Story
I'm a 13-month old Labrador Retriever mix. I love running behind my people all day long at home! I love going to dog parks and playing with other dogs. Fresh cut grass and digging gives me the zoomies! I enjoy greeting people, but my excitement frequently gets the best of me, and I can't help but jump up to say hello. I am working on my speaking skills but sometimes I have to let you or the dog walking by know what's on my mind. I am a quick learner, though, especially when treats are involved. Sit? Stay? Heel? Come? Easy peasy! Treats are my weakness, and I'd do just about anything for a tasty reward. I'm great at listening and anytime there are treats involved, you have my fullest attention! I need some help with leash training as I can get super excited when seeing other dogs. I am potty trained and crate trained but taking me out after a big chug is always a good idea! I am a puppy so I cant hold it for long. I love playing with other dogs at the dog park. I would do fine with another dog at home or I may be okay on my own with my humans as long as I have an outlet for my energy. I'm not too sure about cats. I have not had a lot of experience with kids but I love all people and love getting rubs and scratches! I am a little jumpy so maybe older children would be best. I love squeaky toys and enjoy a good tug of war with ropes. My ideal home would be where I have a fun group of people/dogs who can take me on long walks, to the dog parks and play with me! I can get bored sometimes and find things to chew on but I think it's just me being a puppy. I can't wait to meet my forever family! My Adoption Fee includes a training program specific for my needs.

Story
🐾🌟 **Meet Oliver: A Good Dog Deserving of a Forever Home** 🌟🐾 Oliver has had a bit of a rough start in life, but his resilient spirit and loving nature shine through despite it all. Bounced around too much for less than a year of life, Oliver is searching for stability and a loving family to call his own. 🏡 **Background:** Originally taken from his first home by a caring delivery driver who witnessed his neglect, Oliver then found himself living with an elderly gentleman who, unfortunately, couldn't keep up with his lively energy. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor stepped in to help him find his way into rescue. 🐶 **Personality and Traits:** Oliver is a great young dog with a ton of potential. He's smart, very trainable, and full of energy. He loves to run, jump, and play, especially with other dogs as seen in his YouTube video! While he may accidentally knock down small animals or kids due to his exuberance, he's incredibly affectionate and eager to give enthusiastic kisses to anyone who crosses his path. Oliver walks well on a leash, is kennel and house trained, and would thrive in a home with a yard and plenty of human companionship. 🩺 **Health:** Though Oliver does have some hip dysplasia, he shows no clinical symptoms and it doesn't bother him in the least. With proper care and attention, he's ready to enjoy a happy and active life with his forever family. 💕 **Adoption Details:** Oliver's adoption fee is $300, and applications can be found at fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready to fill your home with love and laughter, consider opening your heart to Oliver. Let's give him the stable and loving forever home he deserves! 🐾❤️

Story
Wheeler is a loving and energetic yellow lab/shepherd mix looking for an active home that enjoys long walks, hikes, and enjoying the outdoors. We have walked, hiked, ran, or kayaked thousands of miles together over the years. We have invested a ton of time in obedience and behavioral training, so he walks wonderfully on a leash (sometimes needs a few reminders about his manners) and follows basic commands. Wheeler needs a patient and loving home that can respond gently to his anxiety around other dogs and meeting new people. He bonds to his pack of humans like super glue and needs a calm, assertive presence to help him through exciting situations. As our family has grown, we've been unable to calm his nerves around our toddler. He will do best in a home without small children.

Story
Kemah is an incredibly sweet dog who has been a constant companion to me for 7 years. We named her after Kemah, TX (if you have not been there, it is a beautiful spot on the Texas Coast near Galveston!) However, we are now trying to find a new home for her. My family dynamic has changed quite a bit in the past 2 years, and we are finding that with our busy lifestyle (4 kids and 2 other dogs) Kemah is not thriving. She deals with anxiety and likely would be much more comfortable in a 1 dog / no kids household. I spent a year living alone, working from home 2 days a week, and that was the best year of her life. Even the days that I had to go into work, she would hang out at home all day and then I would come home at night and take her for a walk, and she was happy as a clam. She is about 7 years old, spayed, and up to date on all vax (just got that done a couple of months ago). She is a Lab / Sharpei / Corgi mix and super cute.

