Story
Looking for a Lap Dog or a Teddy Bear? If so, look no further because Bentley is the boy for you. This very adorable and handsome seven-year-old male Labrador Retriever is quite the gentle soul who wants nothing more than to have a loving home with a loving family, nice, fenced back yard so he can take some zzzz's in the sun and a walk every day. We are seeking a foster or foster to adopt home for Bentley and, of course, a permanent adoption as well. He originally came into our Rescue three years ago from a very bad situation and was so neglected that the shelter thought he was a senior boy when in fact he was only about 4 yrs. old. His skin was in terrible condition but his mom put him on a natural diet which help clear most of the problems and although there are still a handful of scars, he has an amazingly healthy and beautiful coat.. Bentley's Mom is encountering some health issues and sadly has to give up Bentley because she is going to live with her sister who lives in a condo that cannot have a dog over 35 lbs. so boohoo, Bentley has to find a new Mom and family. This handsome boy is one mellow fellow who loves being close to his people but does not cling. He is excellent in the house with no chewing, barking, counter surfing or jumping on furniture unless, of course, he is invited to sit on the sofa for some snuggling with his favorite people. He is living with another female dog but we do not know his activity level with cats but do know he likes to chase squirrels. This sweet boy is heartworm negative, neutered, current on all vaccinations, microchipped and wormed. He is a cream-colored Labrador Retriever, with may something else mixed in too but his personality is all Lab and lover boy. Bentley is a very gentle soul and doesn't require much attention. He needs a nice, fenced yard for his sunbathing, maybe another calm dog but not necessary, a family member who can walk him daily and someone who is home some of the day since he's only been left alone for 4 hours at a time. Interested? Please go to www.greatrescue.org to complete an adoption application or give us a call at 904-501-6899 or 904-703-8348 with questions. Lucky is the family who will call Bentley their own!!

Story
|How to describe this precious girl, Sweet Daisy!! She is lovely, gentle, lady-like, a survivor, great temperament and beautiful in every way! She has lived with a dog and has been cat tested and her foster mom says she is "perfect in every way too!" She is an amazing little girl who has quite the story to tell, and we think she is a Lab with a "golden heart'! Daisy is not only a survivor, but she is thriving!! We received a notice from one of our fellow rescue partners around Thanksgiving that there was a precious girl in north Florida who needed help asap. She appeared to be a retriever in the photo, so we decided to help. As it turns out, she was in a life-threatening situation with a severe infection following the birth of her puppies which we believe were born in the woods. We have no idea how Daisy came to be in that situation but when she wandered alone into a yard of a homeowner who knew she recently had puppies, so they made a nice straw bed for her in a sheltered spot hoping she would bring them to safety. Four days passed with no puppies and with Daisy taking a drastic turn for the worse so she was rushed to a local Vet hospital where she was diagnosed with a severe uterine infection and would have died within days. She immediately underwent spay surgery and days later was transported to our Vet hospital in Saint Johns. We believe her puppies were killed by wild animals and sadly not was precious Daisy hurting but she was also grieving! only was precious Daisy hurting from her surgery, but she was also grieving the loss of her babies too. Well, fast forward to today and Daisy is amazing!! She totally recovered from her surgery and pain of losing her babies, has undergone heartworm treatment, gained weight and has learned that life and people are wonderful and she is now ready to enjoy it on her own in a new family. This precious girl had a home at one time but only she knows the whole story. She is a cuddler on the sofa, loves going for walks, has impeccable house manners, enjoys being outside watching the squirrels and birds but most of all, loves being with people. She does not bark, counter surf, chew or dig in the yard.. This is the perfect little lady in every way and lucky is the family who will call her their very own. She is an ideal companion for someone who works from home, or a retired couple or single. Daisy is believed to be 7 years old, weighs 57 lbs, is totally vaccinated, heartworm negative, spayed and chipped. Her new family must have a fenced yard, someone home much of the day because she loves being close to her person, no children living in the home but visiting grandchildren over the age of 5 are okay and a family member able to walk her daily. She would love a friendly calm dog or cat also for companionship. If you are interested in making this precious girl part of your family, please go to www.greatrescue.org to complete an adoption application. Questions? Story
Hiya Hooman! Name’s Pip, your future best friend. I flew all the way from the Bahamas just to meet you. I heard you were looking for a well trained pup, who has the best listening ears. That’s me! If you call my name, I will always come to you. If you ask me to sit, I will sit and wait, even in front of my food! All I want is to make my hooman happy and if you give me praise or pets I will be so happy too. If you enjoy walks, I do too! I will stay in heal right next to you and look up to you for direction and when you “free” me, I’ll sniff and walk slightly ahead of you. If you’d rather play in our home or yard with some toys, I’ll fetch them for you. Walks and fetch are my favorites! Did you say it’s been a long day and want to rest, can I join you on the couch? I’m the biggest snuggle bug who’s always up for some hugs or I can just lay next to you if you’d like some quiet time. I promise to be your forever loyal and loving dog who is the best companion If you are interested in learning more about this dog, please complete an application by visiting http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt. Story
Goblin | 1.5 Years | 55lbs Hi there, my name is Goblin! I arrived at K9s For Warriors in July of 2024 after passing my initial test with flying colors! Although I am unable to become a service dog due to some medical concerns, I am a spirited and outgoing pup that is ready to be your perfect running companion! Once I get to know you, I start to crave affection and companionship. Neck scratches and belly rubs are the key to my heart! I have made a few dog friends here at K9s and would be open to having a zoomie buddy in my forever home. I am crate trained, familiar with my basics and would love to continue learning with you! If you are considering adopting Goblin, we highly encourage you to reach out to set up a formal meet and greet. We look forward to hearing from you and hope we can help find your new furever friend!
