite quickly in my ability to feel safe with other dogs. I am able to trust my human to keep me safe which makes a whole bunch of difference in how I feel when out walking, I love cuddles, walks, and dried duck treats. Yum!! I look forward to showing my adopter how wonderful a dog I am. I will love playing in your yard if it's fenced and I love car rides. I'm not quite perfect yet, but I'm working on it! Would you perhaps be my new family to join me in my enjoyment of life?! History:  Not many dogs live up to their name quite like SWEETIE does! She is truly a sweetheart. If you love the unrequited love that only a lab mix can give, SWEETIE is your girl.Sweetie is lovely – she is described by volunteers as being relaxed and easy going with people - kids as well. She is friendly with literally everyone and just has a kind, loyal, loving soul. RESCUE STORY: As a black dog in a high-kill shelter, SWEETIE was often overlooked until her time came to be on the euthanasia list due to lack of space.  LET’S GIVE THIS GIRL A LOVING HOME THAT SHE DESERVES!ENERGY LEVEL: Low to ModerateI get along with:DOGS: She is still dealing with some fears around other dogs so will need a bit of help in learning to trust them.CATS: UnknownKIDS: yesFEARS: currently, other dogs TRAINING: A bit of leash and command training since her arrival in Canada a few weeks ago.LEASH SKILLS: Some lunging that will need to be trained out of herHOUSE TRAINED: Largely, but may need help to adjust into a new home.HEALTH NOTES: Normal girl with good health markers!SPAYED:  yesVACCINATED: Yes (Rabies, Bordetella, Da2PP)MICROCHIPPED: Yes   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Story
Hi, I'm Ziba. Please find info about me below.Breed: labrador/Golden Retriever mixAge: 3-1/2 yearsGender: female, spayedWeight: 26 kg Hi guys! My name is Ziba, and it means pretty in my native language. And let me tell you, boy am I pretty! I definitely do my name justice! Here are some things that you should know about me: You could say I’ve had a really rough life. I became blind due to a blow on the head. One of my eyes had to be removed because of it. My owner was not a good person. Let’s just leave it at that! I absolutely love people and love receiving attention. I love my fellow, doggy friends and love to play with them. I in general get along very well with humans and dogs, but I am definitely not a fan of cats. It would be best to be adopted in a home with no cats. I love playing with other dogs and going on long walks. Despite my very bad experience with humans, I still love to be around people, and I’m hoping that you can help erase my traumatic experience from my mind. I really look forward to meeting you! Energy level: moderate Prey Drive: non-observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors ariseGets along with: Other dogs: yes Kids: yesCats: NoHere are some videos of her with kids and human. https://youtube.com/shorts/RniiPVoEKHo?si=5pbkzOMXnHvRSRio, https://youtube.com/shorts/BU1kzR1WPds?si=lR4UEXgHuUuWC-8Z Fears: I have experienced a major lack of love and attention, so I am mostly afraid of being abandoned. Name: EdvardBreed: LabradorAge: 4 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 25 kgHeight: 65 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Calm and affectionate, with a playful side Hello there! My name is Edvard, but feel free to call me Ed if you like; as you’ll see I’m a really flexible, easy going guy and I love having new friends! My origins are not very well known, but that’s ok. We do know that when I was six months old, a kind lady found me abandoned in a yard with a heavy chain around my neck. She thinks I was intentionally left behind when my previous owner moved. And while that is a really unhappy start to my life, I choose to focus on the fact that I was found by such a kind, wonderful human. She brought me home to recover and to learn what it is to be safe, cared for, and loved, and for that I feel like the luckiest boy alive! I don’t like to brag, but I may be the perfect friend? I live with several other dogs now, and I am everyone’s best friend! I love to play and romp, but I’m also really quick to pick up when the mood is more relaxed and have no problem settling in for quiet time. Heck, I even get along with cats and tiny humans! Really, I’m just happy to go along with everything as long as I’m surrounded by the ones I love. I’m a perfect gentleman on the leash, and I’m already potty trained. And if you want to surprise me with a super ultra wonderful treat, I LOVE car rides! They’re so exciting, even if it’s just for running errands! I will say though, I do not like to be left by myself. It reminds me too much of my scary start to life. But if you’re looking for a sweet, kind, easy going friend who will look at you with adoration all day long, I’d love to meet you!!!! Energy Level: Moderate Gets along with:Dogs, yes Cats, yes See edvard with a cat.Kids yes videos being converted Prey drive: no Edvard patiently is waiting for his food. Fears: none observed. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights throughToronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo.Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog.LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Story