PAW Club Member!I am part of the Patient and Waiting (PAW) Club! My adoption fee has been reduced by $100 to help me find my loving home!HighlightsNeeds to go home as an only dog OR with a female dog pending meet and greetMeet Simba – The Ultimate People-LoverSimba is a 50-pound Lab mix with a larger-than-life personality and an endless supply of love to give. This friendly boy absolutely adores people—he`s known for leaning his entire body into hugs and giving the sweetest kisses. He is always happy to see people, greeting everyone with his wagging tail and infectious enthusiasm.Simba is not just playful—he`s smart and eager to learn! He already knows tricks and is even learning fun ones like spin. He’s highly treat-motivated, which makes training both productive and fun.Simba’s excitement for life is as big as his vertical jump, so a secure, tall fence is a must to keep him safe as he explores his world. He thrives on activity and adventure, making him the perfect companion for an active family who loves hikes, walks, and playtime. He walks well on a leash and is always up for the next adventure. While Simba is incredibly affectionate with humans, he prefers to be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the attention for himself. He has shown progress with female dogs but plays very hard, so we will consider a home with a female dog on a case-by-case basis, pending a meet-and-greet at the kennel. This active, affectionate pup is ready to bring boundless energy, cuddles, and fun tricks to his forever family. Could Simba be your next adventure buddy? Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website.

Story
Are you looking for a canine companion who is cuddly, fun, and will always keep you laughing? That's Klaira! She is a giant goofball who will show you her best zoomies in the yard, while give the most amazing snuggles on the couch. She has completed a board and train program, though she will still occasionally pretend she can't hear you if you ask her to sit without a treat handy. Klaira has also been fantastic with children. Klaira has been waiting for a family for over a year now, all because she wants to be the center of attention in her new home. She is dog selective, and recommended best for a home without other dogs or ones that have dogs she coexists with well. A meet and greet is a must for any existing dogs in the home. She has completed heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative!  Foster update: Klaira settled right in at our house. She loves playing with our 3 year old dog and our kiddos. She is happy to run around after the kids or to cuddle up next to you (preferably with her head on your arm). We were surprised to  discover her literally jumping on the trampoline with the kids earlier today. We have also learned that she loves to give leg hugs with her front paws! I love how her ears fold up and over her head when she is focused on something. She is 5 years old so as you would expect, she is fully potty trained, sleeps well and does a good job on walks. We tried out multiple commands on her and she seems to know sit, down, stay and come. If you are looking for a cuddly, fun girl to instantly fit in at your home, Klaira is your girl! Volunteer Notes: Wow, what a chonky little mama! She’s a tiny little thing and has the cutest floppy ears. She is super friendly and a total extrovert. She loved getting pets and attention from everyone. Took treats gently but only liked the good ones. She cuddled up to me and loved getting some head scratches. Another volunteer came into the yard and she absolutely loved getting his attention too. She did great sniffing other dogs next to us and is overall an amazing gal! She’s on the shorter side and is just so cute! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##1683343##

Story
Meet Soren, an incredibly smart and playful puppy with a whole lot of energy! Soren is currently working on potty training—he’s made great progress but still has a few accidents here and there. Like his brother, he can play a bit rough at times, but he’s learning from the older dogs to be a little more gentle.  Soren is a true puppy in every sense—chewing everything in sight, but he’s got plenty of toys and chew options to keep him entertained. This little guy is also impressively clever—he’s already figured out how to use the stairs to reach the couch, showing off his growing independence and problem-solving skills! While he’s still perfecting his leash skills, Soren is getting more used to his harness and enjoys his walks, though he can easily get distracted by all the exciting new smells and sights. When he's not chewing or learning something new, he loves running laps around the kitchen table and into the living room, always ready to burn off that playful puppy energy before taking a well-deserved nap. Soren would thrive in a home where he can continue learning, growing, and exploring. If you're ready to welcome this smart, energetic puppy into your life, Soren could be the perfect fit for your family! This litter was rescued from a euthanasia list in a high kill shelter in Texas. If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Belle, and I am a gorgeous Golden Retriever who was born 10/17/21, and I weigh 86 pounds. I have had lots of treats and could stand some exercise to regain my trim physique. I must have a large secure yard and a sibling would be fine with me. However, I do not like cats. They bring out my prey drive so, no cats please.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Golden, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Hi! My name is Max, and I am a gorgeous Golden Retriever who was born 6/10/21, and I weigh 80 pounds. I love to play so I must have a large, secure yard and siblings would be fine with me.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Golden, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org.