Hello! My name is Taemi, and I have quite a tale to share with you. First here is a little more about me: Breed:  Age: 1 year old (born Jan. 2024) Gender: Female     Weight: 41 lbs Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, no sign of aggression or resource guarding issue Country of Origin: South Korea I was born on January 15, 2024, in the cold winter next to a busy road. My mom was tied up outside, and no one even knew she was pregnant until kind people intervened and brought her to safety at a private shelter. I was the smallest of my siblings, but I'm growing bigger every day. My mom weighs 21kg, and who knows, I might even grow bigger than her someday! I was born and raised in a shelter, separated from my mom at just 2 months old. I learned basic social skills from my mom, who is a people dog with a great personality. I believe I inherited her friendly nature, and I'm eager to learn more about the world around me. I've recently started exploring new experiences like meeting new people, going on walks, and even riding in a car - it's all so exciting! I may have been a bit shy when I met a new person for the first time on May 25, but I'm slowly coming out of my shell. I'm good with other dogs, having grown up around 10+ furry friends at the shelter. I even came across a cat during a walk and was just a little curious, but not reactive at all. While I'm still learning about walking on a leash and getting used to new environments, I'm making progress every day. I haven't shown any signs of aggression and have no issues with resource guarding. I may not be housetrained just yet, but I'm a quick learner and eager to please. If you're looking for a sweet and curious pup to join your family and explore the world together, then look no further. Adopt me, Taemi, and let's embark on new adventures and create lasting memories together! I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: yes (no video proof) Health notes: I will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped mid-July. No aggressive behaviours or resource gaurding noted. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Good day. My name is GARY (Boji) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Lab/Saluki mix (Baladi dog)Age: 2-1/2 yrsGender: maleWeight: 55 lbsHeight: 24-1/2 inchesHighlight(s): sweet, loves food, easy personality, playful CHEEEEECK IIIIT OOOOOUT. I have come a long way and just need to strengthen up more. You'll see I am such a happy boy and sweet too. Can you provide me the necessary time to regain my body strength and relearn where my leg is for movement. I am sure I could eventually run again. Videos show my progress. Here are the most recent. https://youtu.be/7S49SDJQBBo, https://youtu.be/ejMJoPSq1eEhttps://youtu.be/R9lwbXkdcGs, https://youtu.be/7hdroWgtlu4 SUPERB UPDATE: I can walk again. I had my surgery and it is working, I am no longer paralyzed. Now, I just need to strengthen up. Please keep watch for updated videos of my progress. Are you my nurturing family to help me get back to full stature?Check out my vids. See how happy I am. Here are a couple more: https://youtube.com/shorts/l6Wd8p3YqOE?feature=share,https://youtube.com/shorts/ybL7kOV2u7Q?feature=share,  https://youtube.com/shorts/WzC8L-1VQbo?feature=share, https://youtu.be/56N2TYpDDjI, https://youtube.com/shorts/PQyBDVC5nXA?si=4LobPhAJPpFDRfFmMore to come. I am so sweet and just love life. My mission in life will be to love you up and make you smile. One morning in Egypt, my rescuer, who feeds all us street dogs found me injured and unable to walk! So it's most likely I was hit by a car. This is quite common here, sadly. They don't even try to avoid us dogs. I was not depressed by this situation, as I wanted to live, so my rescuers didn't give up on my life. They consulted at number of vets here, but they didn't feel confident about doing surgery to help me walk again. They finally checked with a specialist & verified that they could possibly do a couple surgeries to fix me enough to rehab walking again, at least with one of my rear legs. I do have movement in it: https://youtube.com/shorts/IpjMJLi-yRs, https://youtube.com/shorts/cfcp80bTSQk. My x-rays are included. Maybe a Canada specialist will have even better ideas.I love food, so should be easy to motivate for any training, like learning to use a wheelchair and walk with you on leash, for example. They say I have such a good heart and am a good natured pup.It is rather boring for me here, as I am stuck in an apartment all day, as life is not kind to any dogs here, but even worse for a disabled dog. Hoping you are ready for me, so I can get to Canada and live a real life, as a dog should.I get along well with others: https://youtube.com/shorts/hrQyd81lDLw and display no aggressive tendencies at all. Awaiting a video of me with other dogs. No idea how I'd be with cats or kids, never been around them. I'm pretty easy going though, so given proper intro, I could probably do well. Plus if the kitty is fast, I couldn't keep up. LOL.I am aware of my bladder and bowels and will move away from my sleeping spot to go. So, maybe some pee pads for now will work.If you are looking for a snuggle buddy and someone to share meaningful strolls with, I'm yer guy.
